  1. I am so sorry you went through that and what you experienced is reprehensible. I would hope you put this (and other issues on your cruise) in a formal letter to NCL. Especially as an Ambassador level client, they would want/need to have these concerns addressed. I’m happy with letting it go for us, and as I’ve mentioned, we have so many other things planned (shorex glacier, Jayleen, etc.) and it’ll be our 1st time seeing these ports, that it’s an easy trade-off to be augmented with Andalie’s treatments instead!
  2. Or it seems there is also a 3rd option… As noted by me in another Price Drop thread in this forum, I noticed a change in my sailing costs after final payment, and at approximately 3 weeks before sailing. This was originally a CAS booked sailing for a balcony cabin, which I paid to upgrade into a suite. The NCL rep actually offered $310 in OBC for my sailing, which reflects online in my booking now.
  3. Once again, I can’t thank you enough for all of your insights and the sharing of your adventures with Dad. Based on your life ring scale (hilarious!), I’ve just gotten off the phone w/NCL and cxld/refunded our Thermal 7-days. We’ll use that $$$ w/Andalie for massages instead, which sounds far better.
  4. I wonder if they’re replacing the Goose with another brand? (not a big deal for me as I actually prefer the Chopin in a martini with a few olives, but I do like a Goose & Club Soda) And this is a good reminder for me, I will absolutely request the same from ours:
  5. It seems like it would impact the aft/port side, but you would know for sure!
  6. Are you sure? Here's mid-ship to aft for Deck 12 on the left and Deck 11 on the right...
  7. I like her rules. This is also why I threw in FAS+ and Thermal Spa for the week into my cart. I like top shelf and I like to relax (no Vibe on the Jewel), so if you’re (aka me) going to do it, do it right if you can afford it and more importantly, if it has value to your specific cruising experience.
  8. Fascinating thread, and everyone’s choices are right for them. I started with a “free” balcony sailing via CAS for our Alaska cruise on the Jewel next month, club balcony was available at time of booking for only $60 more/per person, so booked that. $120 addtl to base fare. Then I started researching more and realized that 1) we’re not cruisers and this is probably a one and done and 2) the aft facing suite category came with so many more perks (priority boarding/B&Ls in Moderno & Cagneys/glacier viewing invites on Haven sundeck/butler & concierge service/daily treats and elevated service/etc etc) that it seemed like a no-brainer to me for my double nickels bday to pull the trigger for $3k total. So for $214/pp/per day, will it be worth it? I dunno, but I also don’t care, because it’s my bday and I wanted it. 😉
  9. I wonder if they’re replacing the Goose with another brand? (not a big deal for me as I actually prefer the Chopin in a martini with a few olives, but I do like a Goose & Club Soda)
  10. bwahahaha, YES! I read that post (and saved her name in my trip notes) to my husband (who loves deep tissue) and he completely agrees.
  11. We’re following your lead, of course. Let’s see… Hubbard Glacier excursion/boat thingy. Gondola at Icy Strait. Streetcar in Skagway. Jayleen’s whale watching in Juneau. Sea crab in Ketchikan. FAS+ locked in, Thermal Spa passes secured, and looking forward to making friends with our butler and concierge. Dinners booked are Teppenyaki, Cagney’s, La Cucina and Le Bistro. The rest we will play by ear. Your advice that I’ve gleaned from your reports is invaluable, thank you so much! (Especially since my husband is also a vegetarian, so that aspect has helped immeasurably in my planning too)
  12. OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!! These pictures are amazing!!! Welcome home and I hope you’re finally feeling a bit better. All of these posts today are just amazing, thank you again for sharing your adventures with Dad! I love the pics of you both with the crabs, but I have to say, Dad’s birthday towel cake made me tear up a little bit and I’m so happy he loved it too! (His real cake is even more stunning!) This morning I awoke at the 21 day mark with an email to check-in from NCL for our 6/3 sailing on the Jewel and I have my fingers crossed for a towel cake too! (Our sail date is my actual bday and your father and I also share the same first name)
  13. No, and with the full day in Nassau (and waterslides at Atlantis), this looks more like a family/kids cruise than anything. Especially with the possibility of Thanksgiving break happening around that time, although I don’t know what day it falls on this year and would be heavily school dependent upon their time off.
  14. The only one upset given your comments seems to be you. The more bubbles the better, for everyone, regardless of package purchased. Great intel on Magnum’s too, I’ll give that a try in June and report back!
  15. The question was whether Veuve is included in the premium plus package. As I posted in my screen shot above, it is not. The exception to availability in Le Bistro had already been posted by Coastalbreezes before you chimed in, so there was no reason to include information that had already been covered. I find CC to be all about the specifics and semantics, so here we are. Happy Cruising and may the bubbles be always in your favor.
  16. That was not the question. Pommery Rose is included in the package, Veuve is an exception in Le Bistro and not available elsewhere onboard without a charge.
  17. Well, tell that to the folks on the Prima that stopped there on April 23rd from St. Thomas. Who knows, maybe it's dependent upon traffic and berth availability on each specific day?
  18. This seems like the most relevant place to drop this info.: We're sailing on the Jewel on 6/3 (24 days still sailing date as of today), and I noticed on the pricing/calendar grid that there was a small price drop between the balcony and suite categories (I had originally applied a CAS free balcony cert for the sailing, and then paid the differential to upgrade to the suite category). I called in as I was hopeful that I could pick-up a few hundred $$$ in a FCC, but surprisingly the agent offered to do it as onboard credit instead. I just looked at the booking online and she's applied On-Board Credit Certificates for $155/per, so $310 total. For 15 minutes on the phone, not a bad deal. (2) for $100/per, (2) for $50/per and (2) for $5/per.
  19. NCL Brass will want this settled as quickly and quietly as possible, which means a generous settlement and an NDA on the terms. I can almost guarantee you that is what will happen here, and none of us will know the outcome. That’s why they flew there and are handling this in person. The alternative PR that would result from this moving forward in the court of public opinion, and/or law all but makes it a fait accompli. It’s really that simple.
  20. What are you talking about?!?! He attacked 5 people, one of which was a 75 year old female passenger who was stabbed with scissors in her arm, hand and face. That's serious. He's been apprehended by the FBI and senior NCL execs are now onsite to deal with the repercussions. https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/cruises/2024/05/08/norwegian-cruise-employee-allegedly-stabbing/73612484007/
  21. Horrific, and I feel terrible for that passenger and her family/friends who were likely traveling with her as well. Yes, depending upon the extent of her injuries (which sound bad), this will end in serious litigation, no doubt.
