  1. Could try a short flight from either MIA or FLL to MCO. Grab a shuttle or rent a vehicle for the minimum twenty four hour time period from NCO to Port Canaveral.
  2. Hit sixty five in March 2022. Been on over forty five cruises since I got hooked in May 1983 on Royal Caribbean's seven day Eastern Caribbean sailing on the Song Of America.
  3. Years ago I rented from Budget and was waiting for the shuttle to take me to their facility. People were arguing about the shuttle line. I was in no rush because I was heading to my condo in South Florida. The two Budget shuttles were packed going back and forth. A Hertz shuttle arrived and the driver was waiting for two customers. He told us he would be happy to bring us over to the Budget location. He received a generous tip for his kindness.
  4. Cruise Control Transportation, Mears or Cortrans are three widely used shuttle companies that provide service to Port Canaveral from MCO. If I'm arriving a day or two earlier I rent a vehicle at MCO and return it on embarkation day.
  5. If your looking for a beach you need to stay in Miami Beach. There's no beaches in the city of Miami. The Intercontinental Hotel is a a nice property very close to the Port Of Miami. Any hotel in Brickell is close too!
  6. If your aiming for the 11:45AM flight try being one of the first passengers off of the ship when it arrives at Port Canaveral. At the rental car shuttle area I have witnessed passengers almost coming to blows regarding the lines getting onto the shuttle buses.
  7. If your unsure about using Uber or Lyft stick with a cab. There's always plenty of them at FLL.
  8. MCO gets super busy on weekend turnaround days. I wouldn't book a flight earlier than 12 noon. I would feel a lot better with a 1:00PM or later flight.
  9. One bad accident on Interstate 95 northbound and your plans are shot. If you are one of the first passengers off the ship when you arrive at the Port Of Miami and get to the Miami International Airport Rental Car Center relatively early you have a chance of making the Prima. Personally at my age I wouldn't do it and would do another Prima sailing a week or so later.
  10. Any time after 10:00AM you will find plenty of spaces at the parking garage. Most passengers from the previous sailing should have all ready left and on there way home.
  11. You need to contact Larry's Limos directly because I have never seen a review regarding car seats in all the years I have personally recommended that company to other Cruise Critic members.
  12. I have read too many sad stories about parking in the Miami area. Vehicles have been broken into while parking at downtown Miami locations and there are many posts over the years regarding shoddy shuttle services. If your leaving on a cruise from the Port Of Miami stick with a secure location and park at the port. I have read too many unfortunate posts since I joined Cruise Critic in March 2002.
  13. Carmel and Dial 7 are recommended car services in the Metropolitan New York area. A good New Jersey company I personally use is Garden State Limo. They transport my family from Northern New Jersey to Newark International Airport all the time.
  14. Country Inn And Suites in Cape Canaveral is a nice hotel very close to Port Canaveral.
  15. Oasis of the Seas currently sails from Cape Liberty to Port Canaveral Florida as one of its stops. It has to be Port Canaveral.
  16. There have been many posts from Cruise Critic South Florida members regarding Airbnb's in the Miami area. Many condo buildings have strict regulations regarding Airbnb usage. A lot of owners advertise Airbnb!s but are not following their buildings restrictions and get caught. Customers arrive at buildings to find out they are locked out of the building. My building in Hallandale Beach Florida which is north of Miami strictly forbids it.
  17. I didn't even realize that the Alamo Eller Drive location was closed. Right now the easiest solution is the fifteen to twenty dollar cab ride over to the FLL Rental Car Center. Rental car prices are currently still expensive.
  18. Walking between terminals is tough depending on how much luggage you have and how hot it is that day. Easiest way to get from one terminal to another is grab a cab, tip the driver well and be pleasant.
  19. Free shuttle service from Port Everglades to FLL were discontinued at least four years ago. Some rental car companies will shuttle you to their facilities just outside of the terminal entrance. I personally know that Alamo has a shuttle to there Eller Drive location. If you need to pick up a vehicle at FLL Uber, Lyft or a cab are the way to go. A cab should run you less than twenty dollars plus tip.
  20. All three flights give you plenty of time to disembark the ship and make it to the airport with extra time to spare. The 3:00PM flight would be my choice.
  21. Head up to the Viking Crown Lounge one night before dinner. Sit down and order a drink and ask one of the bar stewards to bring the ring when they bring the cocktails. I think that location would be the perfect place, especially during a quiet time up there.
  22. It's easier to take an Uber, Lyft or cab from the Port Of Miami to the Miami International Airport Rental Car Center which is located across from Miami International Airport. Every major rental car company has an office there. There's usually plenty of inventory and better pricing. As I have said on many previous posts the downtown Miami locations are too small and too busy on turnaround days.
  23. There are hotels near MIA that have cruise packages and charge a fee for leaving your vehicle there while your on your voyage. They are located in the Blue Lagoon area of Miami. Some hotels will be able to shuttle you to Port Of Miami for a fee per person.
  24. The downtown Miami locations are very busy on turnaround days. The offices are small and get very busy. A cab from the port to the facilities will save you some time. I know that Avis, Budget and Hertz have downtown locations.
