  1. Anyone know which CCL ships this is currently on? Is the app on all ships or just the ones with a kiosk? I'm specifically looking for Carnival Horizon.
  2. Agreed 💯. On Carnival you would see so many more drink transfers from one person to another. Person with Cheers goes to the bar, brings back a White Claw for "non-drinking" spouse. I would agree it is not the best plan for those of us that truly have a companion that does not drink much and would actually follow the plan rules and not share with others. However, knowing the customer base, I can see 💯why Carnival has to set the policy the way they do.
  3. This was pretty my experience on my last cruise on the Freedom - but they were doing assembly line handing out of the Plain Jane with fries only. Not just no customizations - but no other menu items. Want the Pig Patty or Ringer - tough. Don't want fries - tough. Don't want a bun - tough. Not sure if it was a new crew or they could not keep up with demand, but it seemed like there was always a long line and wait everytime I walked by.
  4. I called over the weekend for my MIL as she was considering a scooter for our next cruise and it was the same response as Heald stated. If you bring it with you, it has to fit inside the cabin or you can not board. I was told any of the Scootaround cruise options would fit for a standard non-accessible room. I am curious to see if this becomes just another unenforced Carnival rule. I fully agree with this rule as the hallways are already narrow and add in all the scooters sitting in the hallways along with all the steward cleaning carts, it has become very difficult to walk on decks with cabins.
  5. Like others have kind of stated, Carnival is the "Walmart of the Seas" in both pricing and customer base. In my recent comparisons, cabin rates for RCL are higher compared to Carnival. I just tried to build out a budget as the wife wanted to try the new Icon of the Seas and it was $8k for just a standard balcony cabin for 2. Not saying this does not also happen on RCL, but on CCL, it is much more noticable anytime there is free alcohol involved. Whether it be the free alcohol tastings from the shops, or the old VIFP parties, it turns into an absolute ship show. I got trampled and pushed around during one of those sample tastings as I simply wanted to try something before I committed to buying it. Some people at those VIFP parties were chugging those free drinks like shots in what seemed like who could get the most drunk before the party ended. I will get a bunch of crap for saying this, but overall, RCL just has a "classier" customer base compared to Carnival.
  6. 5,000 points last cruise still gets me return offers for free interior/ocean view (or upgrade to balcony at very reduced rate) and DOU while playing. I get a little salty hearing about all these people that qualify for DOU everywhere 🤣.
  7. My last cruise last April on the Freedom, I purchased Cheers! in advance because the plan going in was to not spend the entire cruise in the casino, and I like to get drinks outside of the casino. So on day 2 (sea day), I easily got bored and the plan was ruined 😄. I ended up past 1,500 points the morning of day 3, and was never approached by anyone from the casino or received anything in cabin. That is rare from past experiences as my slots and table games play usually warrants a introduction from the casino manager, getting offered DOU on day 2, and snacks in the room for the rest of the cruise at a minimum. At day 6, I am around 5,000 points, and still no one has even bothered to say anything to me. I am playing one of the table games and I just happen to ask the pit boss if I am eligible for any comps in lieu of DOU since I already purchased Cheers! Maybe comp just my steakhouse meal that night? Maybe send me 4 wilted strawberries on a plate? Anything? Snap response was no. Said my play would possibly qualify me for return offers, but I was not eligible for anything else that cruise 🤯. I do not play for comps, but that was an absolute joke.
