  1. I love my New York City trips as much as cruising, my problem is there is no drink package that covers the bars there , but better entertainment, my 2 bathroom 800 sq Ft suite isn’t cheap , and cruise can’t match the food .
  2. 214 to MSc seaside yacht club 318 to rock and romance cruise with Air Supply, Guess Who, Mellisa Manchester, Kansas, Al Stewart , etc etc
  3. Cruises are really casual compared to a decade ago, I used to pack a tux now I don’t even bring a sports jacket for most cruises. As Bob said the times they are a changing 😁.
  4. I believe there is a charter filled with broadway artist , lots of music charters we annually do a 70’s music charter on celebrity. It sells our really quick did it last 6 years.
  5. Our last Mediterranean cruise was in September and it was way to hot , it was miserable visiting the Vatican where no shorts are allowed and no a/c or fans ,wife thought she would pass our . Other Mediterranean was in March and weather was perfect for walking around.
  6. Make sure you arrive at least two days early, I would prefer 3 . Barcelona is a beautiful city with lots to do and fairly inexpensive, perfect city to start a cruise. What ports will you be visiting? Join your roll call , we did most of our tours with other people from our ship which is cheaper , less crowded and more enjoyable that rccl tours. Watch Rick Steves videos of your ports on YouTube.
  7. Hobby is so much closer to Galveston than IAH much better for anybody taking a cruise.
  8. Back in the 1970’s I worked across the street fro Fraunce’s tavern, now about a block away from it is a street filled with pubs and traffic is not allowed, also a few blocks from Trinity church where Alexander Hamilton is buried, which is a few blocks from World Trade Center museum and memorial. But tons of other things in midtown.
  9. We love Gallaghers, which also has a fantastic bar , seen many famous people there including George C Scott , we go there daily for drinks when in the city . It’s a hundred years old at original location.
  10. I prefer midtown but my wife wants us to have another dinner at Delmonic’s which is a famous upscale steak restaurant.
  11. Got my car back from the shop , it was under 500 so I am happy , planning on keeping car , only 38k miles and I haven’t had a car payment in a decade . Only 24 days to New York City 😁 still meet some friends from more than 60 years ago although not many left.
  12. If in a full suite ( grand suite or above) you also get breakfast in specialty restaurant normally chops. You will be charged for specialty restaurant, I would consider the UDP which allows all dinners in specialty and lunch on sea days.
  13. Have a great time , place looks great , the older I have gotten the less BS I am willing to put up with and I am almost a decade older .
  14. We love hotel michealanglo, only place we stay , upscale dozens of restaurants within a few blocks it’s midtown Manhattan, but you can have a great dinner and listen to music if you want .
  15. I am in my 70’s and this is by far my favorite specialty restaurant on celebrity (or any cruise line) did it twice last month . 4 course meal , fun show .
  16. 216 to MSc seaside yacht club 320 to rock and romance music charter in royal suite on celebrity summit
  17. That’s our struggle, we got our last two kittens from a great non kill shelter close to us , they told us they were Siamese but one was grey and white other looked Siamese but it seemed to be a ragdoll which my wife totally loved . She is thinking of buying a ragdoll kitten, but ideally we want two kittens who are already bonded together.
  18. We most likely will do serious looking after we get back from New York next month , even though we have a great cat sitter it most likely not a good idea to leave two kittens alone for a week right after we get them . thanks everyone who posted pictures of your beautiful cats , I really appreciate seeing them .
