  1. We were on the Star E633 had beds on the side wall a couple of weeks ago.

Although fire door next to us, really wasn't bothered by the noise outside.Felt like the cabin may have been a little bit wider.

Most of the cabins around us had the same configuration. Noticed as we got more midship, there seem to be some with beds under the window.

Cabins were so much smaller, was really pleased we had the bigger cabin.

  2. Recently booked a 14 day caribbean cruise. It was sold as 7 day cruises

or one 14. Price was better for us to book as 14 day. When I look at my cruise history after I booked it(shows as pending cruise), it shows 2 credits instead of one. In the past I had to see Circle host on board or call Princess to give me the extra credit. It appears no longer necessary to do this.

    We have one booking number.

  3. On Princess we are fortunate to have a nice amount of OBC so would never prepay.

A good alternative to a big credit card bill is to bring cash and deposit it

to your account once on board.

For us, the convenient credit card charge works best.

  4. Cruise Rader,

The time I moved it, I actually saw the person put it in the hall. This happened twice. I know that people putting out trays in the hall, not only are thoughtless, but they can and do put it near someone else's door. I had a near miss with this once, so I really get annoyed when I see someone do this. Another time I knocked on a door. Told the people they forgot something, and told them to bring it back inside.

  5. It is nice to be outside for sailaway.

We had early, but decided on missing dinner in dining room and going to Horizon court after the sailaways(11 day cruise), so only missed dining room 2 times. There was so much entertainment going on the ship (The Star) that eating early was the way we were able to see and do it all.

  6. Half Moon Cay and Princess Cay very similar.

Half Moon Cay seemed larger and more spread out(especially the cabanas). Better deal on the Cabanas there. For us, we skip Cabana. Once we did the Clam Shell on Princess and really didn't need it. If you get off the ship early, you will be able to find shade . There are covered areas with lounge chairs. Most people don't care about being in the sun, and take lounges close to the water.

The beach isn't very deep so doesn't matter where you sit.

  7. We were on the same Star cruise.

Were the first to be let into the terminal a little past 11:00am.

No table set up to check in wine when we went past security. Looks like they had one later. We are Elite, directed to special Elite area upstairs to wait. There was coffee and pastries for us.

  8. I appreciate Princess' Stewards and the service we receive.

We have no problem walking past the carts. What I hate are the idiots that put their Room service trays out in the hallway, not in the little area outside their door, but totally in our path. Someone is going to not be looking down and there is going to be a major accident.Trays should be left in cabin. I assume our cabin Steward removes it. However, if room service is called, I am sure they would take care of it.Whenever I see a tray in hall, I move it in the little alcove by person's cabin door.If anyone is to trip, might as well be the guilt party.

On Holland America, there is a notice in cabin that room service trays will be picked up so not to put in hallway. They know who ordered and they come with a huge cart and pick up all the trays.

  9. Wow, got a new update on my Dec booking (14 day cruise)from my travel agent. Went down $400.00 a person. Big savings of $800.00 total for two of us.

I saved a bunch of cruises that interested me in my personalizer.

A couple went down about $100.00 but nothing as dramatic as the one I have booked.

  10. Last year when we left the ship in Vancouver, took ship's transportation to Seattle. Never had to claim our luggage as it was loaded on the bus before we even boarded(special tags for this).

Bus was sealed so when we got to U.S. border, didn't have to exit bus or offload luggage. Straight to airport in Seattle, luggage taken off bus (thank goodness it was actually there). It was so easy. No huge lines with people or luggage in Vancouver.

However, the best and easiest disembarkations are in Seattle and San Francisco.:D

  11. I transferred to travel agent and it is a cruise with non refundable deposit. Trasferring doesn't change the terms, all remain the same,

you lose nothing. If the booking is cancelled, you lose deposit, no matter who has booking.

I transfer bookings all the time .

  12. Just returned home from cruise on Star Princess. Glacier Bay.

Before this cruise would have said Glacier Bay as we had done both in the past. It has been 7 years since Glacier Bay. I was surprised how much smaller it appeared. We had lots of fog and rain. The Glacier did Calf with the thunderous sound(really nice).

The scenery last year (2013) on the approach to Tracy Arm was incredibly beautiful. So my opinion, doesn't really matter much but

next time will go to Tracy Arm again.

  13. One time went to iron wrinkles out of my husband's shirt and all the irons were taken in laundrymat. We were ready to get dressed. So he took my flatiron(for my hair), I held his shirt up and he ironed it. Worked great.Flat irons get very hot and heat up quickly.

Princess doesn't allow Iron's or steamers anymore and if discovered, may be confiscated till end of cruise.

  14. We did that cruise on the Star last year. Even though we had a balcony cabin, spent most of our time on deck. We were on for the full 30 day cruise so saw lots of Glaciers, incredible views etc. Love The Star, in fact will be on her again in 4 days(Alaska). Sailed on this ship 5 times. And this time took an obstructed view cabin.

  15. Thanks for the Review. We board next month and are very excited.

Last year on the Royal, we had fixed dining early, had the worst wait

staff we ever had on a cruise. Between courses(and it took very long), dirty dishes remained on the table. It got so bad that one night I gathered up the plates myself (table for 6). Wow, the Waitress came running at that point.I meant it as a joke, not to upset the wait staff. Eventually we did say something to the Head Waiter. He sent additional help .

  16. Make sure you have British money(Pounds). I usually get some before I leave

so I can take a cab from airport on arrival.

Travel scale- don't want to come home paying a huge charge for overweight luggage.

Outlet in bathroom on the ship is only for shavers, don't plug anything else in there.
