For those of you that have cruised on a Viking AK cruise this year, how was the embarkation process? From the research I have done, it looks like we enter through a large beige warehouse type building and then walk across some pavement to the little red tent and board the ship. I am wondering if you recall how long the process takes from start to finish? I know it could be different when we cruise in September so I'm not expecting the same results. Sail date 9/7 and room type is a PV1

We like to meet new people when we travel. Are you ever given the option to randomly sit at a table with people you don’t know?

I have been watching YouTube videos about "what to pack" and "things I packed and didn't use". I like that you are basing your list on reviews and feedback from this year. That is really smart 🙂 I have a very similar list. I would include some magnetic hooks to help store stuff in your rooms. I'm also think of taking some packages of Wet Wipes so that we can use them on the go or keep them in our pockets while on the boat.

I'm making my way through 4 pages of comments now. We have similar planning and spending styles. I used a credit card to purchase the cruise and then was able to apply those points to our flights to Anchorage. I am also using hotel points for our 2 night stay in Anchorage. Quick question, do you recommend any specific threads/topics on TripAdvisor to help with planning? I also check CC almost daily for updates 🙂

Hello. I am not sure of your budget, but Viking has smaller ships with less than 1000 customers. They seem to offer a lot of luxury items. However, I do not know if your kids would find it interesting. We are sailing with them in September and we are in our 40s but it does appear that most of the guests on these cruises are 50+ yrs in age.
