  1. You keep posting your version of an economics course, not sure why but okay. The bottom line is that these ship are sailing at full capacity, are being booked with the new younger management you describe and at the higher price points. I am one of them, I have many sailings booked with Celebrity on different class ships with different itineraries. I am also someone who wasn't completely blown away this past Feb on Beyond. In time what you predict might come to be but maybe not, we shall see. For now it appears People Want To Have Fun and are willing to pay for it while eating a burger and paying menu up charges which is what this thread was about. Life is only lived once and for years many lost time and loved ones that they can't get back so the new trajectory imo is that travelers/vacationers are willing to sacrifice in some areas just to Enjoy and Experience life. Just another point of view, Patty
  2. That was my thought... mix it up but in reverse. I've sailed M class out of SJU. LOVE the Southern Caribbean route. At this price point seems like it's not happening. Maybe NCL will have a deal that I'll grab in the next few months. Patty
  3. I went back to reprice and double check myself. Holy Moly! I give the slight edge to Cel for Itinerary but NCL's ship is clearly newer with more dining options. Cel Summit Feb 15th Aft Stateroom $3049. 56 non refund & no perk w/$250 OBC NCL Viva Feb 9th Aft stateroom $5798.20 w/wifi & $50 towards shore excursions. Removed Bev and Grats to make it comparable. and for giggles... RCCL Rhapsody Feb 16th Aft stateroom $3275 no perks I don't consider this itinerary or ship comparable at all. Just for price point knowledge 🤑 Still shocked! Patty
  4. Gotcha, I was honestly just curious. Looking to mix it up. I get bored of the Cel entertainment/shows. My original post on this did say "almost apples to apples" and for that price my friend who loves NCL also said go Celebrity. I've sailed the M class ships multiple times and find the pool decks too small but Viva isn't looking any better! I'm leaning towards Beyond 10 day. Patty
  5. I compared aft balcony with Feb dates. I even took screenshots and text them to my friend who likes NCL to see what I was missing, she was equally shocked. I'll do mock booking again later to double check myself.
  6. Beyond is nice ship, I'd be happy with the swap! Patty
  7. Yes out of San Juan. NCL was the Viva, new ship @ $5798 and Cel was the Summit, revolutionized @ $3049 so after OBC it was approx $2400 diff. both aft balconies. Patty
  8. LOVE your humor!!!! You Kill me!!!!! 😂 Patty
  9. Spot on! I priced a Cel & NCL cruise yesterday for a 2025 Southern Caribbean itinerary and NCL was $2400 more. It was almost apples to apples, I was shocked! Patty
  10. Simple fix~ don't order it. I seriously don't understand the uproar over this. The buffet was decimated in January and so many people defended the waste avenue for the change but those same people are now besides themselves over a burger. Not suggesting that it's you, just an overall observation. I don't go on cruises for yoga classes or water aerobics but I don't begrudge those who partake. I am not a fan of soul music but I watched many who do dance their hearts out. Celebrity is changing, there's no stopping it and I actually believe they 100% know what they're doing. This is about moving forward in the industry not staying stuck in the past. I am sure there has been enough research to know what the numbers are for old school cruiser preferences vs the new. The age of those currently booked and at what time those booking took place. They are adapting to what they see coming not what's always been around. I've said before that I believe we are their new target so maybe that's why I'm not nearly as bothered. I actually liked the IV and I don't mind variety and letting different styles evolve. I am happy to see Celebrity visit CoCoCay, hubby loves to play like a child and I enjoy walking off a ship without the barrage of vendors, hunting down a taxi and then having to do the same for our return to ship. We aren't millennials, retired 55 and 59 yrs old so speaking only for myself, it's not just about a number, it's about your desire, young spirit and willingness to embrace something new. To sum it up, in my experience and for most of those reporting here, the MDR food has been meh at best in the past few months so if they can produce a "good" burger, let's have it! Patty
  11. Post #47 I posted a screenshot, this is off Cel site. Patty
  12. Not to be argumentative but how is this port any different than any other in the Caribbean? I've seen 16k in Cozumel and St Maarten in a single day? Those beaches are packed! Honestly looking for your perspective? Patty
  13. I posted the earlier screenshot, pretty safe bet it's CoCoCay! My hubby is happy to play on the slides + I'm happy to sit in a chair without a taxi ride = Win Win! Although I do understand this won't be great news for all. Patty
  14. My husband is retired and 59 years old ~ Loves the Flow Rider! Guess this makes him young at heart 😁 Patty
  15. Waterslides have been delivered. Zack The Traveling Man has posted a screenshot on Insta from Celebrity's site, it is CocoCay.
  16. My DH actually likes a burger and often orders them even when paying a cover charge. He has in Le Grand and RGG so if there is a burger in one of the 4 the MDR's onboard Beyond this August, I am sure he will be the X passenger to give it a try, he's not too concerned with being "average" LOL! 😁 Pun intended. If no pics appear before then I'll post one Patty
  17. I'd like to see a pic also. Many enjoy the burger at Lawn Club & Rooftop Garden Grill & Le Grand Bistro so it is possible that this could be a good burger and not all bad. It's not what many would say is Fine Dining but I know My DH would have one if not two on a week long sailing. Patty
  18. I have... Beyond Aug 2023 Apex Feb 2024 Solstice July 2024 Reflection Feb 2025 I am planning to book our sailing Feb 2026 while sailing Apex. (pending our onboard experience) Yes I always plan far in advance and always find price drops. Just be willing to re-navigate/adjust if need be. Life Throws Curve Balls as we all know. Patty
  19. I wasn't trying to come across rude. That's why I said Only Speaking For Myself and that I'm in the never again camp. Like you, lets all do what makes us happy! It's travel which is a splurge no matter the budget. I have friends who love Carnival and NCL and they are not fans of Cel. No rules and no one is right, just different takes on vacay styles. Patty
  20. Agree... And this is why I will never sail them again. I'm not a prude and I totally enjoy a night out with a few adult bevi's but Carnival is NOT my VIBE! Patty
  21. Only speaking for myself: I'm in the "Never Again Camp" One and Done! Patty
