  1. Greg, could you kindly tell me how to find your website? I think it's in here somewhere, but 100 pages is a lot to sift through.
  2. Paxlovid is only prescribed for the worst of cases. My doctor suggested I not take it for a relatively mild case because the side effects of it were worse than COVID.
  3. Do you realize how many destinations there are? It would be a full time job just to keep up with it. At what point are people responsible for themselves anymore? It's pathetic the amount of hand holding people need and expect.
  4. She did say she got the email from NCL, so those appear to be her flights. I find it strange it's so early too. Usually the email means they are final, but who knows what could happen.
  5. It's not about safety. Both are having labor disputes and stikes are happening off and on or in the case of KLM ground crews, threated to happen very recently. I'm just suggesting you keep an eye on the situation. That can go on for months, even years while they duke it out. Transportation strikes of all sorts are common in Europe. Then again, they could resolve it and everything is fine. There may be no problems at all when you fly. I just want you to be aware. American and Southwest have been in negotiations for 3 years. They can't strike right now because of mediation, but if mediation ends (it's coming up on one year soon), it's going to be a problem for people flying as they have already authorized strikes through their unions. I'm praying that doesn't happen because they are my carriers for my next flights. I'm keeping an eye on it so I don't get caught in a sticky situation. I already know what alternate airlines and flights will get me where I need to go should something happen. I'm a planner.
  6. All I can say is WOW! I would have never done that to my children. If this cruise is so important to you, by all means, take it. Find a reliable family member near home to care for your kids while you are gone. You, and they, will be happier. Apparently, you have not seen the horrific tale of the woman who left her kids onboard and didn't make it back and the ship left without her? You could be one accident from leaving your kids onboard without a parent. Is that really a risk you are willing to take? Unreal. 3 hours away...OY!
  7. When are you cruising? Have you done any research on Air France?
  8. I am not a "staunch defender" of NCL. I had one of the worst cruses ever on the Getaway. I just don't get on here and gripe about it though. I've had my ups and downs with NCL. I sailed with Carnival in May too (b2b 3rd & 4th with them). So bad even the Carnival faithful (platinum and diamonds) were telling me how bad it was and I should try another ship. I didn't get on here and gripe about that one either. Even with all the things that happend on those 2 cruises, we still managed to have fun. The ports were great! Every time you cruise post C, you never know what you are going to get. You just have to roll with the punches and hope it gets better. Just because my cruise was off, doesn't mean it will be that way next week. Why should I taint someone's view? What I am a staunch defender of is not jumping on a bandwagon because you heard something bad, especially if you have no experience yourself. Thousands of people fly with that program every week. You only hear the bad though and God forbid I say it's not all bad, right? I mean, we can't have that. Are you also calling out all the others who have said they've had good luck with NCL air, or is it just me? I've had my fair share of troubles flying outside NCL air too. It's just the way it is. I just pick myself up and move on, grateful for another day on this side of the dirt.
  9. I've only heard of it and have never used it and right now, I can't find it either. I may be (gasp!) wrong. Or perhaps they used to and don't anymore. That's possible too, old info. I've only sailed with them post C. With that said, that means all air goes through the air/sea program where you have no control. If it was so expensive, why did you use it? Was it still cheaper than booking your own?
  10. NCL will let you pick your flights too if you use their premium air program. We are talking about free at sea discounted air and that's where the confusion sets in. It's well known that using the program means you give up control, cross your fingers and hope for the best. What happened to Greg is terrible. They should allow for a longer connection times. Thousands of people use this program every week. Unfortunatly, one bad press deal like Greg's is all it takes for everybody to jump on the "NCL BAD" bandwagon. I get it, but not everyone is having experiences like that.
  11. Did you apply for status match on MSC? They will match your highest cruise loyalty with the closest to their own. I don't know what that gets you, but I'd find out. The catch is you lose it if you do not sail with them again in a certain time period. I don't remember what that is.
  12. We love traveling but getting back and forth these days is not fun at all.
  13. You cannot change the flight times. He did call NCL, but got the standard "it's within the paramaters" line they all seem to be using.
  14. I have read a few comments from others who are clearly more seasoned fliers than I that those policies are set by the airport or possibly the airline. If you go back and read the post by Celi, you will see Princess uses the same line about connection time. It seems to be standard. I didn't say it was right, but they all seem to be using the same standards. I don't think it's enough time either, but I don't make the rules. Picking your own flights means nothing. In August, we were stuck in an airplane in Vegas for 2 hours waiting for weather to clear in Denver. Missed our connection and had to be rebooked. Spent hours in the airport we did not really want to spend in the airport, but you can't control it so you roll with it.
  15. No. What airline and where are you flying? Are you sure you don't already have assigned seats and that's a cost to upgrade to business class? I would call the airline if it were me.
  16. You don't have to purchase CruiseNext. If you want to sail with NCL again, you can purchase a CruiseFirst any time you want. If you have not been to St. Thomas or St. Lucia yet, you should go. Beautiful. There's nothing like taking the tram up to the scenic overlook in St. Thomas and having a Bushwhacker. I still think about that drink.
  17. I have flown NCL air with United, Delta and upcoming American and Southwest. I have been able to log into the airlines websites and pick seats, pre-purchase baggage, whatever I've needed to do. It's never been an issue.
  18. As I have posted in other places here, we are going on our 4th time using NCL Air in October. We've had no issues. We understand the program because we took the time to read the terms, we use the 2 day diversion going in, hope for the best and prepare for the worst. We have saved A LOT of money booking air through NCL. I'll take my savings and book some awesome excursions I might not have otherwise. You need to be flexible and go with the flow. As Julig22 points out, stuff happens and you can't blame NCL for things out of their control. Air travel is a mess these days. There is no guarantee your own booked flights will go any better. Also, it's my opinion nobody should be traveling without a good insurance policy. Too much can go wrong very quickly. We travel enough that we decided to purchase an annual plan from Allianz.
  19. He didn't. He didn't go through customs in Vancouver so he had to go through customs in Toronto before he re-entered the U.S. It's really about declaring all the things you bought and them making sure you did not exceed the allowance and owe more money.
  20. Why aren't you going? You don't trust her? She doesn't trust you? If that is the case, you are in the wrong relationship. 4 1/2 months is not enough to change your life over, for either of you.
  21. When we came back from Panama through Atlanta, we had a similar experience. Customs was a breeze. We even had to collect our luggage, go through customs and turn our luggage back in (all in the same room) and I'll bet it was 20 minutes all in. Straight up to the boarding gates and boom! I was shocked how fast it was. If we didn't have to collect luggage, customs alone would have been 5-10 minutes. I'm sure it's based on these experiences and not the bad ones. lol
  22. United and Air Canada are partner airlines. He may have been able to make it home sooner on a different United flight had it not been for the shut down. I'm glad he's back too. By the way, I've heard NCL uses a computer to book flights. I don't know it it's true, but a person may not have done it. If a computer did do it, they need to fix the program!
  23. Hardly any direct flights from here. By the way, we're just up the road a spell in KS. 94 here. Too hot for September.
  24. Time for an Air Tag. It's really nice knowing where your luggage is.
