  1. I've been reading about ships that use a Key-card-activated electricity system in their cabins, and that unless there's a key-card in the slot by the door, you can't charge any electronics while you're out of the room. Does anyone know if this is true of the NCL Escape?
  2. We are booked on the NCL Escape for a 7-DAY CARIBBEAN ROUND-TRIP ORLANDO: GREAT STIRRUP CAY & DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, and none of the excursions are fit for someone using a motorized wheelchair. So I'm thinking we might need to book through a private tour company. Anyone have experience with this at these ports? And also what to do at Great Stirrup Cay?
  3. But how well does the messaging work on the NCL app?
  4. So this could be Dominican Republic, St. Thomas, Tortola or the NCL private Island (doesn't have to be an NCL excursion, can be private).
  5. But how well does the messaging work on the NCL app?
  6. I'm not sure how to find a forum for the cruise ship other than the Roll Call. We're sailing on the NCL Escape.
  7. We have $100 onboard credit, and I'm wondering what it can be used for other than the obvious -- shopping.
  8. Hallux - I don't understand what you mean by "cover charge before a-la-carte".
  9. Our Personal Cruise Consultant is also a Group Specialist, as we are part of a group. I have had to call a couple of times and leave messages. I'm lucky if she gets back to me in several days. This is not the type of customer service I expect and its disappointing.

  11. I just had a conversation with Deanna at the Trip Insurance Store about a cruise we have coming up in November. I had done the online comparison but with the right questions she helped narrow it down to the right plan for us. Our biggest concern was also for the medical coverage. We're in our 70's and 80's.
  12. My husband uses the Drive Nitro as well, but we're hoping to get the Upwalker for the reason Carole2313 menioned - it allows you to stand erect. My husband is tall and doesn't always use the best posture with his rollator. But he loves being able to stop and sit when he tires out. He also has a foldable power wheelchair that we may take on our next cruise.
  13. Dobiemom - When you got yours transferred to a LUV voucher, did it cost you $100?
  14. Oh wow, I have a Chase Freedom card and just checked the benefits and we are covered as well. Yippee!
  15. What an absolutely horrific story! Thank you for sharing it with us. I wonder what other countries are cash-based?
  16. JSN55 - Which credit card do you have that gives you full coverage? I have until July 22nd to make final payment so if I have to get another card (I only have 3 so getting another one is not a problem), I will.
  17. Jersey42 - What value does the Chase credit card add?
  18. Thanks for these responses. I thought I have searched pretty well for a specific forum and didn't find one on travel insurance. That is why I posted here. I will check that one out. And thanks, klfrodo, for your information about how travel insurance works. I will reach out to Steve at www.tripinsurancestore.com and see what he can tell me.
  19. As a 71 year old woman, I would welcome a 70+ category.
  20. My husband and I are booked in a mini suite on the NCL Escape on November 19-26 out of Port Canaveral. My husband is 81 and I am 71. My husband has had some health challenges in recent years and we feel it is necessary to get a rock solid travel insurance policy. Never having done this before, we would like some recommendations about where/from whom to purchase a policy. Are there companies that are more reputable than others? Or should we just purchase one of the travel insurance offered by NCL? With all the problems with flight cancellations and Covid, etc., not to mention if my husband or I have a medical issue either while we're traveling, or prior to travel, I want to be sure we're covered for every eventuality. I would love to hear from others who have experience in this area.
  21. I'll check into doing it this way. It makes the most sense to go straight from the hotel to the port. Thanks!
  22. Our hotel offers a free shuttle back to the airport, but my question is where at the airport do we catch the shuttle to the cruise port?
  23. Our cruise out of Port Canaveral leaves on Saturday November 19 at 4pm, and we are flying in the day before and staying at an airport area hotel. We haven't booked a shuttle yet. Does it matter which one we book? Is it important to book the shuttle through NCL? I've seen other shuttles that are cheaper that the $75 round trip that NCL charges. And where do we meet the shuttle busses?
