Just know I’m feeling for you. I checked the itinerary the other day and it was one of my favorite. I truly hope that you have great weather on the replacement. But really hope that you can get the needed time to join the Sun. Fingers crossed.

I think you should have said that you paid $75 for your ten day cruise first before saying I was wrong. You got a deal! When I stated what I did I had looked at the prices offered for my sailing later this year. It’s $174.93, that’s $24.99 per day for a 7 day cruise. I paid $111.93 for my sailing on Ascent.

I booked on Princess. Their internet, beverage package and so called premier packages are more than Celebrity. The deals and prices prior to 3/13/2020 are truly a relic of the past. And to believe that inflation has not influenced this is foolish. And to believe no solo will do what they want with ‘their’ money is equally foolish.

Stayed here. Proximity was cool. Older hotel, and there was a problem with elevators, but I comp’d so I couldn’t complain.

I priced the Sun Princess as a solo in the desired room that I wanted… same results. Going to pay unless I want a small inside room, which I don’t.

I only take offense to the word, “desperate” being used for someone who books knowing of the pricing differences between single and double occupancy. I for one am not desperate. I prefer the esthetic of the ships, as well as the good food. I’ve recently started following Princess threads and I can’t help but to see the same ugly plates and entrees that I remember from Carnival. Just like my old economics professor said, “price is driven by supply and demand.” Where you won’t pay, there’s truly another to take your place.

I met Rony on the first day, Christmas Eve. I had just stopped by to drop my bags. He was super kind, especially when he told me that the rooms weren’t ready. I saw him on the hallway working all day and night for the next seven days. They work tirelessly and I appreciated his service.

You have to realize the infrastructure, maintenance and salaries of the people working there are not free. The fees while expensive have to be paid. I just see it as an added expense to my vacation budget. If I don’t want to pay I’ll just stay on the ship or go to a different part of the beach. It’s not mandatory. Go to the water park where it’s cheaper.

Cost of living is a trip. I can't call it.

While the Icon is very nice -- and those chairs in their Infinite Veranda rooms are better than Celebrity, I would never go on a ship that size. I love the RCL family, but Navigator of the Seas was enough for me. I'm not interested in the other stuff, or a ship of that size.
