  1. Good afternoon from Molde, Norway. We had a rather bumpy ride last night after having our first meal in Club Orange. There are 2,600 pax onboard and many are from the Nederland's and lot’s of first time cruisers. Bathrobe’s are the most popular dress around the ship and in Neptune Lounge! 😁 Last night several officers were making there way around the Crow’s Nest and their specific role was to talk to guest. Nice interaction. It was a cold and drizzle day so not the best for touring but still beautiful. Tomorrow is Gerirangerfjord and the weather looks promising. Still issue’s with phone holding a charge so no pics available until it get’s recharged. @kazu Sorry about Shadow. Thanks Rich and all who contribute. Life is good on the MS Rotterdam. Tonight we dine Nami Sushi.
  2. Very short post and not sure it will send with weak signal. Just dropping lines in Eidfjord, Norway. Our morning view and Fred Olsen Bolette next to us aka former MS Amsterdam! Great time.
  3. Good afternoon from the MS Rotterdam. It’s 68 degrees outside so lot’s of activity inside. Didn’t attend the Mariner’s reception but did listen to shoreEx presentation and a well conducted lecture on Norway. The line at Guest Services is long as well as how to work or fix Navigator App line I had to log out and log back in and it’s working fine. Not sure why so many in Guest Services line but we have no complaints or issues so far. Great dinner at Rudy’s last night and tonight we are in Pinnacle. Lot’s of specialty dining this week as SIL is only aboard this week. Yesterday we turned in our two laundry bags at 3.00 PM and our cleaned clothes were back in room when we returned at 8:00 PM! That was our fastest turnaround ever and we all deny kudos to the laundry team using the Navigator App. After our busy three weeks in Scotland we are all enjoying this sea day as do nothing day! Yes, a nap is awaiting! Thanks Rich for the Daily report.
  4. Debbie, First morning out and still have very good WiFi. Hope it continues. We are in 8197 so maybe same cabin you had. Little smaller inside but love our deck and views. A little motion this morning. Great dinner at Rudy’s last night.
  5. Volendam at moor in Rotterdam. We gave three toots but no response.
  6. Getting ready for sail away. Lot’s of young folks aboard and us primary English speaking individuals may be the minority. Make’s sense we are in Europe!. All announcements in two languages. Going to be a great cruise. Tonight we dine in Rudy’s!
  7. Like I stated earlier it’s a beautiful day in Rotterdam and this is our view. The locals are hoping that tomorrow’s forecast actually brings some much needed rain.
  8. We were driven by private hire to Rotterdam and now on board the MS Rotterdam on packed and enjoying the beautiful weather on our SB aft veranda..Boarding was quick and no one seemed to care about boarding times. In fact we actually got through everything and we all questioned did anyone check our vaccination and Covid test result? We enjoyed a quiet lunch in the MDR and at 2:30 we have unpacked, sorted through three weeks of dirty laundry, visited our Muster Station and laying back and watching the river traffic awaiting sail-away. Not sure how WI-Fi will be affected but will try and keep you apprised of our daily travels. In today’s world it’s always a relief when you make it onboard through all the protocol and obstacles. Thanks Rich for the Daily and for all our friends on the Daily. Bruce
  9. Today we visited the city of Delft and The Hague. Weather again in nineties. Delft factory, old and new churches, lunch on the plaza and then over to Hague to see Prime Ministers office, Parliament and some Rembrandt and other notable art at the museum. Beautiful cities, Tonight we are having a Rjistafel dinner which is always a must have dining experience in the Netherlands. MS Rotterdam tomorrow. Interesting our guides opinion on why we have to board MS Rotterdam in Rotterdam versus Amsterdam is not because of canal conditions but because it is so much cheaper for ships to dock in Rotterdam.
  10. @kazuJacqui I just read about Shadow. I’m so sorry to hear about this and your in my thoughts and prayers. You’ve had enough sorrow and pain. Bruce
  11. We elected to do the E Med Covid test! Happiness is a negative test!😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🙏🙏🙏 We’re going cruising!🛳😎
  12. We made it to Amsterdam and all luggage arrived except one. Forty five minutes later the bag came out on the carousel! Phew! We did a walking tour today amounting to 15,000 steps and we are fatigued to say the least. It is currently 89 degrees F and the high was 91 so far! The locals are roasting and they even cancelled our Canal boat ride because it is to hot! Tomorrow we head to Delft and Hague after getting a Covid test. Found a place that comes to our hotel and performs test. Sunday we go over to Rotterdam to board the MS Rotterdam!🤞🙏 Here are some more pics from Scotland mainly of the blooming Heather.
  13. Tried to post some pics and they just did not load. Had a wonderful day along with fantastic weather. The hills and plains are turning purple as the Heather is close to full bloom. Last night in hotel with this tour. Tomorrow we will be dropped off at airport hotel and Friday we fly to Amsterdam. Sunday we board MS Rotterdam for a two week best of Norway cruise.
  14. A beautiful day in Scotland. Great countryside vistas and we stopped at some distillery’s. In Dornoch tonight staying in quaint Dornach Castle. Just a wonderful experience. Dinner is ordered and having a venison dish and gals partridge. Thanks for report and post.
  15. Visited Saint Magnus church in Kirkwall before taking ferry to mainland. Made a quick stop at the Northern most part of United Kingdom and Scotland. Spending the night in Wick, Scotland at a old but quaint Hotel Mackay.located on shortest street in the world; they claim? Saw some old castle ruins and experienced some sheep roadblocks along the way. Had a tasting at Old Pultney Distillery. Good times.
  16. Kirkwall, Scotland definitely a popular cruise port. We have had a cruise ship in port all three days. Leaving on ferry later to start our Northeast Scotland touring.
  17. Thanks everyone! Just a negative test away and making the cruise a reality!🤞🙏
  18. Last day in Orkney and it was a day of visiting some ancient sights several over 5,000 years old. Rain alluded us today and even had a wee interval of sunshine. Different topography but beautiful with green pasture lands and rugged coastline. Tomorrow it’s back on the ferry and touring Northeast Scotland. Thanks for the report and will read post later.
  19. Good afternoon or evening. We took the ferry to Orkney today on a cold and rainy dismal day. We did visit the chapel the Italian POW’s built in World War II. Churchill’s barrier to block U Boats from entering harbor and visited a couple of distillery’s to warm up and for medicinal purposes. Right now from our lodging in the Kirkwall Hotel we are watching Island Princess sail away from harbor. We will be staying here for a couple of nights so it will be nice to not have a bag drag in the morning. Not many photos today and internet is real slow. We will be heading for a libation and dinner. Enjoy the rest of your day and thanks for the report and post.
  20. Due to WiFi issues I’m late to the party! Experienced a beautiful day of touring Western edge of Scotland to most North on the Mainland. The beauty of this country is breathtaking and it’s citizens so proud, kind and welcoming. This morning we will take the ferry to Orkney for our next day of discovery. Thanks for the report and bedtime reading!
  21. We are back in the Highlands and our view from tonight’s lodging is dramatic!
  22. We had a great day of touring Harris and Lewis yesterday. We had no internet service so a day of catching up. Beautiful landscapes and seashores. Harris is very rocky but we were treated to seeing large Atlantic Gray Seals and even a Golden Eagle.Saint Clements church which was a main church for Macleod clan. Toured and old Iron House which was a reminder of how rough it must have been to survive in those days. The beauty of Scotland never ceases. Presently in Stornoway awaiting our three hour ferry ride back to the mainland. Feeling very Blessed to have experienced this beautiful country and adventure.
  23. Enjoying a great day of touring isle of Harris and Lewis. Having a lunch. The McCloud clan church of Saint Clements, Gray Atlantic seals and beautiful uninhabited topography. Of course lambs everywhere! Back to lunch.
