  1. There were some discrepancies between the printed where and when and the navigator app when it came to locations of events. As we were told, if there is a discrepancy, go with the printed copy. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  2. On Westerdam two weeks ago, both of us were able to log on at the same time. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

    Misty Fjords Alaska

We did the boat and loved it, but we were lucky and had a super clear day. We had more time in the monument area than the planes did and I loved it. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  4. Had no complaints with Allen marine at all and used them in Juneau and Ketchikan. Their tour was great. We did the best of Juneau which also included a lunch stop at orca point lodge. Mendenhall was a little short on time but worked out since the trail to nugget falls was flooded. We saw whales but nothing like breaches or anything. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  5. On Westerdam last week it was 6 Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  6. Just about to disembark Westerdam and yesterday at the captain’s Q&A session, someone asked what his most difficult moment as a captain was and he said two weeks ago when a passenger decided to take his own life. So guessing that he was referring to this and they were able to confirm suicide. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  7. There are only two types of divers. Those that pee in their wetsuit and those that lie about peeing in their wetsuit. Not sure I’d want one that someone else peed in. That said, similar to what you’d find all down the west coast. Kelp is cool but there’s way better kelp in California. I’m not doing this on my Ketchikan stop and I don’t feel bad about it. 8. Halibut fishing is about the most boring form of fishing ever. They do t have much fight to them, just dead weight. Sort of like hooking the barn door and dragging it up from the bottom. Of course they do taste good so there you go. But yeah, Homer is the big port and if you go down the spit, you won’t be able to spit without hitting a halibut charter operation. Seward also has some good options for halibut I hear, but I’ve never gone. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  9. Good rule of thumb. If it’s close to the cruise port, like within a block or two, it’s a rip off. Don’t be stupid. Not a fan of DI at all, but the cruise lines promote them because they get big money to do so. It’s not hard to figure this out. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  10. I saw a price drop on the cruise I’m going on Sunday on the day of my final payment. In calling HAL, they couldn’t adjust the price but they did give me a free upgrade from a regular verandah to a signature suite. Once you pay your final payment, you’re locked in usually but my PCC was pretty cool about it and hooked me up. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  11. It’s nobody here making these rules. These are well-established government regulations to prevent the spread of disease to both humans and livestock/produce. Try bringing apples into California from Nevada without proper documentation and inspection and just see how it goes. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  12. I use both systems at work and for most things they’re so similar as to be almost identical. Plus the terms and stuff you’ll use will translate over to the help menus on your Mac if you need it. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  13. You can buy the prepaid beverage cards on the HAL website. I think you can also buy on board Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  14. Better deal is to get one of the prepaid drink cards and use it to pay per drink. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  15. Doing the math, the break even point is about 8 alcoholic drinks per day. Don’t waste your 15 drink limit on cheap stuff like soda. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
