Be really careful about bidding if you have booked a suite guaranty. You more than likely will be assigned a JS, but not always. We booked a suite guaranty on Anthem and then got the Royal Up email as the cruise got closer. We put bids on a GS, OS and Sky Loft. A couple of weeks before the cruise, we still hadn't gotten a Royal Up confirmation, but I looked at our booking and we had been assigned a 2 bedroom GS! I was luckily able to access my Royal Up bids and cancelled them all but we could have won Royal Up on a cabin that is considered lower than what we had been assigned. I will not bid in the future if I have booked a suite guaranty.

It really isn't worth trying to bump up. Here is a link that will detail some of the benefits. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/pdf/crown-and-anchor-society-benefit-grid.pdf -
If we test positive on the ship...

You just have to ignore the constant statements that the numbers are low or if you get sick, it is just like a cold. I tested positive on Quantum more than 7 weeks ago and I am still not back to normal. I quarantined on the ship and then continued in a hotel in Seattle before finally flying home to the east coast. My DH tested negative on the ship by home test in our cabin and by antigen test in medical but ended up positive 7 days after getting home. He did not stay with me in Seattle and flew home on our scheduled flight. My quarantine wasn't a nightmare but I didn't like being stuck by myself, so far from home, at least I only had a domestic flight home. Many on my rollcall also tested positive but did not report to medical. Many flew home with symptoms. If people continue to not follow the guidelines, the spread will continue. -
Coastal Kitchen is a suite restaurant. You will need reservations for dinner but not breakfast and lunch. You should receive a welcome email from the concierge the week before you sailing. You can ask the concierge to make your reservations for you for the week so you don't need to bother once you board.

Yes, renting a car and driving home is one of the options. They currently will reimburse $100/day for the car, I think, I will look for my letter. Currently, CDC says you need to isolate for 5 day and then if you are symptom free, wear a mask for 5 days. Royal Caribbean will reimburse you $250/day for hotel and $100/day for food if you have to isolate after you disembark the ship. They will arrange transportation from the ship to the hotel you have to book on your own. If this happens, make sure you call the hotel directly to confirm they have started room service again. I had to isolate in Seattle and not all hotels are doing room service yet. They will also issue a refund for the period of your quarantine on the ship. All of this is the current process. Not sure what will happen for a September sailing. -
Update: I received a call today about the receipts that I submitted. The rep handling my claim noticed the different credit cards that were used and wanted to verify how I wanted my reimbursement processed as they typically charge to the credit card on file. I verified that would be perfect and she told me I will receive reimbursement for all receipts submitted within 5 to 7 days. She said to expect multiple credits as each will be handled separately.

Smoke unsafe in Fairbanks Alaska

Did the cruisetour get canceled or did you just do the cruise part and not continue on the land portion? I am surprised there isn't a number in the cruise documents to call in the event of a cancellation. I know with the cruise insurance, for them to pay, you have to cancel before the ship sails, you can't just no show and then make a claim. I hope that is not the case with the cruisetour. Keep us posted. Good luck. -
When my Dad died in Florida in 2000, we had a memorial service down there. After the service, a man approached my Mom and introduced himself. He said that almost 50 years prior, my Dad had saved him from drowning in the pond that is in my parents home town up in Massachusetts. He had seen my Dad's obituary in the local paper in Florida and had to come and pay his respects as he wouldn't be there if it hadn't been for my Dad. It is a small world.... 🙂

They are in racks that are self service at guest relations so crowd will not effect your ability to take one out of the rack.

My Dad taught my son to float on his back before he was 3 years old. He had him float like a marshmallow and look at the clouds float by. The two of them could float forever in the condo pool. He also taught him to swim too though and he went on to be a lifeguard at the local YMCA all through high school and worked as a lifeguard at a boy scout camp during the summer. Now as an adult when he goes out with his buddies wake boarding, he is still the designated lifeguard.

We really like the newer ships and the newer design of the cabins. Voyager has been amped but they do not do updates to the cabins, other than carpet, during the amp. I am also not sure we would like the design of the balconies, we like the full glass front balconies on the second generation Voyager class ships. We like the different food options on the larger ships too and Voyager doesn't have a lot of the newer options, like Playmakers. We were thrilled when we read a different class of ship was coming to Boston as we have sailed all the Radiance class multiple times and were hoping for something newer. We live just outside of Boston so were excited for something different that we could get to easily. We will likely drive to Cape Liberty instead and sail Oasis before it leaves for the winter or jump on Anthem again when it comes back to the states. We are also looking at trying Celebrity too for a change of pace.

We have sailed that week a few times since the prices are usually really low, so have missed the free buses every time. We have booked Ollies Trolley ourselves since it is usually about half the cost of the excursion through the ship. Haven't decided on this year yet though, not sure how I feel about Voyager.
