  1. Good evening. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Amnesty International is important. I've never made a brisket and don't think I've ever eaten it. I'll salute national hamburger day, although not having one today. Good quote. I'll pass on the tofu tacos, drink and wine. I've been to Norfolk many years ago, pre-digital, to visit a high school friend. A good day in history. It's been cloudy and cool today. I'm tired. I left home around noon, and went to the pharmacy and post office. Then I went to pick up a prescription for BFF. We chatted for a while, then I did some things around his house like changing his bed linens, taking out the trash, etc. Later I made dinner for us both, then some cleaning in his kitchen. Finally home and I need some ibuprofen and a glass of wine. @grapau27 I'm sorry you and Pauline haven't been feeling well. Prayers you are back to normal health soon. @StLouisCruisers I'm sorry to hear about the lousy weather. Unfortunately it's one thing we can't control when we cruise. @Mr. Boston I hope your flight to Montreal went smoothly. @Haljo1935 I hope the eye procedure went well. Crazy weather indeed. @kazu I'm sorry your foot and legs aren't happy. Good about the catscan, although not how long you have to wait. I have Jose's gadget in green. @aliaschief Thanks for sharing your photos from Corfu. @smitty34877 I know it's good having DB there. Even way back when I went to my HS prom, we stayed up all night and watched the sun come up over the ocean at the beach 😗. I hope Tana is feeling ok. @RMLincoln Good job on keeping it up with DH's eye routine. I was sorry too to see Rafa out in the first round of the French Open. I wonder if he's thinking of retiring? @ger_77 I hope the Chiro's ministrations were of help to DH. @Cruzin Terri I'm glad your bloodwork was good. And steroid tapers take time and patience. I hope the injection and PT help the shoulder. I'm glad you had a good meeting with your PCP. So nice for you to socialize with friends. @Cruising-along Great news about Amber! Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those Celebrating.

  3. It has brightened up here, but still is quite windy. My power winked off briefly, not sure why. Just enough to need to reset a few clocks on appliances. The slow cooker is now full with chicken taco chili, for me to take some to BFF tomorrow. @Seasick Sailor @Haljo1935 Thanks for the explanations of dry needling. Elizabeth, I'm glad it's been helpful for your shoulder. @sailingdutchy As a cactus fan, those are great photos. @Sharon in AZ Enjoy lunch with your DM. Enjoy the ribs; I like them but don't know how to make good ones, so I get them when I'm eating out. @Vict0riann Prayers for good news on your biopsy results. @XBGuy I looked up that wine on the website for our state controlled wine and spirits stores (boo). They only have a Mother Clone Zinfandel and a Cabernet Sauvignon, each about $20.
  4. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. Today we remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. Sunscreen protection is important, especially to protect from skin damage and some skin cancers. Old time player pianos are disappearing. I haven't eaten a grape popsicle in a long time. Great quote. Pass on the meal (fish), yes to the drink and can't afford the wine. I've been to Glacier Alley. An important day in history. It was rainy earlier, but is supposed to clear up. I have no plans for today. I may try to make a slow cooker favorite, so I can take some to BFF tomorrow. I also need to work on the thermostat for the upstairs AC (the one just fixed). It was flashing low battery and when I changed the batteries it still said low battery. I'll try newer ones. If I end up having to replace it, I want something I can remotely control, so I don't have to climb up to the third floor all the time. My hand joints aren't happy being off the RA med, nor my eyes. I get to resume it a week from Wednesday. @StLouisCruisers I'm glad the rain held off for you. Very nice photos from Glacier Alley. @aliaschief Thanks for the Carthage photos. @rafinmd Prayers for your church member Paul's recovery. @kazu I think I have the same gadget as Jose's gadget. Sorry the weather isn't cooperating for your gardening. @ottahand7 Great photos. @RMLincoln I'm glad you got better sleep last night, and enjoyed the theater earlier. @dfish Great photos of River yesterday in the gardens. @Quartzsite Cruiser Excellent photos. @marshhawk Be safe in that weather! @Haljo1935 What is dry needling? Prayers for the Care List and Cheers to those Celebrating. Just a few photos from my 2018 Zaandam SA/Antarctica trip, since my others are similar to those posted already. 6. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I never made paper airplanes and don't know how to do the Lindy Hop. Cellophane tape was an important development, although now somewhat obsolete. Funny Bombeck quote. Pass on the meal (pesto and quinoa). Pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to Douglas, Isle of Man. It's going to be a nice day today, although storms again tonight. I don't know if I wore myself out helping BFF yesterday, or it was the wine with dinner, but I fell asleep watching the hockey game last night, from about 9-11:30 in my recliner. Then I went upstairs to bed and slept another 6 hours. They say you can't "catch up" on sleep, but I wonder, after those months of little sleep. So today I will relax, and tend to my indoor plants. I'm excited that my orchid has a new flower spike with buds. @grapau27 Thanks for the link and explanation of the Lindy Hop. @StLouisCruisers I hope the weather cooperates for you. @MISTER 67 That was indeed sad news about Grayson Murray. @ottahand7 I lost some hostas over the winter, saw some bareroot ones on sale, but passed as I'm not yet up to gardening. Perhaps in the fall. @Cruzin Terri Happy Heavenly Birthday to your DM. Safe travels tomorrow. @aliaschief The BBQ looks delicious. Enjoy Tunisia. @kazu I'm glad you're trying not to overdo. @RMLincoln Sorry you had trouble sleeping last night. Enjoy the community theater. Exciting to be able to decrease the drops; I hope it goes well. @Nickelpenny Ewww on cockroaches. @ger_77 Sorry DH is having back discomfort and I hope the chiro can help. I was prone for my back surgery, and had bruises on my thighs and chest, plus some discomfort. That was a first. Your meal at the Chinese restaurant sounds great. @cunnorl That really is low, stealing flags from a cemetery. I've heard of them stealing the metal medallions from graves too. @Seasick Sailor I heard on the news about that tornado near Dallas and the deaths; so sad. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.

  8. Good evening. I'm tired after a busy day. The AC technician came around 11:30 and impressed me with his work ethic. He was all over the house, including in the attic several times at this hot time. It seemed my coolant was low and the coils froze; then they defrosted into the catch pan after I turned the system off. He checked everything and I'm back in business, with my wallet a little lighter. Then I went to BFF's. I did some household chores there, changed his Mohs surgery bandage, and heated up his dinner. There were severe thunderstorm warnings, flood warnings, and even a tornado warning while I was there. I had to pick a judicious time to leave for home. I gather there's some storm damage and power outages around. @quilty964 I'm glad you made it safely. I detest driving in heavy thunderstorms. @Nickelpenny I can't see my incision either. BFF has been taking pictures of it for me, every few days. I saw one bill for $50k on my surgery date, that my insurance did not pay; I think it wasn't sent with the right codes. They did pay for the neuro monitoring during the surgery and some other bill that I can't tell what it's for. @bennybear Great photo of the woodpecker. @luvteaching Enjoy the show. @cunnorl The first shingles shot gave me a big painful lump at the injection site, and some fatigue. Nothing with the 2nd shot. @dfish I want to come to dinner! Your menu sounds good. @cruising sister Aww, thanks for sharing that photo of precious Murphy. It's hard to believe she's almost one! And DGD is such a big girl, getting dolls and her nails done. @Cruising-along I bet the grandsons think you two are the coolest Grandparents! Great photos. @XBGuy I'm drinking Girard Meritage with dinner tonight. @grapau27 It's sad that you had to give up something you love, due to your arthritis. @Copper10-8 Great memes. Time to relax in the recliner!
  9. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. I hope we are all trying to cut down on plastic use. I used to often brown bag it when I worked. Missing Children is such a sad situation. Interesting quote. I like the meal, sans olives. Pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to Maputo. I remember JFK's goal of getting a man to the moon. It's warm and sunny, with potential storms later. Yesterday the HVAC people called around 3PM, saying they were slammed, but could they come out today (which is not usually done unless an emergency). I said yes, so here I sit waiting for them. I did sleep upstairs with the ceiling fan upped from low to medium velocity. It wasn't too bad. I hope to get to BFF's early afternoon and then back home before the storms. @MrSnuffleupagus Bon Voyage! @ger_77 Happy (Alternate) Birthday! @MISTER 67 Congrats on the good golf scores. @kazu I hope you can work on the planters without too much pain. @StLouisCruisers Thanks for checking in. Sorry the weather isn't nicer there today. @smitty34877 So nice for you to have DB and DSIL there. @dfish Aww, on the note from River; so sweet. And Addi looks so sweet; congrats to the parents and family. @RMLincoln Enjoy the visit from the grandkids. You're doing great on DH's complicated eye regimen. That's a sweet note. @Heartgrove Great photo! @doobieb Enjoy the uke festival. Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those Celebrating.

  11. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn and to all contributors. No brother here. I'll wear my tiara later. Morse code was an important means of communication. Funny quote, although in academia hiding sources is a no no. I'll take black forest cake over German chocolate cake, since I don't like coconut in food (it's a texture thing). Pass on the drink and wine ($$$). I haven't been to Kagoshima. A salute to Samuel Morse. It's 75F and sunny. Storms tomorrow and Monday supposedly. My day isn't going as planned. Last night when I went upstairs, I heard the AC running, but no air was coming out of the vents. I think it's the capacitor. And of course it's a holiday weekend. I have a ceiling fan in the bedroom, so it wasn't too warm. I had trouble falling asleep, but managed 5 hours. I called an HVAC company I've used before, and of course they're busy, but are supposed to call with a time to come out. Downstairs has AC, since due to the size of the house, I have one system for the 1st floor, and a 2nd one for the 2nd and 3rd floors. I could sleep down here if it were too hot upstairs. I had planned to go to BFF's to do some things for him and just visit, but I'm stuck here in case they can come today. @Heartgrove Happy Birthday Jack! @summer slope How is your friend Mike doing? @StLouisCruisers I'm glad you had a good, if tiring, day in Normandy. I hope the person down the hall with the medical call is ok. That's terrible about the transportation mixup so that you couldn't go to Blankenberge. That shouldn't happen. @cat shepard You are too kind. Scary about Bindi's bloodwork. I hope it all turns out ok. @smitty34877 Thanks for sharing a photo of your DB. I'm glad he and DSIL are coming again to give you a break and to spread laughter. Hugs to Tana. @1ANGELCAT I hope Shirl will decide to stay. Bless her DS for his care. @marshhawk Enjoy your day off. And congrats on having a job until next March. @aliaschief Nice photos. And the weather looks great. @Nickelpenny Wow, that is a lot of attention from you healthcare providers. I had a call from the surgery center the day after, but otherwise I had provided myself with any mobility and bathroom aids. Good luck with your projects. @ger_77 I'm glad your friends were safe, but sad about all the destruction and flooding. I hope DH is doing well. @Overhead Fred Beautiful tulips. @rafinmd I hope you feel better soon. I need to get a booster. @RMLincoln Good that you the zoom call later for a boost. And I'm also glad the your DH is continuing to do well. @luvteaching I'm tired just reading about your day yesterday. Prayers for continued health for your DM. @Crazy For Cats All these healthcare cyber events is scary. I used to dictate notes from someone who had horrible cursive writing, and people always wondered how I could. @bennybear Thanks for sharing your photos. @kazu Thinking of you and I hope you get some answers soon. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.

  13. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Per ger_77's definition: Since BFF's best friend is me, am I my own best friend in law? Turtles are important and need to be protected. I'm not a taffy fan, even though growing up at the shore, there was always saltwater taffy at the boardwalk. Good quote. The meal sounds good. Pass on the drink and the wine. I haven't been to Baie-Comeau. A good day in history. It's another warm and sunny day here, with some possible thunderstorms this afternoon. I guess I was exhausted after yesterday's exertions in caretaking. I ate dinner and had a Mike's hard lemonade with it. Then I got in the recliner to watch some shows on my DVR. The next thing I know I awaken and it's 11:30, so I go upstairs to bed. According to my Fitbit, I slept a total of 9h25m! I feel good after that. And talking to BFF, he fell asleep in his recliner after I left, until about 11:30 and then went to bed and slept another 5 hours. I'm going to just relax today if I can. So, the 2026 NFL draft will be here! The city is very excited. @smitty34877 Happy Birthday to Tana! So nice that the teenager's girlfriend will be giving Tana a preview of her prom dress. Prayers that medical research will come up with new treatments to help Tana. I hope your power stays on. @MrSnuffleupagus Safe travels today. @doobieb All these tornadoes are quite frightening! I'm glad you were safe. @cat shepard I hope Bindi passes her physical with flying colors. @dfish So sad about the family dynamics. River is lucky to have you and Sue to give her some stability. Thanks for the recipes. @superoma Your flowers are beautiful. @aliaschief Thanks for sharing your visit to Las Palmas. @RMLincoln Continued prayers for the success of DH's eye treatments. And so nice to hear that your girlfriend from NM will be closer now. @ger_77 I am so glad to hear that Maurice's surgery went well. I hope all the tests go well today. Antibiotic prophylaxis for any dental procedure is pretty common after valve replacement. Nice of your DSIL to provide dinner tonight. I know that adrenaline crash! @rafinmd I'm sorry to hear they want some more invasive tests to check out your heart; prayers they all go well. @Haljo1935 Interesting that you need antibiotics because of the ankle hardware. I wonder if BFF will too? I'll have to ask at his 3 week check up. Lots on your plate with the shoulder and the knee issues. @Overhead Fred Lovely photo. @Copper10-8 Great memes! @durangoscots Wow on your friend needing to get rid of 1500 books! @luvteaching Have a great visit with your DM. @Nickelpenny Thanks for the interpretation of today's quote. I'm impressed by your DYI. I used to do a lot, now at this age it's renovation by checkbook, LOL. The problem is finding competent and honest contractors any more. @bennybear Great turtle photos. @Sharon in AZ I love Call The Midwife! Being late to it, I had to binge about 10 seasons to catch up last year. @kazu I hope you're getting the tests to finally figure out what can help your foot. Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those Celebrating.

  15. Good evening. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. 3 good days to recognize. Meh on the quote. I like the meal, maybe on the drink and yes to the wine. I've been to San Diego on a land trip many years ago. I used to watch Carson all the time. It's warm and sunny, although storms were supposed to start this afternoon. Yesterday when I got home after the long day, I started feeling odd. My arms felt heavy and then I started seeing spots in front of my eyes and felt faint. I even put my head down toward my knees, which helped. I hadn't eaten much of anything all day other than coffee. So I added Liquid IV to a bottle of water, thinking the electrolytes would help. Then I ate something. I felt better the rest of the evening. I went to bed and was out quickly, then awakened around 2am with a dreaded thigh muscle cramp, which I massaged, and finally fell back asleep until 7:30. Then on awakening, I felt my left eye was having a uveitis flare, as it was red and sensitive to light. This AM I took some groceries to DH's house, before heading to the hospital. He was discharged early afternoon. He's never had any major surgery before, and the pain he's feeling is a surprise to him. I did a few things around his house, and now am home. I will rest tomorrow, and go visit him on Friday. So sad to hear of the tornado damage and loss of life. @ger_77 Prayers for Maurice that his procedure was successful. @kazu I hope the surgeon can come up with a diagnosis and treatment plan. OMG about Ivan being attacked by another dog! I hope Ivan is ok, physically and psychologically. @rafinmd I hope your Cardiology consult went ok. @ottahand7 Oh my on your poor DB being on antibiotics since his knee replacement. Once "hardware" gets infected, it usually needs to be removed to get rid of the infection. @StLouisCruisers Lovely photos from San Diego. Enjoy your tour of Omaha Beaches; I found it very moving. @GTVCRUISER Great photos. @Quartzsite Cruiser Excellent photos. @Nickelpenny Yes, plates and screws for the tib/fib. The surgeon is a trauma surgeon, so I have high hopes for a good recovery and have told BFF he must obey the rules. @Vict0riann That animal park looks like a great place. @cruising sister The grandkids are adorable. @bennybear Gorgeous San Diego photos. @Cruising-along Great photo of you two with the boys! Have a great time. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.

  17. Good evening. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I won't comment on the end of the world. Patches can be important. I hope tea workers are treated fairly. 'll drink iced tea, but not much hot tea. Not sure about the quote. I'll pass on the meal (fish), drink and wine. I haven't been to Rabaul; thanks to those who shared photos. I'll salute Earhart for her accomplishment. It's quite hot here today. I'm beat. I'm just getting home. BFF did well with the surgery, but anesthesia was tricky with a cardiac issue he has, and they decided to watch him overnight. So I was there all day keeping him company, and doing much more walking than I'm used to (due to construction, there are many detours through this large hospital). And it's packed. People in the ER are waiting for rooms, and they can't find him one. So he'll spend the night in the PACU, but at least they moved him to a room with a door and not right in front of the nurses' station like he was. I subsisted mainly on coffee, so it's something to eat and an early bedtime for me I think. Thanks for all the good wishes for BFF. @StLouisCruisers I'm sorry you have a cold, and upset tummy. I'm glad you feel better today. Great photos. @smitty34877 Good to hear your street is getting paved finally. And how nice that the teenager is taking his girlfriend to her prom. My DM made all my prom dresses. @Quartzsite Cruiser I hope your swelling and pain are both soon gone. Very interesting photos from Rabaul.Yikes on that hail. @ger_77 I hope it's a go for DH's surgery tomorrow. @RMLincoln It sounds like overall good news about DH's eye, and I hope the pressure lowers more as the drain continues to work. @Sharon in AZ Sorry for the poor meal and service at that restaurant; at today's prices that's intolerable. @kazu I'm sorry you didn't get a definitive answer today; hopefully soon. @Haljo1935 Ugh on the doctor not being in and needing a new tire, but yay for getting the arborist to come by soon. @Copper10-8 Cool memes @tupper10 I'm happy the doctor's visit went well, but sorry to hear about the AC. Prayers for those on the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.
  18. Good morning. Just checking in. I was awake at 2:30 am and out the door about 3:50. No traffic, as you might imagine, as I headed to get BFF and we arrived at the hospital right around 5 am. He’s now in a holding area, where they aren’t letting me back there. So now it’s just waiting.
  19. 20. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. Happy Victoria Day to all Canadians. I like the character Eliza Doolittle; I'm a big My Fair Lady fan. HR can be an important department, if run well. Interesting quote. I'll pass on the meal, drink and wine. I haven't been to Miyako. An important day in history. It's partly sunny right now, and already 76F. It's going to be hot. I'm starting to gather some things to take with me tomorrow, in preparation for staying at BFF's house. It's confirmed we have to be at the hospital at 5AM! My stomach was upset yesterday and I don't know why. So I'm eating gingerly today, as I don't need that today or tomorrow. It's 4 weeks today since my back surgery! I can't see the incision, so BFF has been taking photos of it for me. @superoma I hope your cough goes away soon. @MISTER 67 I can commiserate with you on the knee pain. Good luck with your golf game today. @StLouisCruisers I hope you can fight off the possible cold. Those cakes look delicious, especially the chocolate ones. @0106 Thanks for the explanation. I've never seen South Park. @smitty34877 I'm glad you got a bit of a break this weekend. I hope your week goes smoothly. @kazu Don't try to do too much in the garden. Thanks for the wishes, although it's BFF that's having surgery tomorrow. @Heartgrove I'm sorry to hear that Sam fell down the steps last night. @ottahand7 I'm glad you had a safe and pleasant trip to the cabin. @aliaschief I hope your lower back is feeling better soon. @marshhawk Oh no on mama cat in heat again. @kochleffel Sorry to hear about your back pain today and I hope the Ibuprofen works for it. @durangoscots I'm glad you're home safely, and I'm sure the dogs were happy to see you. @Quartzsite Cruiser Good luck at the dentist today. @ger_77 I've not heard of someone deciding they want to get off the plane at the last minute, then inconveniencing all the other passengers by a delay. I hope Maurice is feeling better. Nice of Wayne to offer to bring dinner over. @sunviking90 Welcome back to the Daily and thanks for sharing your photos! @Copper10-8 Great photos and video of Eliza Doolittle. Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those Celebrating.
