About 25% of the time a slight upgrade from solo inside to outside. But some of them have been to lousy areas. The worse was right next to the elevator. The elevator itself wasn't loud all the people talking while waiting and the foot traffic passed my door was awful. Open my door and 12 people are staring at me and looking into the room. I try to not book the special single person cabins. I think the bed is uncomfortable and i have no proof but think there is no chance of getting a upgrade unless maybe you have many many points.

Rub the buttons? Are they buttons or sensors? If they are buttons fold a piece of paper into a wedge shape and jam it in the activated off switch or use tape?. For the life of me i can't even remember what cruise line i was on but i had a lamp go off and on when a half filled tall 1 liter bottle of water was near it. When the sea got rough the water would move inside the bottle and trigger the sensor i guess. If it is a sensor i wouldn't put anything on that little table. Or put a piece of paper over the off sensor-or would it be the on sensor? And button or sensor maybe you just have a faulty unit or wiring etc... Maybe i shouldn't say just or only about any possible wiring problem.

Always changing rules. Years ago in Jacksonville you would go to the customer service desk around 8am to 10am whenever you wanted and have it in 2 minutes. No leaving the ship necessary or customs check.

There is or was a tiny library area, basically a single book shelf on deck 6 i think by the photo shop and displays and i seem to recall a kids board game or two. Maybe a half dozen paperbacks and it could have been a impromptu library since there wasn't any sign. This was almost a year ago.
