  1. I find that my orientation on the ship is what counts. First cruise with my sister was on the original Royal Princess, Buenos Aires to Manaus. We had an OV cabin pretty far forward on promenade deck. The bunks were under the window, and we both found we could not sit in our beds and read, etc. We had to go out into other areas of the ship. I have been all the way forward on Carnival Splendor and not had any problem. When it got rough on QE2 in the Irish Sea we had to resort to our seabands, which work for us. I found in a porthole cabin forward on Carnival Celebration, I couldn't sit facing the portholes and read or compute. Last month on Carnival Glory in another porthole cabin. pretty far forward and low, I again found I couldn't sit facing the porthole on a bouncy night and use the computer to write my journal. I had to give up and go to bed. It was late, anyway. So for me/us, position on ship doesn't matter, orientation does. EM

  2. Hello,

I'm booking the Sept. 2017 cruise on the Reflection for my 30 year old daughter and her soon to be husband for their honeymoon next year. I put a deposit on an oceanview room, 3129. It says the room has a convertible sofa bed. I assume it"s a sofa that makes into a bed if you have more than two people staying in the room and that there is also a real bed (or two twins that make into a double bed) in the room. Then I got to thinking that maybe the convertible sofa is the only bed? And if so would it be big enough for two adults? Does anyone know?

    Thank you

There will be a 'queen' about 66" wide, that can be separated into twins. Also a couch that is convertible by placing a mattress on top. EM

  3. If you ask on the forum here for P&O-UK you can get the info you need. but I believe virtually all P&O ships have self serve laundries.

Looking at the deck plans there is one on deck 9 aft and deck 11 forward. EM

  4. Suggest you ask this on the forum here for Other Cruise Lines, under Cruise Lines A-O. Since Magellan sails for Cruise & Maritime, many here will not be familiar with her or the cruise line. Folks at Other Cruise Lines may be able to tell you what the usual procedure is for C&M. EM

  5. First, does he have a handicapped cabin booked? A real one, not a modified one. Second, your table assignment will be on your Sail & Sign card if you have traditional dining. As soon as you can drop off your carryons in your cabin, go down to the MDR to see where your table is and if it is accessible to the wheelchair. the Maitre d' shoud be there to help you. If you have Anytime dining, it won't be an issue as they will escort you to an accessible table. EM

  6. I do not find the Caribbean in summer to be as hot as my home in GA, nor as hot as the Greek islands, Kusadasi, etc. Your cruise line choices in Summer as not as broad as they would be in winter, but still, you will have Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Disney, NCL, MSC Divina, and Celebrity will have Equinox in the Caribbean next summer. I suggest you research the islands in the Caribbean and make a list of some you would like to visit. then go to http://www.cruisetimetables.com and see who is calling there. Choosing islands from the Ports of Call list will tell you who is calling and their itineraries. You can also use the Departure ports to find ships and their itineraries. EM

  7. i have booked a cruise with MSC, since April last year, one of the grand voyages, and was issued a suit room with outside balcony. room number given on our paperwork and we both were happy with this as I am disabled. today msc asked me to log in and electronically fast tracked on the ship. however they have now given us a different cabin, that is smaller. If I ask for a disabled room they are all inside which we don't want. the whole idea of this cruise was for me to take my afternoon breaks and my wife/ carer could sit on the settee, or balcony and keep an eye on me.. anything we can do, because at the moment I don't want to go, as the bathroom will be far too small for my needs, and I don't think my wife will fit in there with me, to wash me and do my usual hygiene routine thank you all for reading this post

You need to post this on the MSC forum here at CC, under Cruise Lines A-O. You haven't said which ship you are booked on, nor what type suite you booked - you did mean suite, not cabin? MSC has been known to switch people out of the large square Yacht Club cabins to the regular ones, to reward people for various reasons. I think there is a lot more to this situation than is stated, and should be addressed on the MSC forum. EM
