Would appreciate-Suggestions on hotel to stay 2 days before cruise ( July 2025) with airport shuttle and possibly cruise port shuttle. TIA

We felt very unsafe years ago in DR- soldiers carrying rifles that looked like machine guns wasn’t very welcoming. Also - in Costa Rica- we were with a group of 8 and didn’t stay long in the area where the boat docked. In Cartagena we had hired a private driver and guide- and we felt very safe. We have been on 36 cruises and are very aware that things can happen….that tourists can be targeted- not every place is safe. So- I fully understand and appreciate the OP’s concern

Thank you! I’ll try trinity reservations. I wasn’t even looking at the Newark area since it seems to be convenient for Cape Liberty cruises - which we also have sailed from but usually just go day of. again- thanks

Request info on a hotel in the NJ side with possible shuttle to NYC port. The last time- about 6 years ago- I believe we stayed at Hilton Garden Inn in Ridgefield park. 138EAST was a very big help in the past and hoping to her/his input again. TIA

About 6 years ago we sailed out of NY and stayed in a hotel on Jersey side, kept our car there and had a shuttle - that I believe they order for us (8) at our request- to the NYC port. It may have been Hilton Garden Inn Ridgefield Park. However….their recent reviews have not been that good. I would appreciate input on hotels from those who have stayed more recently on the NJ side. I believe 138 EAST gave some great info years ago. Maybe she is still on these boards and will give some great info!

How did you get to the port? Did the hotel call a taxi for you or did you book a private car?

We would have to book a taxi in advance? How would we book them prior to arrival? We are use to having taxis waiting outside hotels or airports.

We are considering a cruise out of Southampton. How did you get from airport to hotel and then to port?

Do any hotels break the Southampton port offer shuttle from airport to hotel or from hotel to port?

What if you are docked at Terminal A - 6?
