  1. We to should be on the Star right now out of Southampton for 12 day cruise.
  2. Thank you for your review. All the wonderful pictures and more info on the Joy than we have been able to find. We are currently waiting and hoping our cruise in October 2020 will be a go. Sue
  3. Yes I believe that you would enjoy a Carnival cruise, we cruise alot every year(close to 3 months a year on all the major cruise lines) and we always get off a Carnival cruise smiling. But like others have said take at least a 7 day or longer cruise. Also our cabin location is that we love it in Spa area and that includes going to the thermostic pool and heated beds and all the various sauna room this is included in the price of your room. Usually on Carnival it is 3 generations of a family all there to spend fun time with grandparents and cousins, aunts etc and they have lots of laughs and seldom do we hear people complaining. The food on Carnival is good and of course Guys burgers are the best on the high seas. Go on Carnival, they even have a pool deck for adults only and they police it so it really is for adults only.
  4. so glad to hear you are well and look forward to more chats. We cannot wait for cruising to begin again.
  5. Funny funny stories, Thanks for all the laughs. Sue
  6. I have an FCC with NCL that expires December 2020. Does this mean I have to take a cruise by that date OR Do I only have to book a cruise by that date and take the cruise 2021? Thanks Sue
  7. We just returned from our winter in Florida, the drive was the best we have ever had, very light traffic. All gas stations were open, all rest areas on the highway open only take out food was available but we did know that before we left Florida. the border crossing was fast and our agent just told us to repeat after her that we know we had to self isolate for 14 days. Our agent was amazed that we had done our grocery shopping in the US as we knew we could not go out for 14 days, so if you live alone get your groceries in US before you cross the border. All hotels were open as well on our route, Safe drive.
  8. Wow, I have not thought of the Kapok Tree for years, we used to go there alot when our children were small. It was a neat place.
  9. We spent B2B2B on the Adventure in Feb. Loved the ship and we certainly had great waiters in main dining room. Our room was on deck 7 between the 2 elevators, easy to go anywhere. Currently we are in Ft. Lauderdale and the Adventure is parked just out side our condo, not far off shore, we feel like we could row out to say hi to all the great staff we had for our cruises. Too bad they cannot get off and come over for a dinner at our place.
  10. wow, loved your review and all the wonderful pictures. We will be in Miami in Jan (in 2 weeks). and looking to visit some of the places you mentioned. Our cruise is a Royal Caribbean cruise.
  11. We cruise a lot with both Royal (350 days) and Carnival 186 days and to us Carnival has the best food hands down. Between Guy's burgers and sandwiches available in Buffet and the food in MDR they win hands down. What Carnival does not do is exciting ports, like Asia, Middle East, etc so if you want to see the world you have to change cruise lines. We also book a spa cabin on Carnival and that cabin comes with free entrance to the heated pool, the heated lounge chairs in the spa and steam rooms. Also Carnival has a adult only sun deck and they have staff to keep out anyone who is under 18 years of age. lots of neat loungers on this deck. Yes, we also travel with NCL and Princess and MSC and Holland, (we are lucky enough to cruise 90 days per year) but we think for the money and really Caribbean cruise you cannot beat Carnival but all our cruises have been 7 days or longer Lots of families enjoy Carnival as it is much more affordable for 3 or 4 generations of families to have a holiday together. Sue
  12. No we did not take advantage of the on board booking. We have 10 cruises booked already for 2020 and really have no extra time available at this time. But you never know we may need at least one more cruise.
  13. we saw the shows in the World Stage at 6.30pm, then onto the Piano Bar for their set that lasted until 7.45 most nights, then you really do not have to change seats as you can hear the Rock and Roll band just fine from across the hall and we left for dinner about 8.15 so we heard the rock and roll for about 30 minutes of their show. After dinner we went back to the piano bar and about 10.45 we went to BBKings which is really just next door to listen to them the Classical String Quintet was before the 6.30 show, sometimes as early as 4pm in the BBKings room
