On this topic - I bid for an upgrade on 1/21-1/28/23 cruise on the Escape. When I log into NCL app & website I don't see anywhere where I can see my bid or status. Any advise please?

Of course I looked above - it doesn't answer my specific questions. Maybe I just booked it, who are you to say? It's not too late to ask anything - I was looking for helpful, friendly replies from people with knowledge and/or experience. Clearly you have neither

I have a cruise from 1/21 to 1/28 out of Port Canaveral. I chose the NCL air but I'm nervous about flights getting cancelled, delays, etc. Have the airlines gotten any better about not cancelling flights? Do you think I would get a non-stop? Should I just go the day before (but then that's an extra expense I really don't want) First vacation in over 12 years and I don't want to miss it! Also don't want to spend all my time in an airport for a 1 hr flight or spending tons of $ just to get there. Lastly, am I better off driving the 8 hours there and back and getting a refund for the air/transfer portion? Thanks

I just bid on a balcony from a studio for 1/21/23 sailing. Hoping for the win. Any balcony is better than any studio

I've been looking at the online menu for Starbucks on Escape and noticed everything looks to be iced coffee - except coffee & cappuccino. I love the white chocolate mochas, but I would like a hot one in the morning. Can they do that, does anyone know?

Sorry I should have been more clear. I was asking when the invitation to upgrade email expires.

I just received an email from NCL that I can bid on an upgrade from my studio room to ocean view or balcony. Cruise is just over 100 days out. Does this mean there will be a price drop? If so, and I bid and it's accepted will I no longer be eligible for credit? Also, is there an expiration date for the bid offer? Couldn't find it anywhere. If anyone has any tips/tricks to win a bare minimum bid or is it pure luck? Thank you

Yes, sorry. Escape

Hello: I will be on Escape end of January, 2023 and wondered if anyone can tell me their experience with LeBistro, Moderno & Teppanyaki? I have all 3 booked and wondered what you thought of the food/service/ambiance/experience? Thank you

Cost of Starbucks American coffee and Cappuccino on Spirt

Can you get a hot White Chocolate Mocha coffee or is it only iced? -
Do the specialty restaurants book up before the start of the cruise where I need to book online? Not sure what nights I want to do them (I have 3 credits 7-night cruise) My last cruise long ago I could look at each nights menus in the included restaurants and if I didn't like the menu that night I could go to the maître de for whichever specialty restaurant I wanted that day and get a table (or reservation for that night) What are the best nights to do the specialties? Sea days - I have 2, first day, last day? Thank you

Not pathetic!!!! I have the opposite experience. I will say "hi" and talk to just about anyone. If I'm on my own I'm perfectly fine with that as well. I find that I speak with a few solo people (and couples) the first day or at events and will constantly see them on the ship. I have had people ask to join my table for dinner one night, then expected me to eat all meals with them every day! I wound up having to dodge them. 😵 Sit at the bar is good advice, but speak with the bartenders!!!!! They know who is who and what is going on. As for the cabin steward, on my last Carnival cruise, the cabin steward came in (invited)for turn-down and I was in the room, he asked why wasn't I out, your on vacation! Was not rude at all. Just said I wasn't interested in events that night. He invited me and snuck me downstairs to a crew party - it was a blast!!!! Best service ever on that cruise since I got to meet most of the crew. Solo cruising is about doing what you want, when you want. I keep a vacation journal and when I feel lonely it helps to write in it as if I'm talking to friends/family about the day. Books are good to lose yourself in also.

Where are the smoking sections on Escape. I am not staying in the Haven, but can I use that area as well? Any bars/pubs have a smoking area? I'm thinking covered outside areas. Can you smoke at the back of the boat on an open deck if I bring my own ashtray? (smoke would go straight back, not all over deck area) Thank you

I just received an email from NCL stating that my name must appear exactly as it is on my docs (passport). I haven't renewed my passport yet, but I know I didn't list my middle name which is on my DL and will be on renewed passport. How do I and how big a deal is it to update my name for my docs? Thanks

Hello: I want to fly in 1 night before my 1/21/23 cruise on NCL. (free airfare) I just need a hotel room for that Friday night (1 person) because I don't trust the airlines getting me to FL on the day-of. Can anyone please recommend a clean, cheap hotel near either the airport or the cruise port I can hop a shuttle to the cruise port on Saturday? Thank you

I love cruising solo! No problem going to any restaurants or shipboard activities. I particularly enjoy watching the big tables of families arguing about what happened that day/what to do the next day. Makes me grateful for my time doing what I want, when I want. Biggest difficulties for me is trying to get a deck chair and not having it stolen the minute I get up. Also trying to eat at the buffet (which I now avoid) and getting food & a table, get up to get a drink and people are at my table, no matter what I leave on it! Last cruise (which was some time ago, I just pulled an empty chair from another table, pulled it up to my "original" table - with the "stealers" at it & sat down and started eating 😜) Small issue, is asking people to take my picture at ports/excursions. Embrace it and enjoy it!

Tipping on Norwegan breakaway and other Newby questions
travelgip replied to cruisenurse2's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Just to clarify - if I upgrade to the premium plus beverage package & prepay gratuities, am I still billed the 20% "tip" for each drink? Prepaying the gratuities covers me for no bar tab? Thanks -
I'll be there end of January 2023 and wanted to go there to swim with the dolphins and maybe do some sea lion encounter. Has anyone been here/done that & what did you think? Is it worth the money? How is the park? Thank you
