  1. In a VERY general summary, it replaces the card you used to get that you would charge drinks, chips, shops to as well as open your cabin door. There is a whole section of the Princess website that explains it. There are a ton more features but I’ll let you do your own research
  2. Go to the sun thread. They talk about it there. There’s even a rumor that the first few sailings won’t have it ready until they get on the ship. You need a lot of patience when you book an early sailing of a new class of ship. Everything is new. Rolling out a 3rd or 4th version of a ship class is mostly a cookie cutter operation. But Princess has never had a specific restaurant for suites nor one for “reserved class”. Plus the MDR is like nothing Princess has ever done. They are starting from scratch here. The excitement of being the first ones on a new design comes with frustrations of being on a new design.
  3. Then yeah, no chance of getting a reservation. First it’s advertised as a 20 day cruise and then there are those that are doing a true B2B.
  4. This wasn’t a “live from”. He didn’t knowingly have Covid and continue his cruise. He had it when he returned. (Sorry all, I think this poster thought differently)
  5. There is no such thing as “booking before you board”. You most likely won’t get spaces for your first leg and will absolutely get reservations for your second. It has nothing to do with whether you book them as two 10 day segments or one 20 day segment. It’s when the reservations are available on the ship.
  6. What ship are you on? Grand class ships have a much larger sanctuary so being platinum will probably get you loungers the first week. If it’s a Royal class ship then I would be very surprised if they weren’t already sold out by the time you got there. And that’s because of all the B2Bs from the week before your first segment. And guess what, now you’ll be those B2Bs on your second segment getting all those reservations. So good luck for the first week and you are assured for the second. Again, ship name will help.

  8. We really can't know what is going on and whether it will be on time. But the complete silence from Princess (and their marketing department) on rolling out this brand new ship design is utterly baffling. And leading to all this worry.
  9. I imagine it could be any dinning room and could possibly change depending on the cruise. You might need to wait until on the ship.
  10. I’m glad you were able to cut the traffic line too as that was a cluster for us when we did it. Glad they are improving the process.
  11. Nobody on any cruise in any cabin on the Sun Princess are able to book specialty dinning yet. Right after they announced the Love dinning experience some people were able to book it. But it was a computer glitch as almost the next day they took down that ability and those that had made reservation didn’t have them anymore. Keep following this thread because as soon as people are able to again, someone will post it here.

  14. They’ve cut back so many elite perks that I can even tell what’s left! It’s almost useless to me on cruises lately! We don’t even have the satisfaction of showing off our black cards at the bar anymore! đŸ€Ș😝😛
  15. Agree with everything said here. It will be hot. But from my recollection there was only one day that I found it to be TOO hot. And we were touring a park so we just found shade. So I think it goes back to you and your tolerance for heat and then make a decision from there. We are all saying it's not too hot "for us". Can decide that for you. Enjoy. It is so beautiful there!
  16. Everyone on here is experiencing the same thing if they have a Suite booked. They just haven't added "Signature Collection" to their verbiage yet. All learning curve things we will hope are fixed by the time we sail!
  17. A perfect example of you get what you pay for. Suites are WAY better and the service is too. Celebrity is slipping a little bit in service but I'm almost over Princess. The Sun is really going to decide for us if we close our account and walk away.
  18. Head over to the Sun Princess thread to keep up with your upcoming new experience. We talked about it there. Yes on DMW it shows Reserve Collection when I was expected Signature Collection. But so is everyone else. They just don't have it in the system yet. That's what they call the Suite and "Club Class" experience on the current ships. Haven't made the change to "Signature" yet.
  19. I have 35 Princess cruises in my history and I'm ready to drop Princess too. Just heard in the Sun Princess thread that a bunch of folks from the Sky are moving to the Sun after the current cruise! The running joke on our Dec 2nd Sky cruise was "all of the good ones must have already moved to the Sun!". Now I'm worried about the "Signature" service on the Sun. I hope Princess hires some new folks to teach them about "service" or I'm done. I'm paying a lot to travel in a suite and will expect A LOT better service in the private dinning room, lounge and pool deck then what they give today!
  20. Nooooooooo!!!!!!!!! The running joke while on the Sky 3 weeks ago was "all the good ones must have been moved to the Sun already". I REALLY don't want the crew from the current Sky on the Sun. See another thread specifically about the bad service on the Sky.
  21. My opinion is that they should follow up to make sure it happens. Not just make one phone call and then wash their hands of it. They are there to fulfill requests so you don't have to call room service. We also asked for another lounger on our deck and that took 3 days to fulfill. Every day they asked us if the lounger was there yet. They should KNOW if it's there yet as they should be following up. Why have the Suite Concierge if they are not replacing what I would need to go to other departments for. Don't have these problems on Celebrity (now I've opened up a different fire storm!). Like I said, once I lowered my expectations of what they should be doing (ie nothing), I had a great cruise.
  22. And I was on the Sky the week before YOU and thought the review was spot on as well. We had the EXACT same experience at the sushi place. An hour for ANY food and then all at once. We just lowered our expectations and still enjoyed our cruise. As said, Take5 service was exceptional as was Crown Grill Bar but the rest of the crew were slow, not helpful and not really that concerned about service.
  23. Does economy allow 2 checked bags? We bring a third bag for longer cruises. Sorry, but I would rather pay for additional luggage than do laundry on vacation. I am a severe over packer but could scale it back to not do laundry. Granted, we are two men so we have more mix and match options to not pack so much. My clothes are expensive and I don't put them in the laundry at home so I definitely wouldn’t send them out on a ship. I agree, only limited items would I send out.
