  1. Ours was a 28day 7 port cruise where it sounded like barking seals were brought aboard right after we left Hawaii. Perhaps if people who had contracted a cold or something worse had masked up in consideration of others the sickness might have not spread so much. After Hawaii we had at least 9 medical evacs in ports and at least 1 death and possibly more. As we progressed longer into the cruise, more and more were getting sick. The ship felt empty as a lot of concerned or really sick people did stay in their cabins and lay low. The medical dept was only taking people with "life threatening" cases and ran out of meds to give out. I'm glad I'm healthy and active and it only hit me 2 days from the end of the cruise. Got off Friday, was at Urgent care 2 hrs later and 2 weeks later was back flying and working out. The cough was a ***** and still lingers. I hope others did as well. Won't stop us, next 2 cruises are 25 and 40 days long. We carry are own meds and try as best as we can to stay safe and avoid the coughing crowds, almost worked. Masks are here to stay for a reason. Have fun, but if you feel at the least bit unwell, mask up and help stop the spread in a closed society at sea. Aloha
  2. I think Covid would have been better then the Bronchial Infection going around the Crown when we were on.
  3. We were on the Crown for 28 days in March/April. Ship was in very good condition. There was an occasional elevator out of service, here and there. We did have a leaking prop shaft that caused us to drift for about 45-1hr, everything was operable during that time. We arrived at all ports on time, 14hrs ahead of schedule for a medical into Papeete. Our mattress was the worst I've ever had on a ship, and the sofa cushions were a little old. The propulsion problems have been taken care of and we never experienced the toilet problems that were reported. The buffet food wasn't very good, but the dining room food was good. I never saw the Carib Cafe open but someone else said it was open for some sort of desert special thing.
  4. I had the seabass and my wife had a fillet. Took a bite of her fillet hit something, gissle? and broke a tooth. Root canal yesterday.
  5. Room Service menu. I saw this a lot as I ordered Fosters.
  6. So no answer, are you able to access the center button to change the input? You have had a lot of great info.
  7. Air shot, or Buttdial. We'll be heading to Cape Coral after the cruise to visit friends.
  8. We were on the Crown for 28days and followed the directions to plug in and change the input on the TV. I was able to stream YouTube TV from my phone onto my TV. Besides having to get the HDMI cord into the back of the TV on the Regal, is the center button still enabled to change the input? We will on the Regal in Sept/Oct and it would be great to stream some college football games. Love ordering 8 beers at a time and having our own tailgate party in the room. We will be doing a TA, so hoping wifi will be adiquate. Mahalo
  9. There have been posts of laundry being free, just like the one after the prices post here. I believe the OP was asking to find out if the laundry on the Regal has been free. I'll add that it was free on the Crown last month.
  10. Mahalo, we've booked The Grace Hotel. We will be arriving on a Thursday for a 3 night stay prior to our cruise. I'll take a look at Meriton apartments.
  11. Looking for recommendations on a mid level hotel for a few nights pre cruise at the end of March next year. Did a quick look and saw a hotel with airport pick up in the CBD. If no transportation, what is the best way to get down to the CBD, or to The Rocks. What area is best for a short stay? Mahalo
  12. Is there anything as a bad bar๐Ÿ˜€
  13. Helicopter to glacier and sled dog ride( Coastal Helicopters. Juneau) Not much walking. Misty Fjords plane or helicopter trip. Both low impact
  14. Want to plan a trip on these 2 itineraries that would be Feb22-March19 in 2025. Princess has decided to move our go to cabin to guarantee only so we will be booking a cabin with a fully uncovered balcony. Just wondering what to expect, I know weather can change, just looking for basics. Mahalo
  15. 100%, wife wants 2 Lattes in the am and I want one. Very easy to carry and they stay warm.
  16. We also carry Medjet Assist insurance.
  17. Just returned from a 28day Hawaii/Samoa/Tahiti sailing. It was quite the trip. We had close to 9 medical evacuations, deaths( can't confirm ) early arrivals for medicals,a 180 turn back to Papeete to do a air evac, but it was determined too rough and instead did an unscheduled stop in Nuku Hiva to evac a passenger. This was a long cruise and at 65, I felt young. Reading from our roll call post cruise it seems that there was a problem getting into the medical dept. Did see a few "covid" tables, but the big thing going around was the Bronchial Infection. Soooo many people hacking, it sounded like pier 39 at San Fran with the seals barking. The last 8 days were at sea and it was amazing to see the ship so empty out and about. Dining room, you could hear the hacking all over the place. From what I've read, people were having a hard time getting into medical and some were just turned away. It was posted that they were only taking "life threatening" cases. They ran out of meds for the controlled sick people. We didn't go to shows or crowded venues, but I suspect I got the infection in the coughing line to tender back to the ship in Moorea. Luckily I'm in good physical shape and health. My symptoms slowly crept up till I really accepted it on the last day of the cruise. I didn't start the hacking till Friday when we disembarked and then was masked up for my fellow passengers. What my PSA is, make sure you take your own meds! We had Dayquil/Nightquil, Musinex, Airborne, and Cordecendan. And we had a good supply of masks! I know the Dr is an independent contractor, but wonder who determines what and quantity of meds onboard. This cough is a B*tch, not fun at all. Hope for speedy recovery of all those infected on this cruise. I did my best not to pass it along, can't say that for a lot of the other seals. Aloha
  18. Didn't try that. If not sailing solo, what if you try and create separate booking for 2nd cruise under other passenger as lead name? Never know with Princess.
  19. We totally "blinged" out Moms scooter. No doubt who it belonged to!
  20. I just did a dummy bid while looking at 2025 Panama canal sailings and guess what? I was able to book and chose a cabin in the ME Cat on the Emerald Princess, but still wasn't able to book one on the Crown in same time frame. Nothing is standard with Princess these days.
  21. I just ran a few dummy bookings to find the same thing. Lead in was what my TA told me . I was worried when club class camei that they'd take those rooms. Guess they're not as desirable as we think. Of to look at Holland and Celebrity offerings.
  22. Awhile back in a posting someone posted that they were unable to book a Cat ME mini suite. On the Grand and the Crown class ships these cabins are the ones far aft on the Emerald Deck, and the ones full forward on the Dolphin deck. There are only 6 on each side of the ship on the Emerald. They are very desirable as they are fully covered and the back 2 have extended balconies. We love these cabins and have sailed in them numerous times. We just returned from a 28day sailing on the Crown in one of them. We also have one booked on the Carib Princess for the summer of 2024 in Europe. Why have they gone to this pricing? I just got off the phone with a not so helpful PVP, and she assured me that the cat ME is guar only. Anyone have an email or # to call to try and see if there is anyway to book one of these cabins, or at least find out why they have gone to this model. We might just have to switch companies for our cruise in Aus/NZ as we don't want an uncovered mini in the heat. Mahalo, just a bit frustrated.
  23. Guess I missed that one, but did enough Chocolate Chip cookies to hold me over till our Sept Regal cruise. What I missed from before in the Carib was the "specialty" days. Ramen, Indian, Chinese Wok, and others. Sure hope the Regal has a better buffet for our next 25days, and alot less coughing hacking clueless passengers!
