  1. Have had that cabin as well as C752 several times. Panoramic views.Totally covered balcony.

Also had this cabin a few times on Caribbean Princess, basically same ship as the Ruby.

When we had it for Alaska on the Star, hardly wanted to leave the balcony,

incredible viewing. Did get seasick last sea day. Otherwise for Alaska moves slow and viewing incredible. Brought our lunches back to cabin every day and sat outside. Even if it rains, get very little that comes on your balcony. Had cabin for Hawaii a few times too . Lucky you that you were able to snag this cabin, the most perfect one for Alaska.

  2. If never have cruised Princess and thinking about it, then I can see the need to see Patters and what activities one might expect.

I see most of the posts here are from people not that familiar with the line so now I can see why they would like to see it in advance.

Sometimes we forget when we cruise often, that most people aren't doing the same.

  3. I never understand why people want to see the activities in advance.

If there is a change in Cruise Directors these activities can change.

I personally like to be surprised and have no need to see it all in advance.

Would that make you cancel an already booked cruise?

Maybe it helps make a decision if you haven't booked.

As far as food is concerned, it is so subjective that I draw my own conclusions on this. We all have very different eating habits and diets.

We cruise Princess often. Sometimes same ship a few months later, food may not be as good. But as a whole, we always find something we love to eat.

  4. I totally agree with you Kruisey. I was prepared to pack my coffee mugs and carry my coffee back to cabin. Use to do this and have burned my hands more than once.

Worse than the charge for breakfast in cabin is they were going to charge for the complimentary fruit basket. So dumb.

I think it is a matter of time and we will see those charges mentioned on our cruise personalizers prior to a cruise. Princess' mistake was not notifying in advance.

  5. [B]On port intense cruises (Europe) we start our tours so early in the morning that we always order room service. We tip the guy who delivers too. It is such a very limited menu but worth not having to get up extra early to get our coffee and cereal at the buffet or restaurant.
On some other cruise lines we get a full breakfast delivered and no fee.
First thing my husband said when I mentioned $3.00 delivery he said, I guess that will be their tip from us.Not my centiments because I don't feel the staff should be dinged but will rethink room service. Will bring our large coffee mugs, run down to IC get coffee and breakfast sandwiches and bring back to cabin. As far as Alfredos, service is slow and not worth any fee for those cardboard pizzas.
I hope Princess is reading these boards.

  6. The Itinerary for the Royal very different than the Regal on the Transatlantic. It is Northern route, less sea days, more ports and ends in NYC. We are on that one. That Northern route is very popular and combined with Baltics cruise before it, a fabulous itinerary.

  7. [B]Had something stolen from a bag of purchases on a tour bus.
Guide said to leave things on bus when we went to lunch.
I had my shopping bag closed up, came back and it was wide opened.
This bus was locked when we went to lunch. Noticed a couple of ladies lingering when we all got off the bus. I noticed as soon as we reboarded
that my stuff was taken, bag was wide opened and moved. It was a laquor box (Purchased in St. Petersburg). Doubt that the bus driver would have done it as he got off with us too. Sad that we can't trust our
    fellow passengers.

  8. Another big problem is allowing people to have a fixed table the whole cruise in anytime dining. This really cuts down on the seating available for anytime dining people. On our last cruise on the Island Princess, more than half the dining room had fixed diners. We were one of them. Unfortunately friends we were traveling with saw the Matre'D first day

and changed us to this situation. I didn't like it, had to eat at 5:15

but didn't want to allienate our friends so went along with this.

I have seen this happening on other ships as well. We prefer eating anytime.

  9. Right before my last cruise in April I found a very old coffee card that we bought in 2008. It still had 7 punches(looks different than current card).

Was going to throw it away but brought it with me. Still was good for specialty coffees. I was surprised they took it.

I have several cards currently as I also turned in Mini bar setup on a few cruises where we got 2 setups for being in a suite and Elite.

  10. We have found when you are in about the 300 range, good chance for Panama Canal full transit, Alaska, and 7 day Caribbean. We made it on all of those. When it comes to longer cruises, not a chance for us.

West coast cruises not in the cards for us either. The big time cruisers stay on for several cruises at a time.

  11. Salt free for me and it worked fine.

One night I wanted a cheese suflee. Well, I got something that looked like everyone else's however it was whipped egg instead of cheese. Cheese has salt so it is a no no.

Also one night wanted French onion soup. Again it looked almost the same but minus cheese.

Princess goes out of their way to accommodate.
