They don't and the CDC, without any facts, just stated that by eliminating middle seats, you can reduce the spread of covid by 50%. This one made me laugh last night when I saw it. They have no facts to prove the statement. They have not tested any airline passengers to prove the statement. They tried to use "facts" and misused their own comment. Yes, if there are 3 seats and you eliminate the middle one, you reduce the chance by 33% not 50% (that is where their "facts" were wrong). By having the middle seats used, you "increase your chances by 50%."

This stupid statement from the CDC yesterday just goes to show how useless the CDC is in a pandemic. They are using 5th grade hypothetic math as their basis for public safety. They are not using data. What makes it even worse, the blind lemmings believing everything the CDC says is fact and backed with science. This one statement alone made by them proves they are using no data or science.

BRAVO! Great post, I'm glad others see the light. The CDC seems to be nothing more then the blind leading the blind.

Well I'm not sure about a government executive action for or against a vaccine, but they damn sure have controlled our lives w/ regards to the openings and closings of business' and mandating masks and so forth. It's kind of weird reading that a Gov should leave business' along and allow them to make their own policies when for the last year this simply has not been the case. And nationwide too.

Having said this, to date, there has been NO policy issued by any cruise company requiring vaccines from a cruise ship leaving a US port.

    Great post and great point!

While we all thought DeSantis was coming to our rescue by suing the Government to allow cruising out of Florida he throws in his own personal monkey wrench.

He could push cruising out of Florida back months if not a year by not allowing the cruising companies to make their own decision to cruise with only vaccinated passengers and crew to start.  This should be the decision of the Companies running their business and the customers using their service.

DeSantis’ press office on Monday asserted that his recent executive order barring businesses from requiring proof of vaccinated customers extends to cruise lines operating in Florida.

This is not going to go well I am afraid.

It is good to see he is protecting peoples rights, it is sad to see so many ready to give up their freedoms for a cruise. No thanks!

Sadly it seems you are correct. The CDC does not want us cruising anytime soon it seems. That Don's Vacations guy on YouTube put a video out about this today. He was not happy about it. I guess all we can do is hope for now.

Why not take a stand for your principles and forego the vaccine?  Set a noble standard; don’t be one of the sheeple!!

Well great point, I was not going to get it at first but I do feel safe getting it. I did my research and feel comfortable', maybe not 100 percent, but good comfortable enough for me. What I do NOT like is people shaming people who choose not to. This is a free country and we need to respect everyone's personal choice on this matter. No one should be forced to take a vaccine if they do not want too. It seems a lot of people in power are trying everything in their power to take peoples rights away and that is NOT what this country stands for. Taking the vaccine is NOT against my principles. but forcing it on others is.

Just this week NYS amended there app to now include hotels, some larger shopping areas, smaller venues than stated, mass transit areas etc.  While the "law" may not be stated if you are hindering those freedoms then in effect, you are forcing them.  If my job, which it does, demands travel and stays in NY and in order to do so I must prove I am vaccinated, then my livelihood is tied to me having the vaccine...I AM FORCED to do it.  I will get the shot next week, it was my plan to do so because I choose to travel for pleasure and getting it is my choice in order to do what I enjoy.  I support any business that CHOOSES to limit it to vaccinated people.  Beyond that...you are walking a path that Stalin and the KGB once did, Hitler once did, a divided Germany once did.  How can you be ok with that?

I'm getting the vaccine because I'm choosing to do so, but you are 100 percent right. Many people are being forced into getting the vaccine. Too many Americans do not seem to care and are ready to handover their freedoms. They are NOT seeing the bigger picture. Thanks for the great post, bravo!

If you're not getting the COVID vaccine, regardless of the reason, you're going to be limited and restricted on what you can do, or where you can go on your vacation, at least for the foreseeable future.  If that's your choice, I have no issue with it.  But, there's no reason to be here if you choose not to cruise due to COVID vaccine requirements.

Sorry but nobody put you in charge of this forum. people are going to share their opinion, that is what this forum is for.

Hmmm no side effects as the vaccine now as the vaccine population is still young.

But what happens years from now as people start to develop unexplained chronic illnesses,

I'm sure scientists and researchers will look back upon this time and wonder why people were so anxious to inject themselves with a vaccine that literally only took 6 months to get to market. Me i'm waiting on the sidelines until we know more.

The Spanish Flu petered out only after 2 years and w/o any vaccines.

BRAVO well said! I think a lot of people are not seeing this as a possibility. I figure if you are at risk or feel you might be and you want the vaccine, hey have at it. The people who do not trust the vaccine have the right to NOT have it without being shamed and treated like the enemy of the people, after all those who choose NOT to have the vaccine might just be right. Only the future will tell.

At first I wanted a fully vaccinated crew and passengers, but after seeing the comments about the reluctance to get the vaccine, I have decided I will  cruise anyway. I'm fully vaccinated and do not have fear of getting Covid from unvaccinated passengers. If they don't care about themselves or others then I do not care about them. I will leave it up to the cruise lines and ports to make the decision. JMHO

It is NOT about them not caring about others it is about them making a choice they feel safe with. If you are so worried about Covid then maybe you should not sail or do anything else for that matter. See it works both ways.

Your choice.  Just don't be surprised if you can't do everything you want to do because other entities require it.

As well you should but make sure you base your decision on FACTS.  Additionally, it is not being forced on you.  Get it, don't get it.  Your choice.  Just don't be surprised if you can't do everything you want to do because other entities require it.

    Cheers!

Any way you try to explain it the powers that be are trying to FORCE it on people. I mean you kind of explain that in your comment.
