Had a great trip on the Rebel Yell with Captain Claudia to JVD. Loved it!

Same….and we always take the earliest time slot so that we can enjoy the beach before the 2nd wave arrives. It's the only time in my life that I start drinking before 9am lol! I just wish the excursion allowed for more time because it's torture having to leave once your time is up LOL!

Thanks for posting @Chesneygirl. Why does this not surprise me? NCL should've hired you right then to do their TV commercials! Yeah, 30 seconds is not long enough to convey what you want on video, but you still did an excellent job.  I always look forward to your Throwback Thursday videos. Thanks again...

Thanks for your kind and positive words. They're always appreciated! 💓

  3. Today's throw back video goes way back to November of 2013!

NCL introduced a 30 second video contest to their jingle "Cruise Like A Norwegian" which I entered.

They narrowed it down to 3 finalists and mine was one of them. From there the voting was opened up to the public and my submission ended up being the winning entry! Perhaps you voted for me…if so THANK YOU! :classic_biggrin:

This was the winning entry that I submitted:

  4. This was my daughter and one of her BFF's overcoming their fears. The jump was actually quite a bit higher than what it looks like in this video. I will admit I had a several moments of pure panic when I didn't see them come back right away. I didn't realize they had to follow a trail inside the cliffs that lead them back out. After they went once, all they wanted to do was keep doing it! I think this is one of those moments that they will always remember.

Thank you for sharing this video!  Really makes me realize how much I miss cruising.....watching you board and the excitement of the crew welcoming you!  JVD...we have been there and plan on going back in August on the Breakaway!!

    Oh how I miss cruising!!!!!

You are very welcome! We absolutely love JVD! I hope your cruise goes as planned in August!

  6. This entire video including the time lapses was shot using just a GoPro Hero 5.

We left Boston's cold and snow for some fun in the sun in the Caribbean. We boarded the beautiful Norwegian Escape from Miami on February 4, 2017 for a 7 day cruise to explore the islands of St Thomas and St John in the US Virgin Islands as well as Tortola and Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands with a final stop in Nassau, Bahamas. I will post a link in the next comment for the Bloopers and Out Takes that never made it into this video. Hope you enjoy!

The couple said that the ship left 2 hours earlier than they expected. I find that hard to believe and if it was indeed true and the ships had changed the departure time (especially making it 2 hrs earlier), the ship's crew would have ensured all passengers were notified of this change way in advance. I still think they lost track of time at the bar celebrating their new marriage.

I do find some of their explanation a little iffy…It was also said back at the time,  on the RCL CC boards that the people on that sailing were notified in October that there was going to be a change to their port time. That letter/email was sent 4 months before the actual sailing. Plus isn't it funny that the other 5998 passengers all managed to get back in time. I know they said there were others but honestly we never saw anyone else get left behind.

I find it interesting that the ship left with their belongings still onboard. I had heard (and seen) that the crew pack up the cabin and leave the passengers' belongings with the port authorities. I know I have seen something that looks like this a few times with what I assumed were passengers were left behind or chose to stay behind. I have definitely seen then loading up luggage onto a shuttle, cab, or golf cart as they are still calling out names just before departure.

The couple gave an interview after this had happened. This is what she had to say...

  9. When this all took place, we were on the Bliss docked next to the Symphony of the Seas. We could hear their names being called out repeatedly for a good 30 minutes before they decided to lift the gang way. So I knew to get my camera ready because at some point this couple would be showing up!

Some fun facts that I learned after the video was released...

    - Turns out the woman in the video was a famous actress from Costa Rica

    - They were on their honeymoon

    - Luckily they were on the last full day of their cruise, the ship was headed back to Miami the next day

    - They had to buy one way tickets back to Miami so they could meet the ship the next day to collect their belongings

I later read from an interview that she gave, that they boarded a plane back to Miami in their swimsuits (as seen in the video) the same day this happened. They were able to stay with family in Miami and went to Target to buy some clothes.  She said it took hours and hours the next day to collect their belongings from RCL. They had to wait for the entire ship to disembark and then were not allowed to reboard. The crew packed up all of their belongings and brought it out to them.
