  1. Good morning all! At this moment in time, my office floor is covered with scattered photo albums. (the rest of the house is tidy though) 😁 When my DD passed 4 years ago my sister and I divided up all his photo albums and it took me until now to get into them. Making decisions on what to keep and what to toss has taken some time and will continue. We try to go to local small businesses when possible, and I always trust my intuition. I'm a terrible writer, the quote is a good one. I'll pass on the drink, meal and wine. Not a fan of sweet potatoes, and never with bread. Never have been to the port, I'm loving the photos today! I had a nice dinner with our daughter last night, but am worried because she's stressing big time over work right now. Hoping she isn't getting an ulcer. No matter how old our children get we never stop worrying! Here's a photo of the grandsons at their Taekwondo class before dinner. Always fun to watch! @kazuI think the advice your friend gave you about keeping the bar low each day was very good advice. Keeping you in my prayers. Younger grandson is to the right of the instructor (far left in mirror) and older grandson on far right. They just "leveled up" to green belt a couple weeks ago.
  2. Although we canceled our July 3 Volendam cruise for other reasons, as time goes by I'm even more glad we made that decision. When HAL wasn't posting shore excursions (and from what I see they still haven't?) I was concerned. Maybe there's another reason, but that alone is very unusual at only 2 months out. I'm very happy for the Ukrainian refugees, just glad we canceled the cruise long ago.
  3. Good morning all! It was good to hear from Jacqui @kazuand heartwarming to see the outpouring of love she has been getting. The quilt, bag and flowers are all gorgeous and so well deserved. I find that usually a lost sock is found tangled up in the sheets or some other clothing -- love the Tupperware lid joke! Pretty sure our mattress still has the tags, and my check-ups are all up to date thank goodness. Will pass on the drink and wine, have never been to the port, the meal looks good. Tonight DD will be making dinner for me, she plans on making Beet and Goat Cheese Ravioli. Sounds good! I'll be going down to pick up the grandsons after school while she's at a meeting, then we'll all go to their Taekwondo class before dinner. Before I go I may try to plant those annuals I got a few days ago. I hope everyone has a nice day!
  4. I had a wonderful Mothers Day, the house was full of laughter. They brought me flowers, chocolates, chocolate covered strawberries and trout! The boys caught 3 Rainbow trout yesterday and brought me the biggest one. DSIL fileted it and I made trout almondine (my favorite), enough for anyone to have a bite who wanted. It was delicious! I hope everyone had a great weekend!
  5. Lenda @Quartzsite Cruiserthank you for the memories of Lisbon! I especially liked reliving scenes of Sintra, Cascais, Batalha and Fatima.
  6. It's confusing. I got the notice that max had been reached too after one purchase for $2,000. But I just tried doing another one for $2,000 after that one had gone through, and it worked. You have to do each $2,000 purchase at a time (up to max of $10,000 per day). I did 5 one day and another 1 the next day.
  7. It rained ALL day here in Lake Stevens. We love the 59er Diner! Happy belated anniversary.
  8. Good morning all and Happy Mothers Day to the Moms in the group! My kids will all be coming over later today, I'm looking forward to that. The Grandsons caught some Rainbow Trout yesterday on a scout outing, and a little bird told me that they want to cook it for me (they know it's my favorite fish). Should be interesting! 😅 Great set of days today. I'll pass on the meal and drink, but the wine sounds good. We've been to Lisbon a few times, I know I posted photos last time so won't again, other than one (that I didn't take) but a friend sent to me. Not sure I agree with the quote. Loving all the photos of the Moms! My Mother passed on February 18, 2010 at the age of 93. Considering all her health problems it was a wonder we had her that long. She was a wonderful Mother and I miss her dearly. Here's the photo a friend sent me. For all the cat lovers among us, this was in Lisbon. My Mom at around the age of 19. And Christmas 1997. I'm standing next to Mom in the back middle.
  9. That's a really good attitude, Debbie (and just shows the nice person you are). I still would be ticked off that the owner was so unprofessional that she yelled, lectured, whatever, at you. But I get it. Not going back and moving on is the best reaction.
  10. Debbie, I have wondered too about Tall Herman and Fat Margaret --- LOL Just wow about the owner of the facility!! And to think you had to pay money for the privilege of being miserable. I do hope there's somewhere you can lodge a complaint or at least a negative review. That's ridiculous. 😞 So glad the day turned out so well and kudos to Rome Cabs for helping make it happen. We have also used them and agree that they're a wonderful company. Yes!
  11. Welcome to a very rainy PNW! Our weather has been dreadful, I'm sorry 😞 In fact I think I just heard some thunder.... Also sorry about the lack of masks at SeaTac. Not long ago, you wouldn't have seen anyone UNmasked. I'm not happy about the change. Have a wonderful cruise and Bon Voyage!
  12. I'm so sorry! I know on the NS the Captain has made masks mandatory now (although according to someone onboard now, there are still some who aren't wearing them). I wish all the ships would do as the NS is.
  13. Good morning all! Good collection of days today. What a sad, jaded quote, but coming from M.M. is not surprising. I'll pass on the meal and wine (sweet) and drink. Since DH is working at the Mariner game today, I'll probably defrost some of the Italian Vegetable soup for myself. We've been to Tallinn once, in 2014 on the Eurodam. I loved that town! So walkable and interesting. We did a Rick Steves self walking tour and thoroughly enjoyed the day. I would love to get back there again. I grew up with Little Lulu comics (does anyone else remember those?) And then Archie and Veronica comics. Speaking of enjoyable, as usual I came home with more plants than I'd planned on purchasing yesterday. 😉 Between rain showers I got the tomatoes, peppers and some of the annuals into pots, the rest will have to wait for another dry spell. @superomayour Hellebores are gorgeous. I have the same color and love them (ours are all done now though). Here are some of my photos from our day in Tallinn. Four ships in port that day One of our first sights Fat Margaret Tower Alexander Nevsky Cathedral Headquarters for the Brotherhood of Blackheads, a group of unmarried men formed to protect the city in the mid-14th century. I noticed Sandi @StLouisCruisers liked this building too. The city wall Clock on Church of the Holy Ghost Tall Herman Tower Toompea Castle (Pink Castle) Town Hall Square We walked to the top of a hill for this great viewpoint.
  14. Good morning all! My beverages of choice are coffee, flavored water, and white wine. DH and I are part of DD's team of child care providers and have been since our grandsons were born 7 and 9 years ago. She was lucky to also have her MIL and occasional nanny. I so admire nurses for the work they do. Two of DH's sisters were nurses, as was our neighbor and good friend. Amusing quote, will pass on the meal, drink, and wine. Have never been to China, and have no plans to go. Today I'd like to go to my favorite nursery to pick up some annuals, including more Sweet Pea starts or seeds. Half of my Sweet Peas got frost bitten when we had a heavy frost/snow later than I thought we should! Prayers for all, especially Jacqui @kazu, Ann @cat shepardand Jack @Heartgrove
