  1. So the review into what was available on the other cruiseline was a comparison to what is available on P&O? If that is the case for genuine REVIEWS then we had better not have any reviews or opinions on here.
  2. Just remember that some of the opinions on here are second hand...ie I had a pal who did x,y and z. They are based on other peoples experiences. I have now decided to try a few other cruise lines, other than P&O because they are really lacking in customer service. We have been with RCI on two ships and enjoyed them both and on the Magellan(Cruise Maritime) which was the worst possible cruise to go on. We have the Britannia in September to look forward to and myself and my wife make the best of most things that happen and enjoy our cruising. We are cancelling Iona for next year and looking elsewhere.
  3. I doubt it as tips are included in the price as such.
  4. I hope they don't change our itinery on Britannia in September. We are due an o/n in Stockholm which is not too bad. I am glad they have kept my fav. on which is Tallinn. I also hope that there are free shuttles in Helsinki, Stockholm and Copenhagen.
  5. That is not good enough. They should have the guts to put closed for the food areas not open. People are making excuses for P&O when there are none.
  6. The problem is not having quarantine zones. It is constantly changing them for no apparent reason. Why can't P&O set aside a zone and NOT sell cabins in that zone. Nobody would have to suffer having their cabins changed .
  7. I was not being rude . I was stating a question on why people cruise. I do it for relaxation , to see different countries and enjoy being at sea. The food ,as long as it is good (which the buffet is), is not my reason for cruising, nor am I bothered for five minutes of hustle and bustle out of a whole day. As you say, and I have said also, each to their own but the original I replied to was rather snobby in their reference to a 'cafeteria'.
  8. I too like the relaxed dining but if there was only the buffet available I would still cruise as the whole 'experience' is acceptable as I have not found much to be annoyed about. Our last cruise on Iona left some things not perfect in the buffet but it would never spoil our cruise. As you say though, each to their own.
  9. It all depends on why you are cruising. As the food in the 'cafeteria' is reasonable, are you cruising to see different countries, places and relaxation or are you cruising for food? If the latter then stick to 5* hotels on the mainland.
  10. Thanks for all the help. We are on select so should be ok.
  11. I think it is a big mistake producing bigger and bigger ships. Surely they can see this from the problems Iona has. There are a number of ports/areas which cannot accommodate the ships of this size. I believe, and it is only a personal opinion, that the ships should be no bigger than the Britannia.
  12. Thanks. Was the shuttle free as our last two cruises with NCI they provided all shuttles in Helsinki, Stockholm and Copenhagen free of charge...and they ran every 30 min or so.
  13. Hi. Thanks very much. We have been to the Baltic twice (inc St Petes) and both times we had shuttles to the town centers free of charge (except Tallinn where there is only a hundred yards walk). It seems to be that P&O charge to get to the centers for 'free time'. Was this the case with you.
  14. We are going on the Britannia to the Baltic in September. On previous visits to Tallinn, Stockholm and Copenhagen we have docked within walking distance of the town centers. In Copenhagen it was a fair walk but shuttles took us to the town center if we wished. In Helsinki shuttles took us again into the town center. In Tallinn we docked a couple of hundred yards away from the old town entrance. Does anyone know what the situation is now with the docking and shuttles as we prefer a 'do it on your own' scenario?
  15. Why the Cunard page? It depends which ship the person is going on so it would help answer the question if we knew. I am sure the P&O support team will help.
  16. P&O seem to have no idea of customer relations. They are either incompetent OR do not care. They will loose business hand over fist the way they are going. To say it is NOT a change is a blatant lie as they are not going where you have paid to go. I will avoid them after our booked cruise on Britannia and we have already cancelled one future cruise.
  17. Yet they are still advertising it as going to Geiranger for the day after a stop at Hellesylt. P&O are beginning to be a cruise line to avoid with their misinformation.
  18. Except it should have been free!.
  19. We travelled down from Leeds three weeks ago. The coach had 40+ people on board and no masks were worn except by us. No-one at the port wore them either and distancing was non existent.
  20. We just moved a March 2023 cruise on Iona to the Fjords (after the current fiasco) to Sept. this year for the Britannia cruise to the Baltic. We will also be cancelling or changing a cruise in July on Iona to the Med.
  21. If they did it was kept very very quiet. There were certainly NO restrictions whatsoever on the ship....no masks, no self distancing, serve yourself food...in fact very little hygiene visible from passengers and not many seemed to use the anti bacterial dispensers scattered around.
  22. I was going to book another Iona cruise in Sept but have swapped to the Britannia instead. We have one booked for the Fjords next year but have cancelled that. It looks like we may well be looking for another cruise line that has at least a vague idea of customer relations. I am afraid that P&O are becoming one of the worst cruise lines out there. Each cruise is a mystery cruise so what is the point of an itinery?
  23. G218 has not been changed on the website. It shows Geiranger stop as afternoon and depart early evening...not Geiranger Fjord but Geiranger itself. Cruises after 218. ie 220, 221 and 222 distinctly show Iona going to Geiranger for most of the day. Is this NOT mis-selling if they are not going there? If I was to book any of these cruises to go there and P&O knew they were not going there would that not be mis-selling?
  24. It may do on some cruise companies but Iona didn't do any testing on our Fjord cruise. In fact there were no restrictions whatsoever.
  25. I believe on-board testing no longer takes place.
