  1. If you are on the bus, they will wait. If not, that is another story. Take care, happytotravel
  2. Thank you all for your suggestions and advice. I'll check in when the bus gets me to the port. The ship will wait. Enjoy life! happytotravel
  3. Thanks, I'll check with NCL to see when they think the transfer will leave the airport. happytotravel
  4. Hi, Just wondering what check in time is best to choose when coming in with their transfer onto the JOY. I haven't had to do this on my previous cruises. Thanks, happytotravel
  5. Hi, How do I delete the notifications I get to follow a discussion. I click on the bell at the top of the page but there doesn't seem to be any delete to check. Thanks, happytotravel
  6. I love them. Hopefully, their "friends" will be sharing my cabin in September. happytotravel
  7. Hi All, What happened to the other 29 cabins that were on the same line? If someone throws stuff into the toilet that they shouldn't the blockage is there and would affect them all. This is not the fault of NCL. It's the fault of the yoyo who did it. I find it hard to believe that a change in cabin was not offered. happytotravel
  8. It becomes a lot of extra work for NCL if people did their check in months in advance and then decide to cancel. I'm sure it was no picnic for them during the pandemic when all those cancellations came through. No matter what folks may say or complain about the cruise lines do try to do their best, I'm sure. happytotravel
  9. Hi to OP, Please consider getting insurance as you NEVER KNOW what can happen when on a cruise. You could get ill and need to go to the medical center or worse yet need to be evacuated from the ship. Something could happen while on shore and you could need medical care at one of their hospitals. With no insurance you will be paying out of your own pocket and that could be extremely pricey. Take care, happytotravel
  10. Hi, I'm on the September 06 Joy cruise. I've booked "Spirit of the Senses" in Sydney and "Views of Halifax" while in Halifax. There is also "Pier 21" museum right at the port which you might enjoy. It was where immigrants coming to Canada came through years back. I've been there several years ago and hope to visit it again if I've time. What ever you decide I'm sure you'll have a great time. I can't wait!!! Take care, happytotravel
  11. Thanks for your reply. It works fine when booking shore excursions. I get my $50.00 US off plus 15%. I will wait until I get on board. I have 60 minutes free already and we'll be on shore 7 days out of 10 so I probably don't really need more then. I really need it only for emails. Take care, happytotravel
  12. Thanks All, I went as far as checking out and the price was still $140.00 and I didn't want to go any further. I would think that the discounted amount should show up like it does when booking shore excursions and you reach the check out area. I don't really want to put in my CC number before knowing the real price. I probably don't need more than my original 60 minutes anyway since we will be ashore 7 days out of 10. Looking forward to my cruise like everyone else these days. happytotravel
  13. Hi All, I posted this over at Norwegian Cruise line but thought I'd also ask here. I presently have 60 minutes free and am Sapphire so would get 20% off of a purchase. I looked at 250 minutes which would be $140.00C. When I went to book the price remained the same. There was no 20% discount. Any thoughts? thanks, happytotravel
  14. Hi All, I was looking at possibly purchasing 250 minutes of internet time. I already have 60 minutes from a promo and would get 20% off from any purchase being Sapphire. I tried booking to see what the final price would be. Original price for this is $140.00 Canadian. When I go to pay the price remains the same without showing 20% off. Any explanation? Thanks, happytotravel
  15. My thoughts exactly! Folks should enjoy the beach and the fun of it. They can watch TV or movies when they get home. This is a cruise!!!!! Take care, happytotravel
  16. Hi All, My cruise is in September from Montreal to NY with Air Canada. I'm planning to travel with only a carry-on this time. It's enough hoping the flight is on time, as the the cruise is the same day, without worrying if the luggage shows up. Yes, I know I should have booked the day before, like other years, but unfortunately I didn't. I'll just keep my fingers crossed. happytotravel
  17. Hi, How did you get this letter? Was it in your cabin? Thanks, happytotravel
  18. Thanks everyone. I'll bring a book from home but always like to see what's available on the ship. On one cruise I was introduced to Erin Hunter's "Warrior Cat" series and now have all but the latest book. It's a great series even if you are now "young at heart". Enjoy whatever cruise you are planning! happytotravel
  19. Sorry, I started to write but accidentally hit the reply button. I started to say mine is a 12:30 also but a month earlier! It was a pleasant surprise to see that this was really a free trip when I booked. Hope your cruise will be wonderful! happytotravel
  20. I'm sure the Observation Lounge would be a nice quiet place to read if you brought your own books. When I was Iooking at the deck plans I couldn't find a "library" as on other NCL ships. My download copy of the ship's guide shows it should be on deck 6. Take care, happytotravel
  21. Hi, I'm on the Joy in September and am Sapphire. My excursion in St. John NB on the Trolley is free since I get $50.00 off plus my 15% as well. So, there is at least one excursion that really is free. Take care, happytotravel
  22. Hi, Does the Joy have a library? Thanks, happytotravel
  23. Glad you were able to get a flight. My flight isn't until Sept 06 into NY and I'm checking every day now to see how things are going. There's always a chance the cancellation email doesn't go out. I normally go a day early, BUT of course, this time I booked same day. Hope I'm not sorry. happytotravel
