Yet the Suites and the Sunset Verandas have higher price tags.  They could do the same with the Sunset Verandas to add more space.  Would people pay as much for them?

It seems like the Sunset Verandas are at a higher price point and sell out fast because they don't have the IVs.

The lack of IV's on the Sunset Verandah cabins has nothing to do with their popularity, IMO. They’ve been highly desirable for many years which is confirmed by the higher price point that X assigns them.

So we are on page 9 already.

No one has been able to answer the question:

If the IVs are so good,  then why are they not in the suites?

The “infinite verandah” is supposed to “add” space to those particular cabins when opened.

Suites are already larger in size so an “IV” isn’t necessary.

    IMHO.

Hi all seasoned X cruisers. I found a nice topic over at the RCI- board- about an old RCI - Ship ( Song of America) ! I rather liked those old pictures and memories of voyages- cruises - past. So I thought to share a few pictures of my first voyages on board Millenium, Summit... !  Those pictures are from 2001 and 2002 - Millenium and Summit. Both the Speciality Restaurants as they appeared  back then. Those have been wonderul Speciality - Restaurants. Tuscany Grill- nice too, but far from the old style- my opinion - of course.

The decor reminds me of the SS Norway which was my first sailing on a cruise ship. There was a lot of “elegance “ back then. 😉😊

  4. I'm really surprised. We've sailed in the Retreat on Beyond and never witnessed anything like you are describing.

I believe there are certain written rules of conduct that X has regarding guest's treatment of their staff. It will be interesting to see how this situation is handled.

Sorry to hear.   I'm sure there must be others.   When Celebrity drops the ball like this it is a real kick in the face.

Do you have the Zenith Desk phone number.   If not email me and I will send to your or could just e-mail Andrea Shey at  ashey@celbrity.com -  As Director of Loyalty she will be the best person to address the issue.

Thank you for this helpful information. 💜

Fantastic.    Sounds like you will be having your initiation on your next cruise.   You can invite as many of your friends as you like or can have it for just the two of you.     We only had one guest for our event.

Hope they have enough Zenith's aboard for your first Zenith Lunch and reception.

I'm glad that I saw this thread. We made Zenith last year.

On our first cruise after reaching this milestone we thought there would be some sort of “initiation” or recognition. Neither happened.

On the very next cruise we sailed on, there was a Zenith lunch which we were invited to.

Just curious, I wonder if there are others who never were initiated?

It’s been a while since I’ve booked through FBC, but there are notations in the different fare classes whether it was refundable or not.  Seat selection won’t trigger payment.

I’ve only used FBC one time.

We wanted to choose our seats at the time of booking instead of waiting many months until final payment.

Even though FBC stated full payment wasn’t required, for some reason the system would not allow seat selection without full payment, so I paid.

I realized then that there was no advantage, (for us) to use FBC.

As I said we are looking for a relaxing vacation without hordes of kids but at the same time not feeling we are at a retirement home. So it is no middle ground - either families with kids or the majority are 80++?

Our experience over many, many years of sailing with X has been that the demographic of their passengers is usually a wide range of ages.
We have never seen “hordes of kids” on any of our cruises either.

Thinking of trying Celebrity, and the Reflection looks good for 2025 to Aruba

Cruised on NCL ( 10x) and Royal (2x) before

I see good reviews and some bad

We are not big foodies, go to some shows and enjoy the islands

what is your Opinion of this ship compared to the other lines

    Thanks

We've sailed exclusively with X for the past 10 years.
Before the Edge ships came into service, Reflection was our favorite S-class ship. We sailed on her 9 times. I hope you will like her as much as we did.

Very true but those of who do and booked when it was offered should at least be given formal notice that the service was being taken away and offered some sort of alternative, e.g. cancellation with full refund, OBC, etc.

My previous comment was referring to our personal situation as we normally book Sky Suites but really have no use for a Butler.

Therefore we don’t need or want to be offered any form of compensation such as OBC, etc.. hence the YMMV. 😊

Now if they would bring back Conundrum, my wife would be happy. I am getting my favorite, so I have been happy. 😁

    Jackie's got good taste. 👍

    So what’s your favorite?

“Should I carry on or porter check my bidet?”

Do you know how much they weigh? If flying, I'm pretty sure it would put you over your Airline weight allowance. 😉
