Let’s put it this way:  a significant portion of Carnival’s clientele prioritizes value.  It’s very possible that people who prioritize value have done so for a long time and that over those years, they have amassed enough days to achieve platinum or even diamond status.  That doesn’t mean they aren’t still cautious and frugal with how they spend their (limited) discretionary income…

Many who are reaching Platinum and Diamond now started cruising Carnival when they were a much different line.

They should outlaw that term "living wage" because it is going to vary region by region and even person by person. DW and I raised 5 sons and I suspect our living wage was higher than someone who was single, as only one example.

Without question.  It is a fallacy in the real world.

C'mon now!. It's not like there is a crew of southern grandma’s in the galleys cooking! Let's be realistic about this! Even if there was, there would be people on here complaining about it, so yea my rule, if you don't like it, then don't continue eating it and of course complain about it on here!. That’s just the cruise critic way and super helpful! I don't think it's going to change from what it is much. Move along!

Southern grandma's?   If McDonald's can out out a passable biscuit it isn't that hard.

Hmm, smoked salmon was available on the Lido breakfast buffet every time I wandered by last week on the Horizon.   (I'd have preferred another option for Eggs Benedict.)

Strange.....I can't remember lox on the Lido of any Carnival cruise I've taken in 10 years.  They have other deli meats, not lox.

  5. Lol...it is the most common breakfast meat by far yet some are puzzled why people mention it?

I'm just glad some on here are now forced to admit it is because of being cheap.  I have not found a land based restaurant or competing cruise line that has failed to find a way to budget for bacon....just Carnival.

Okay.. so... this may be a Noob questions but.... WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH BACON? Is there a bacon shortage on Carnival?

I've seen the term 'bacation' on other topics and this is a puzzling topic.

    🥓🥓🥓

Carnival is the only entity left with a bacon shortage 'due to Covid' and all that. Lol.

  7. On the Elation now.  The first trip to the MDR was great last night.  We were out in an hour or so and all the food was the correct temp.

Brunch this morning was a different story.  Seated at 9am before it was really that busy.   The starter bagel arrived at 9:55, omelet at 10:20.

I agree.  For all the people on CC who say they leave tips, I sure don't witness too many people tipping when I'm onboard.  I guess all the tippers come to CC to brag about it. 🙄

I've noticed the same.  On the internet most seem to be to busy handing out $20's to even enjoy the cruise.  Everyone on here for example tips extra with every drink.  In my real life of many many (probably too many) hours sitting at a bar people watching I would say it is less than 10%.
