  1. It is your room key and yes that is the exact issue. We had some very long conversations with my girls about this. Including that if they used it on the yellow games (the ones not included) those charges would have to be repaid by them. They were very good about it and no yellow swipes were made.
  2. For us it was worth it. We had a 13 year old and 7 year old girls on the Breakaway last week. There wasn't a lot for them to do on the ship so this was a fun alternative. We did the weekly pass and it definitely was worth it for them. On the Breakaway the pass worked on any games that did not provide tickets. There were some vr games, mariokart, air hockey, some shooting games, guitar hero. hope that helps.
  3. So this is new to me. I have my first upcoming cruise with NCL. I assume the color is different for the number of cruises? Is Haven a different color as well? Thanks.
  4. Darn it. That is very helpful information. Thanks. This trip report has already been so helpful.
  5. Very important question: did the arcade card work for that skeeball machine I see? If yes, that might mean we get a card. 🙂
  6. We will be on the Breakaway on the 25th with a 13 year and 7 year old so looking forward to reading this.
  7. I will be on the Breakaway in two weeks and I am a bit worried about the food but then I remember that I will not have to cook for myself or others for a week so you know what I am fine with it. 🙂
  8. I am not surprised by the collapsing buckets not being allowed. They shouldn't be. No pool toys are allowed on almost all cruise lines. It does cause a problem with water on the desk. I am sorry you didn't have an enjoyable cruise but most of these things are not things that NCL can manage or control. I have to say I don't really understand complaining about elevators. If you need to use an elevator because you cannot take the steps okay I can see needing to use them but they are what they are. Honestly I am impressed they were able to accommodate a group of 14 at all.
  9. Thank you so much. So last question (for now :)) should we have received luggage tags in the mail? The ones I printed off are printing weird. Thanks.
  10. Quick question on Port Arrival and Check In Time. So I should know this but you all are so knowledgeable. We will be on the Breakaway at the end of February. Two parties. Myself and family in a Deluxe Owners Suite and my parents in an adjoining Haven room. I checked in yesterday and the earliest available time was 11. As Haven can we arrive earlier than that or is that our time? Thank you so much all.
  11. Thank you so much for doing this. Going on Breakaway last week of February. Getting nervous that there will not be a ton for my kids to do (7 and 13). The oldest was really looking forward to Six so that is too bad. But all of this info is super helpful.
  12. As said I above, I always take a picture of everyone's passports and then leave the passports in the safe. They should be fine with just their ship card.
  13. I believe they have Truly which truthfully I cannot stand. So there is a spiked seltzer type option but not a good one.
  14. Yep definitely get a bubble bum. That is what we use for all travel and it is amazing. Available on Amazon.
  15. Thank you. It is more the activity and doing it with other people than just trying new drinks. On Disney they have tastings which are tasting seminars where you taste 3-5 different types of the item while you learn about the spirit. Thanks everybody.
  16. Thanks. We understand that there would be an upcharge and okay with that. Thanks for the info.
  17. Good morning everyone! We will be on the Breakaway out of New Orleans at the end of February. We will be in the Haven (which for purposes of this question I do not think matters). We have done a few cruises before on Royal and Disney. Our first on NCL. On Disney my husband and I did a few alcohol tastings. Whiskey, Wine, Mixology, tequila that kind of thing. It was a fun way for us to try something new, learn something. Do you know if NCL does anything like this? Thanks as always.
  18. Depending on what week they are going this might not be true. We will be on the Breakaway with kids the last week of February as that is a break week for New Hampshire so just a heads up. 🙂
  19. This really is such a helpful thread. We will be on the Breakaway end of February with myself, husband, 13 year old and 7 year old (in a Deluxe Owners Suite) and my parents in an adjoining suite in the Haven. I will say the comments regarding kids make me extremely nervous and worried about how my family will be perceived. We absolutely will not allow the kids to go onto the sundeck. My assumption is that there is no reason they would need to be there. One challenge with a few of the Disney ships is that to get to the concierge area (without having to walk to the other end of the ship) you do have to walk through the adult outside area. So we would do that with the kids but we as quick as we could. Will I allow my kids to use the pool and the hot tub. Yes will I allow them to hog it no. Will I allow them to spend time with their grandparents in the lounge of course. I will try my hardest to have them behave but I would also hope others would understand that they are kids. So my point of posting this is just to say thank you for all of the information. We just got the form for us to fill out for our haven suite for our cruise so just now need to decide on the liqour choices for the grown ups. 🙂
  20. I think I may have misunderstood, if it was a gift I would say go. It is not a long cruise and you will be able to spend time with the grandkids. If it was not a gift and the room was just booked and expected that you pay for it and you really do not want to go I would suggest your wife going solo wither in their room or a solo room.
  21. Sthrngary, that is an interesting point about the power going off in the suite. I wear hearing aids that charge over night by being plugged in. I wonder how I will get around that. If I keep the key card in the slot, and just turn the lights off will that work?
  22. Follow up question on this. If both adults have the drink package, do the kids in the room need to have a soda or Starbucks package? and if so can one have the soda and the other the Starbucks?
  23. I am booked on the breakaway out of new Orleans in February
  24. That is my type of kid. I appreciate that ability to do that. I am 45 and I have a hard time being with strangers like that.
  25. Thank you for this. I will save this and come back to it. We will be in Haven in a Deluxe Owners Suite with my parents next door on the Breakaway in February of next year. We will have a 13 year old and a 7 year old. I have to say after we booked it I started reading all of these comments on another site about how much people hated having kids in Haven and how they shouldn't be there. I have to say those comments really concerned me. I appreciate your comments on kids in the first post here. My kids are not angels. Will they potentially have a meltdown. Yes. Will I ignore their meltdown. No. Will they swim in the Haven pool. Yes. Will I leave them alone in the Haven pool. No. I hope my kids and we as their parents behave the way that we should. 🙂 Thank you for all of the advice.
