No way I would ever wear a jacket on a cruise. (Note: less than 1000 words)We do because the dining rooms are usually quite cold, in our opinion.

Hi Everyone, we're new to Celebrity and are cruising Feb. 5, 10 nights, Caribbean. Will a button down shirt and slacks be sufficient to eat in the main dining room?
Thanks
Absolutely.
Enjoy your cruise!

My farther was born in a little village in Ukraine; I was born in Saint Petersburg. Am I from Ukraine, the Ukraine (never heard of such until this reading), or some other place? Or I am simply from Buffalo?
Happy Birthday to me, and Go Bills (in 3 days)!!!
I was fortunate to visit St. Petersburg in the ‘60's when it was known as Leningrad. I loved the city's architecture and the Hermitage which was my first visit to a major museum.
Wishing you a very Happy Birthday! 🎂

Which is my personal boiling point. I can handle Millie and Connie - they are decent words in and of themselves. But to refer to a ship as "Silly" is, well, just silly!
Perhaps it would be better if it was spelled Sillie? 😁

While I suppose X could sell ones health info, it’s mainly to protect them against liability
Absolutely.

No.
X stopped that over a year ago, to protect their privacy.

Yes, there is a Retreat luggage drop off location right by the entrance to the Retreat. They used to have staff with a sign but haven't seen that for a while. There is a porter there and if you tell them you are in a suite they take your luggage to a scanner to the left of the Retreat entrance to the terminal. I don't know if this applies to sky suites.
It did for us when we were in aSky Suites.

Might have joined if I liked turkey legs, tankards, and women in pointy hats with ribbons!
That’s too bad, you missed out on a lot of fun!
Pointy hats and tankards were not my style, I preferred circlets and goblets.- 1

No way anyone would pay the sky high Sky Suite fares today without the lounge access….
I agree, you are absolutely correct.

What does that have to do with choosing things that are hard to spell? You see the mangling of the restaurant name on these boards almost every day. Never mind that Silhouette and Millennium are hard to spell because of the double letters, as other examples (and a big reason why you see nicknames instead).
Xcel is easy to spell but doesn't make brand sense. Points to an identity crises, which of course we're seeing daily. And of course a good deal of the North American market already associate that spelling with the energy company while a bigger chunk are going to immediately think of Microsoft products instead, regardless of spelling.
I guess I should have added that I do not find Luminae hard to spell.
I also disagree with you about Xcel. No one should be confused, as the Ship's name is “Celebrity Xcel.”
Moving on… ☮️

As someone already mentioned, a big problem with Celebrity is that they choose things that are hard to spell. Poor Luminaire. Luminay? Lumenaynay?
And now they're just making up words like Xcel.
X is not the only company to use the name Luminae.
And they weren’t the first, or only company to use Xcel either..Google is your friend. 😉

I hear you....I am not a fan of Silly, Millie, Connie nicknames either.
IMO, nicknames are frequently used because they are easy to spell.

I just figured easier for those scanning the subject of the threads to match their question so 10 people don't ask the same thing. LOL
In my experience, that rarely happens on the same day.
Btw, many people like the infinite verandahs.- 1

The ones making the biggest fuss about this are probably the ones staying in Sky Suites which are Junior Suites and should be excluded from the Retreat and also with limited access to Luminae. A full dedicated personal buttler only makes sense from Edge Villa and above and even for Celebrity suites there should be a buttler service team and not a individual peron in charge. This would also require X to market the different suite products differently and not give people the feeling as soon as you are in the "Retreat" you are surrounded by buttlers that to everything for you, which we all know is not the case.
Wow…
For the past 20 years all of our cruises with X have been in suites, Sky and above, except for 3.Quite frankly we wouldn’t miss not having a Butler because we rarely ever used their services.
And as for being excluded from the Retreat and Luminae, considering the price we pay for those “junior"Sky suites, we have paid for the privilege.- 10

$15 is a stretch....😉
Hardly. I just priced out a new sandwich at a nearby Subway and it came to $ 19.99 plus tax.
Of course YMMV.

I believe what he is saying, and I am believe he will correct me if I am incorrect, is that Aqua Class bookings can be made "cruise only". But, the suite class must be booked including the premium drink package and internet that Zeniths get free. As in, they have to pay for if they book suites.
Thanks for clarifying.
It's been a long day… 😉

If you are in a suite you still pay for drinks as a part of your fare even though you as a Zenith receive the Premium drink package as a benefit. They removed this double billing in Aqua Class if you are a Zenith. I'm so glad that I drink only sugar free, non alcohol drinks.
So you’re implying that as far as X is concerned, Aqua Class outranks Suites regarding the drink package for Zeniths?

We feel the same. I always thought you get a little shafted as Blu isn't open for lunch
Thanks for posting that. 😊
I forgot Luminae is only open for lunch on certain days too.

I'll answer the question with another question, how many would NOT book AQ class if Blu was NOT inclusive?
We would not.
Blu, as well as Luminae, are supposed to be exclusive to guests paying for Aqua class and Retreat (Suite) accommodations. They are not very large venues and many times guests have to wait to be seated for lunch and dinner.
Adding additional guests, regardless of paying for the privilege, would just make the situation worse.
