  1. Yes Joy I’d love the recipe. Craig’s mother had one but I’ve lost it and can’t remember exactly what she did.
  2. Lenda, can you tell me how you do your fried chicken? I used to make it in the oven but it’s been so long that I don’t remember how I breaded it. Fried chicken is one of the ways I only like chicken. It has to have a crust for me to like it. I hear you about the incomplete address scams, I’ve gotten them too. Usually via email but a few texts. Very important to always on the lookout for strange and suspicious emails and texts and never click on any links.
  3. The neighborhood fireworks started about 30 minutes ago. We are just keeping the TV volume up. Blue isn’t too disturbed by the fireworks but does know something is different and growls sometimes. Debbie, Addie is adorable!! And your potato salad looks delicious!
  4. I don’t call this simple Lenda!! It’s very pretty and I wish I could have a slice!
  5. It’s a phone extension on the in-cabin phone. I’ve used it a few times but really prefer face to face interaction. Have a great cruise and enjoy Club Orange!
  6. Unfortunately we can’t change ours remotely. I’m sure we could upgrade it sometime though because it sure would be convenient. This morning I finally figured out how to change it to a permanent override from the schedule. For us it’s just easier to use it that way since we are home all the time.
  7. Good morning and Happy Thursday and Happy 4th of July! Good days to celebrate. We are going to BBQ sliders today but @Quartzsite CruiserLenda is correct, true BBQ is over wood. I think we’ll have baked beans and I might make deviled eggs because so many people are making them today. I will eat a hot dog occasionally but Craig loves them, especially chili dogs, and always has one from the Dive-In and will not share like Allen @Seasick Sailor did with Joy. Sandi @StLouisCruisers, I’m glad you enjoyed your Dive-In dog! Last night was frustrating. Our batteries needed replacing on our A/C control panel which Craig did but an hour later I realized it was just too darn hot and sure enough it was at 82. After fiddling around and getting more and more frustrated Craig got out the manual but still couldn’t figure it out so went to YouTube. He was even trying to call the company but they weren’t answering. Finally, after about an hour of this, and walking up & down the stairs (the panel is upstairs), it looked like it wanted us to set up a schedule so I tried that even though we just manually adjust it. Well, that worked but I’d still prefer to do it manually so I’ll have to research that. Have a great day everyone! 🎆🎆🎆
  8. Yes, there is a dedicated line at Customer Service for Club Orange, however I wouldn’t call it Concierge Service like that in the Neptune Lounge. Various CS reps service the CO line and service can be a little quicker. They might remember you more than if you were in the regular line. The service is not any different than the usual service at CS.
  9. Well, I guess I’ll find out on our cruise November 2025! I sailed on Carnival once and only because I was monitoring the Carnival board for AOL. I don’t really remember the food but I do remember the free Manhattans they gave us. Oh, and I played craps for the one and only time ever. Denise!! These are beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Enjoy your holiday!
  10. Just watched our local news and the storm we had last night also was an F1 tornado. It was about 7 miles from us, whew. Carolyn @Cruising-along, the road trip your DD & family are on reminds me of a week long road trip that Craig and I took back in 1979 BK (before kids). We camped at several campgrounds and stayed in some motels. Went to the 4 corners area and all around, Window Rock, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley. We were exhausted! But it was fun and a really good memory.
  11. Glad to know that I’m not alone! After getting my new iPhone 15 I had to re-sync everything but couldn’t figure out how to add my contacts. The car’s screen kept telling me that I needed to allow access to the car. I tried everything. Settings, contacts, etc. Finally after days of looking I discovered it under the Bluetooth settings. It did make me feel better that the teenager couldn’t figure it out either.
  12. Good morning and Happy Wednesday! We had a huge monsoon storm last night right when we were going to sleep. Lots of thunder and heavy rain. Surprised me because it wasn’t in the forecast. I am getting irritated at CC. I like to read and post on my iPhone. The past few days when I go to the next page it goes down to the bottom of the next page, plus when I click to post a comment it does something similar. Frustrating. I like the days. I have a bag of frozen clams that I need to use but need a good fried clam recipe. I’ve seen a lot of painted rocks, especially at DM’s residence. I try to use less plastic and reuse what I have for picking up the yard after Blue. I would love today’s meal and would make it with beef or a half and half mixture. Yesterday I didn’t make anything special because I was exhausted after running errands and having blood work. I ended up missing the zoom meeting with my Tasting Grace group too. I slept really good last night so I’m much better today. Today I’m attempting oven fried chicken. Hopefully it comes out good. We don’t have plans for tomorrow but I think we’ll have sliders. Jacqui @kazu, I am thinking and praying for you, and hope that your surgery is very soon. I am sorry that you are having so much pain. Well, it’s 10:00 and I need to get the teenager up and fed. Have a great day!
  13. Joy, I am so sorry to hear this. Praying for your sister and her physicians and care team. Take care.
  14. I wanted to let you all know about my recent experience with Stock Perks. I downloaded the app back in January to apply for OBC for our Hawaii cruise, long story but I had already faxed in the information months prior with no response. Anyway using the app was easy and the OBC was applied quickly. Fast forward to this past Saturday— I applied for OBC for my cruise next month using my two booking numbers. It was even easier this time because all the information was stored, but I’m sure it has to be updated every year. The app said it would take 5 days to hear back. That evening I received an email confirmation that the credits had been applied. Talk about fast! I was impressed. So I wanted to share how simple it is and not believe everything you read elsewhere. 😉
  15. Rabbit, Rabbit, White Rabbit 🐇 🐇 🐇 Good morning and Happy Monday and Happy Canada Day!! 🇨🇦 Good collection of days. I believe I’ve had the LaCrema before and it’s not bad for a Chardonnay. Usually not my favorite. I’ll pass on the drink, any time I see schnapps I cringe. Thank you for the recipes Debbie @dfish and also your family recipe. I had never heard of Garlic Expressions so did some research. It’s locally available at some Target and Fry’s but not near me. I see that it’s available online too and Amazon but I’m thinking about going to the closest Fry’s that has it available instead. Yesterday I didn’t stay very long in the pool because I didn’t like the look of the clouds. I’m not sure about today, it’s much cooler and will only be about 95. Blue didn’t feel good yesterday and didn’t eat lunch but after our nap he searched out all the hidden pieces of food that he had tucked away and gobbled down dinner. I think he eats icky stuff outside, silly thing, and gets tummy aches. We let Summer sleep in her fort again, we didn’t have the heart to have her take it down. I got an email from someone in the trivia group from the Volendam cruise last year saying that they and another couple are on the 28 day Westerdam Alaskan cruise. Sounds like they are having fun. The couple were the ones who set up our special Pinnacle Grill dinner. They arranged an off menu meal with the chef. It was very good. Have a great day everyone!
  16. Yes, but I also take a screenshot to document what I did that day. I also do that with the excursion description, menus for the day, etc. That way I can go back and see what I ate and did.
  17. Did the PG ever compensate you for the disgusting lobster?
  18. I would have been 6 days old, Wow! I wonder if my parents watched it but with two small children I doubt it. My father was in Grad school and my mother was working full time at a bank. She has told me that she could only take two weeks off work when she had me— her vacation time for the year.
  19. Good morning and Happy Sunday. The girlfriend decided not to spend the night and had her mother pick her up. Summer decided to still spend the night in the living room where they had built a “fort”. Since the storms are coming later I think I’ll get in the pool early. I like avocados. My father’s sister and her husband had an avocado orchard in Fallbrook, CA. It was large but they ended up selling it and moved to Hawaii in the 80’s because none of their children wanted to continue with the orchard. Sad. I have good memories of walking through the trees. We were living in Brush, CO at this time and whenever they came to visit they brought a suitcase full of avocados and my DM was thrilled because you couldn’t buy them anywhere at that time. This was in the 60’s. I’ll skip the drink but would like to try the wine. I like both lobster rolls and just lobster with butter. Last lobster roll was in October 2022 in Portland, ME on our Nieuw Statendam cruise. Have a great day everyone!
  20. I also learned this the hard way after not being able to access my boarding pass in Barcelona. Now I also screen shot my excursion tickets.
  21. Good evening! It’s not as humid but still feels muggy. The pool temp is down 4 degrees. Craig still got in but I’m making bread right now. Summer has a friend spending the night so thought that they would enjoy grilled cheese sandwiches. Summer will only eat them on my bread. Also she took her drivers training test online today and passed. The whole process has really changed since our kids started driving. I’m not entirely sure but I think you have to be 18 to get your license and have had at least 6 months of a permit. It’s confusing. Annie @marshhawk, I loved the kitten pictures! Dixie @summer slope, congratulations on the cruise booking! Debbie @dfish, I made the ground beef with broccoli yesterday and not only was it quick and easy but also delicious. Thank you for the recipe. Next time I’ll add an extra bell pepper. The girls are getting in the pool and I need to check the bread. Have a good evening!
  22. I should have said in my earlier post that I was only counting the current HAL ships. We started cruising in 1987 but had a long break after that due to having young children and started back up in 1999. Since 1999 I’ve not been on the Ryndam, Amsterdam, Prinsendam, and Zuiderdam. So in August I’ll accomplish having been on all the ships in the current fleet.
  23. Not a stupid goal at all! It’s actually one I’ve been trying to achieve myself. Finally in August I’ll be on the Zuiderdam, my last HAL ship. Congratulations on booking the PC transit cruise. One of my favorites!
