Ubered for a throwback breakfast at Denny’s in honour of my father. . Now off to brave Sawgrass. Reports to come.

We are back to our room and beat. It was about a 20 minute walk. Final report of the game. panthers won 7-2. A few photos from the game. It was a multicultural even. Hockey in Florida, surrounded by French Canadians, and eating a Cuban Sandwich. I think half the fans there tonight were cheering for the Montreal Canadians. As Toronto fans we weren’t. Owen got this. Perfect seats. Tkachuk never keeps his mouth guard in. He’s always chewing on it. The winners.

Checked in. AC Marriott at Sawgrass. Here for a reason. Nice and clean. Less than 2 years old. Sofa bed.

Owen is watching the Movie 42 and I’m watching Lucky Logan. Not sure what Lisa has on. She decided to sit across the row. Maybe doesn’t want to be affiliated with us. 😅

More than happy to keep you occupied. In all honesty I’m just happy to be in the air right now. Listening and chatting with the folks seated around us at the gate there are a fair amount of people with travel issues. The retired couple across from us took the $800 offer each for the later flight. They are flying to Freeport tomorrow so they said why not. They just needed to get to FLL tonight. Their flight down was paid with points as well. They were very happy. The offer for the last 2 volunteers was $900 a person. They found a couple takers. Window with a view. We are making good time.

On the plane. Good thing Owen didn’t take the credit. We’d be short a pilot.

Boarding starts 10 minutes.

Nothing, right. 😆🫣 They have all their volunteers so Owen is safe.

Close. Very close. Just not spicy. Sweet tea for the beverage.

We are now at the gate and they need 8 people to give up their seats for the flight. They are offering $800 a person to go on the next flight. Should we take it?

Loaded. Here and now is the time to press “go”, and we are gone. Sunrise here is nice, but nothing compares to the sunsets at sea!

We are just flaked out getting ready to wind down and guess what movie is on TV? Grease. I have seen it numerous times in the Royal Theatre but never on TV. Is this an omen, or a sign to change the channel? I guess Lisa will tell me. OK, back to the scheduled material. After the Christmas festivities and days of eating, I’m not sure how we will survive a cruise, but it’s a sacrifice we’ll make. No calories on a cruise so we are good. So, who else is coming with us? What else did we do today? We knocked off all the items on the to-do list. All that said, 8am tomorrow we head to Detroit for our Delta flight to FLL. Thank goodness it isn’t Southwest. Many on my roll call have been effected, with folks changing flights to other carriers and some even driving from Chicago and Texas. Speaking of driving, these are some of games played in Canada this time of year. I’m very familiar with all of them. By the forecast tomorrow we should be OK. 🤞
