  1. You got the rare agent that didnt know how to apply the card. When applied at the port, or at guest services onboard, the agent can enter any amount for a gift card, crediting the account for whatever amount they enter. agents should do a check balance and apply the shown amount. Yours probably wasn't comfortable or had previously made a mistake they did not want to make again.

Masks are the most ridiculous thing ever in dealing with the virus.  Cruise lines are already more strict than pretty much any other place in existence because they require vaccinations and testing.  That should be good enough.

I don't fault the cruise lines, they have to do what they have to do. It's the CDC that makes ridiculous requirements and endless hoops.  My husband and I will never cruise again with mask mandates when we have other options to vacation while breathing freely.  Florida has been our saving grace during this pandemic.

You were just getting started, ready to give up already?

  3. Carnival employees get free cruises and their families do also. They are non-revenue cruises. If you only pay port fees it's a non revenue cruise.   Maybe the travel agent got the cruise for free and put your name on it and charged you. Anything can happen and nothing is perfect. Maybe some mistakes were made and people didn't get the credit they deserved.

How do you sail with more than 100% occupancy?  someone sleeping in deck chairs?  If the ship has capacty for 3500 guests than thats 100% isnt it?  How do you get more than what you can sleep? Or am i looking at capacity wrong?  When an airline sells over capacity people get bumped cause there arent enough seats for everyone wouldnt it be the same for a ship?  1 bed = 1 person.😕

It's because people dont understand what capacity is. The ships hold many more than their double occupancy "capacity " and they consistently sail fuller than the published "capacity" number. There is just more attention on not now. For instance, the person that said above that Freedom was sailing with 2300 out of 3000 doesnt realize Freedom nearly always sails with around 3800. Precovid  of course.

  5. The wording now states that this benefit "cannot be used for casino credits/charges and gratuities charged to your onboard account."

I know what everyone has done in the past and on THEIR cruise, but I wonder how this will change things in the future.

They did have a few things served by staff - bacon, carving stations, cake station, and a couple of trays of food which were towards the back of the heating stations.  However, most of the buffet area was serve yourself.

That's normal. That's to keep people from taking the whole cake, pan of bacon, or roast beef. You know they would.

  7. Not allowed. Oh and I have seen the cops board to pick up people in the Bahamas, I guess they "forgot" about it. If it's that necessary, i would follow the rule and not cruise. If you choose to break them, you risk going to jail in a foreign country. Have fun.
