I have empathy for you and would likely also feel wronged (because you were). I think you know by now that I do not stick up for the cruise lines, so I am suggesting this on your behalf only.

My recommendation is to wait a week and see how you feel. It's raw right now. If, after a week, you still feel passionately I always vote with my dollar.

@Jamielogical I think BermudaBound2014 is giving you great advice here. I also think you have been wronged but it might be a good idea to give it a week or so to think about it and see how you feel then. The time might help with how you feel and give you time to weigh things out, if by then you are still angry about how you were treated  then I say run. Good luck with your choice.

Celebrity just got permission to go full vaccinated out of....  wait for it....  Florida in June.   So explain that one away for those of you thinking the Governor wont back down.

He will not back down, he is letting people have options and choices which is a good thing. He already talked about this more then once on the local news, and many of us that live in Florida appreciate it and agree with his decision, not all the people of course but most I have spoken too do agree. The more choices the better for everyone to feel safe in their personal decision.

So we just had our 4th cruise cancelled and our now debating about doing the Bliss or celebrity. It sounds like Alaska is happening, but curious if anyone has strong thoughts about the likihood of it actually happening this August.

I think Captainwoody gave you great advice, that is what I have done with another cruise. I say go for it. Good luck!

You will not be the first person to use this strategy. I would go a step farther and book refundable hotel too just in case no cruises are sailing yet. The airlines are no longer being super flexible with cancellations, so being prepared for a land vacation as worst cases might be smart. I think we are in for a very long rough start in the industry.

That is great advice. I'm doing a big land vacation this year just so I know I will have a vacation no matter what. I also have a cruise booked just in case cruising is a go. If it is then that will be the gravy because I'm going lol.

If you believe that then you don't know our Governor very well.  No deals.

States’ rights are grounded in the United States Constitution under the 10th Amendment to the United States Constitution. The 10th Amendmentstates that “the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

Spot on, he will NOT stand down to the CDC just like he will not stand down to big tech and social media getting away with banning people just because they do not agree with their opinion. We the people in Florida have rights.

I am ready either way.  Vaccinated, unvaccinated, whatever. I really don't care what they decide as long as my August cruise sails.  I am losing hope that it will sail after reading today's email, but there's always a chance.

Same here I'm ready to go either way.

I don't know why so many who are concerned about the unvaccinated halting the cruise because of a break out are even booking cruises? You had to know that this would be a possibility. There was plenty of opportunity to cancel or get a refund instead of Lifting and Shifting into the unknown.

    BINGO!

Only a matter of time, @BirdTravels. Only a matter of time.

And anyone who thinks the cash-starved cruise industry won't use this "guidance" to get rid of the mask requirement ASAP so people can sail again LIKE NORMAL, is living in a fantasy world!

Exactly! The frightened ones can stay home, I'm all for no mask.

Everything is falling into place perfectly.  My only prayer is that NCL keeps with their current guideline of 100% vaccinated cruises through the end of the year.  I really don’t want to be around people on a ship that are not vaccinated, and we don’t cruise until December.

Don't worry you will get over it.

For all of you RCL fans, what is your favorite boat?  I have only been on their older ships but the giant ones look pretty cool.  I can't wait to get on the Mardi Gras.

Mardi Gra is going to be a blast I can not wait myself, it is going to be fun. As far as RCL we really liked the smaller ships like Radiance and Brilliance best. Biggest RCL we have been on was Freedom, it was great with the kids and we had a fun time. Have not been on the Oasis class but looking forward to trying them one day. Had Oasis and Allure scheduled last year before the Covid thing but we all know how that worked out.

Viva Las Vegas! I plan on going back there- in fact the only reason I stopped going there was I returned to cruising and did that more. Best meals in my life were in Vegas.

I just came back from Vegas recently, it has been over ten years since I was there last. We had a blast, I can not believe I waited this long to go back. In a weird way this no Cruising thing was good for something after all. It got me going back on land vacations and I'm loving it, these are the first land vacations I have done in years. This summer it will be Hawaii and I can not wait lol. 🥳

    Bingo. This right here.

It's another case of the law of unintended consequences:

Step 1: Get as many people vaccinated as possible so life can return to normal.

Step 2: Tell people that mask wearing, social distancing and other restrictions will still remain in place even after people are vaccinated.

Step 3: The unvaccinated "fence sitters" decide "what's the point?" and don't get vaccinated.

Step 4: Blame the fence sitters for not getting vaccinated.

    Good grief!

So true, the whole thing is ridicules and people keep buying into it lol.

"The mask order includes while guests are seated in outdoor pool areas."

"removal of the mask for extended meal service or beverage consumption would constitute a violation of this Order."

blah blah blah on and on

I swear these are more restrictive than on land.  Who would wear a mask by the pool? No one--- and they know it-- so why even mention it?

Tell me again--- why we are getting the vaccine, if it's not even safe to lay by the pool beside other vaccinated people?

Glad my next 2 cruises aren't out of this country controlled by these ridiculous people

I agree makes no sense. I'm glad I booked a couple of nice land vacations this year. I came back from one recently and it was great. I was going to cancel the others if the Cruise lines opened up but now, no way. I'm keeping my land vacations and loving it. This whole thing has made me realize that Cruising is fun but returning back to good old fashion land vacations can be just as fun. They can keep the floating prison barges. I will wait until this complete silliness is over to Cruise again, until to then land vacations here I come. Life is to short for this useless drawn out frustrating wait.

Written like someone who had has no up-close experience with people who have suffered from COVID.

Well a lot of people have had close up experience's with people who have suffered from a lot of things. That does not mean they should give up living life. If a person is that fearful, maybe they should stay inside and wait this thing out, that is up to them. The rest of us have lives to live and have been living them just fine, free of fear. Being cautious is one thing but living like a child that is scared of the dark is another.

ReneeFL, my point is how many people today in Miami are positive for Covid19?  1000, 2000.... ???

If 10 or 100 show up on a Carnival Mardi Gras ship with Covid, are they going to deny the people on the ship to get off?  I think if we are talking March of 2020... maybe.  Today?  NO WAY!

The world has changed in so many regrettable ways, but the reality is having Covid19 is not special or unique or even worrying.  We need to realize where we are!  We need to get back to life.

I truly say, we may all be dead tomorrow but it is damn well time to quit freaking out over Covid19

One of the best post I have read today. Well said.
