  1. As “Desert Cruizers” said they will cash Travelers checks. I used to bring most of my money in traveler checks but for the past couple of years I haven’t been able to find any place that issues them. If you can find a place that issues travelers checks it is a good safe way to bring money on the cruise.

  2. Yes, I've read about them in the past but never thought I'd get one. I don't have the courage to ask DH how much he actually lost in the casino.

I don’t think you have to lose a bunch of money to get one of these offers. It seems that just spending time gambling can do it, even if you wind up winning.

  3. I have read about these casino deals once in a while. I don’t play in the casino very much, so I have never received an offer myself. If I received an offer like the one you got I would jump on it.

    Great deal, congratulations!

  4. I’m not saying that gloves aren’t a good thing to do, but let’s look at what it would take for the cruise line to furnish gloves at the buffet.

Let’s say there are 3000 passengers on a ship. Let’s say that 2000 of them go to the buffet for breakfast and lunch. Each of these 2000 people use two pair of gloves per day. OK, let’s use only one glove at a time. We have 2000 people times 2 for a daily total of 4000 gloves per day. Now we are on a 10 day cruise so we have 4000 gloves times 10 days for a total of 40,000 gloves being used per cruise. That is a lot of gloves to be purchasing, storing and then the disposal problem.

I doubt that the cruise lines will be adding gloves to the buffet. This will also probably increase the lack of hand washing by passengers.

  5. For a day and a half (11/8/2017 and 11/9/2017) I couldn’t get onto any of the Cruise Critic Boards. I thought that the boards were down for some reason. When I got back on I found that people had been posting the entire time that I off. I couldn’t get on by using different browsers and three different computers. I could get onto the Cruise Critic web site, just not the boards.

I have not had any other problems with the boards.

  6. Here is the list that I have. It is about 1-1/2 years old. If you email the person listed and they are no longer the contact, they will pass it along to the correct person.

  7. I have heard this on several Princess ships. It is definitely coming from the bathroom vent. It is very low and you won’ hear it unless there is no extra noise in your cabin. I also have good hearing in the high range which these sounds seem to be in. I don’t think these are actually voices although that is the first impression I got. It must be something from the vent system that makes the sounds. I must admit that the sounds are a little creepy.

BTW, my wife has never heard the sounds. Her hearing is not as sensitive as mine.

  8. A few years ago we found only one of our two bags in the bag holding area after our cruise. We looked and looked for the missing bag. We also got a Princess representative to help us. We stayed until there were only about five bags remaining. Finally a passenger came back in with our missing bag. They had taken it by mistake. I have always wondered how someone could take the wrong bag. Matter of fact this wasn’t the wrong bag but an extra bag for them. We also had colored yarn tied around the handles. Some People!

  9. On a cruise right now. This changeover to the "Permium Beverage Package" concept has every server I have dealt with confused. Some cruisers got a sticker others did not. Some servers still trying to say he AIBP package only gets a 25% discount while others say 40% on wine in the dining room. It is a confusing mess that requires an explanation to most servers you buy a drink from. Princess has done a very poor job of this transition.

Here is what Princess says on the web:

    Your Premier Beverage Package includes:

·All beer, wine by the glass and cocktails $12.00 USD and under as listed on our menu(s) or $16.00 AUD and under for ships based in Australia

    ·Bottled water (500ml only)

·Fountain sodas, fresh juices (if available), specialty coffees and teas, Red Bull energy drinks

    ·Gong Cha items (if available)

    ·Frappe’sat Coffee & Cones

·Smoothies and milk shakes (if available)

·Enjoy the convenience of your beverage package on our Private Islands and all food and beverage venues that offer beverage service

    (Shouldn’t all include M&G’s?)

The package includes an extra 25% discount on the following items that are otherwise excluded from the package:

    ·All bottles of wine

·One-liter bottles of water (if dining at a specialty venue, a large one-liter bottle of water, still or sparkling, is covered by the package)

    ·Canned soda, and bottled juices

  10. My guess as to why is Princess making this change to the drink policy at the group events. I think that Princess is concerned that at the large events people who get free (already paid for) drinks may share them with other passengers. This is only a guess on my part.

  11. I don’t want a card that gives you points for any one particular company. I want the cash back to spend as I want. I use the Citi Double Cash Card. I get 2% cash back on all of my purchases. I don’t have to worry about which purchases get a higher percent back. BTW, there is no fee for this card.

  12. I was lucky in not having children who were picky eaters when growing up. Now, when it comes to my sister-in-law’s kids, this is a very different situation. They were (and still are to a point) very picky eaters. They were so picky that if a sandwich was cut in the wrong direction they complained. Well, their family went on a cruise one year and guess what? They were still picky eaters, but they did find some things to eat. One thing they actually loved was the Fettucine Alfredo. There is so much variety of food on the ship that she should be able to find some things that she likes.

  13. Wondering which way to go. We will need to get from the port in LA to LAX. The flight time isn't tight so that isn't an issue. Just wondering if we should take a taxi or a Princess transfer would be the better idea. I guess we had a transfer once when we did our connieusseur cruise tour but I don't recall what the cost was for that. I suppose there must be a Super Shuttle option as well? Really not at all sure. We've only sailed out of LA once before and we drove down that time so we've never dealt with the trip to the airport.

This past October we coordinated a ride (San Pedro to LAX) with two other couples from our roll call. We made reservations for a dedicated van through Super Shuttle. I think the cost was about $24 per couple which included the tip. There was a Super Shuttle representative right outside of the terminal and we had our shuttle in less than 5 minutes.

  14. you don't have to do a booking to get a flight quote. Just sign in (so you make sure you get "your" pricing), go to the cruise you're interested in, click on flight quotes. Enter your airport, dates, etc and you'll get the list of available flights.

Thank you. I hadn’t noticed that before.

  15. No problem for me. I just tried a dummy booking looking for flights, no problem and went to an existing booking and again no problem looking at other flights if I wanted to change the current flight. Don't know what to tell you.

How do you do a “Dummy Booking” to check for the flight prices?

I understand about doing the “Add or Modify Flights” method of seeing new air fares, but when I do a new booking they want me to fill out all of me information about myself. Is this the method you are referring to?
