Our stay at the JW Marriott Marquis has been very good, as always. We just finished breakfast, and plan to leave the hotel around 10:30.
Question. When we get to the YC tent, are there porters taking bags or butlers? If they’re butlers, would this be a time to tip? We always tip the porters. Would this be a time to tip the butler? Thanks.
The butlers at the tent are "shoreside only" butlers. They will just walk you through security and up to the lounge where you will have your credentials processed. If a porter takes your bags to the YC tent, definitely tip him. I have never tipped the shoreside butler.
Have a great cruise!

From all I read the cabin has liquid soap and shampoo dispensers but we like a bar of soap. Will our cabin steward bring us a bar if requested?
Yes, you will get a bar of soap for use at the sink. I'm sure if you asked for extra (for use in the shower) they would give you more. I'm a bar of soap person myself!

Page 29 of the online "destinations" brochure will show you where all the ships will be located for the currently published sailings.

They just brought a tour group into the Topsail Lounge. They all had the MSC excursion stickers on and were led by a guide. Which is pissing me off a little right now because the concierge just told me this morning that we couldn't do the cabins on the cabin crawl here in the Yacht Club because it would be disruptive. I will be telling them that.
The ship staff can control the "tours" that are given. They are actually very unobtrusive and the # of people is limited.
If a cabin crawl group was allowed in, how would they be able to control where those people went and if they left in the same group they arrived in. It would be a logistics nightmare for the YC staff. I fully understand their not allowing cabin crawls to include YC cabins.

That's too bad. We kind of felt that way after our NCL Haven trip. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they have some kinks worked out in the next 34 days. 🙂
You will love the YC on the Seaside! I sailed in April and again in October in YC and both cruises were excellent! The staff and the service were both outstanding. Enjoy your cruise!
(I would guess Seaview is going through some "growing pains" and will improve over time.)

To be honest we do still feel let down. We opted for the bigger room and balcony with aurea instead of a small room and better experience with YC. We ended up with neither.
Would I swap this for YC next time? Depends on how much extra I would have to pay for the upgrade on drinks which has been a great bonus, compared to the better service in YC. I don’t think we have missed out on too much.
In the YC you would have had a Nespresso machine in your cabin w/all the pods for coffee you could ever want. Also, all drinks are included w/YC - everywhere on the ship, and yes, it is the Premium pkg.

Should be either PALL (Premium BP) or CALL (Classic BP) next to package type.

I just counted over 100 available......from inside, oceanview, veranda, infinite veranda, concierge and aqua. All the cabins were bookable. Pricing is off the charts. I predict it will only get worse based on the early reviews. Only time will tell.

We are a married couple in the same cabin with one account on board. This has never happened before, and we had no idea that this would be a problem. How can they decide how to distribute the credit?
Vicki
I totally agree!! I'm just wondering when they started doing this? Shame on Celebrity - at least they could tell people that this is now their way of handling OBC. Ridiculous!
-
When you noticed that the OBC was split between the two of you, that was the time to go to Guest Relations and have them assign it to just one Sea Pass card. I'm glad you were able to have it rectified.
In the past, we had to do the reverse. Go to Guest Relations to have them split the OBC between the two occupants of the cabin since they always assigned the entire amount to the person who made the booking.
I was not aware that Celebrity now automatically "splits" OBC between occupants of a cabin! If that is the case, they should definitely let people know that this is now their "policy".

Much has changed in Miami over the last year. There are no longer any customs forms to fill out. Just show your passport and go. I have been through customs in Miami twice this year and both time there were absolutely no lines. Just breezed right through.

Last week I asked our TA in the UK to check out an upgrade to the YC from our Aurea balcony for Xmas on Divina as the price had dropped by around £400, the answer was yes but you will have to pay the cost of the YC cabin on the day you booked your original cabin which was £400 more! this is after final payment by the way so the only way to get the lower price would be to cancel and lose the whole payment for the Aurea and rebook the YC cabin ! Never going to happen.
sidari - I was referring to having my price adjusted downward without a cabin or experience change - plus, this was before final payment. After final payment, all bets are off! So, I don't think we are comparing apples to apples.

Rollie - You will be fine! And, make sure to stroll around the area that takes you around the outside of Old San Juan - toward the Red Door. The Christmas decorations are wonderful! Enjoy!
-
Absolutely no need to include a photo! They are going to take your picture when you check in whether you included one or not.

Ok, I am a little confused that people are saying if you booked a beverage package but are under 21 you can’t use it. My 20 year old daughter and I are booked in one cabin, my 18 year old son booked with my husband in a connecting cabin. We got classic packages for all as a perk. Are you saying my adult kids won’t be able to use the packages for soda, bottled water or cafe al bacio?
If it was a PERK as part of your booking, both in the cabin will receive the package. Those under 21 will have the non-alcoholic pkg.
It's when you BUY a drink package that it only applies to the person purchasing it.
You are good to go!

Interesting comment about "price match". I have had my price adjusted after booking (when price went down) with no problem whatsoever. I wonder if this is a new policy? Hope not!
-
I booked an inside accessible stateroom in the Yacht Club on Seaside two years before my actual sailing. It was the only category still available and I had no problem booking it. (Yacht Club cabins sell out very quickly, as was the case here.) So, it can be done.

The port should show up on your itinerary.

Thank you . I really did search their website before asking.. It has changed so many times it's hard to find info.
Agreed! I have found that if you go all the way to the bottom of the front page and click on "site map" that that is where you can usually find what you're looking for.

Were there one or two formal nights? Do you remember how many production shows on the five nights? Thanks
From Celebrity web site:
All cruises that are 7 nights or longer will feature two Evening Chic nights. Any cruise 6-nights or shorter will feature one Evening Chic night. All other nights of the cruise will feature Smart Casual attire.

Wonder if I can have it applied to my 2 upcoming Celebrity cruises, one on Edge and the other on Silhouette? Neither have reach final payment. I will look into it and report back.
BTW, I got the e-mail.
Fine print says cruise must be BOOKED 10/31 - 11/5, so I don't believe your already booked cruises will qualify.

Unfortunately, the muster drill on MSC is an abomination. At least it is short! I always sit up against the wall nearest the elevator. That way I can escape immediately to the elevator and back to peace and quiet in the YC!
