  1. That’s because they were in quarantine. My husband was one of those and spent 6 days in quarantine before testing negative and being released. I was deemed a close contact and was tested every two days until 48 hours after his negative test. On days medical center didn’t test, I did self test … so nine negative tests in all. We were very careful … wore masks on embarkation and in transit day in Ft Lauderdale, ate in Club Orange (smaller dining venue ), no pool areas, avoided elevators and no large bus tours. Triple boosted. Still got Covid … and there were others. We knew and accepted the risks of travel these days
  2. I did talk to Guest Services on the first day of quarantine about a separate cabin to sleep in. There is an isolation area on the ship where my husband could have been moved to but I would not have been able to see him at all for the quarantine period. We elected not to do that as we figured I had already been exposed and we have a nice balcony that has been a great place for my husband to spend time. Not sure what the isolation cabin would have been!
  3. I have never been under quarantine even though in same cabin with husband. As a precaution for others, I do mask when in public indoor areas and have been severely limiting activities. Yes I will be very happy to get the final test done and hopefully negative
  4. Who really knows? My guess is the gym as that is one place my husband went that I did not. We did do a shore excursion that involved a van ride but we wore masks. But it could have been anywhere. You just don’t know.
  5. So my husband tested negative this morning on day 7 and quarantine has been lifted. I also tested negative but have to do one final test in 48 hours as I am a “close contact “. I am so tired of having this hanging over us but c’est la vie.
  6. Rotterdam retreat cabana. There is a hot tub for retreat guests
  7. Just to clarify … if you are confirmed Covid positive no further testing until day 6. From day 6 to 10, daily test until you test negative at which point you are cleared. You are automatically cleared at day 10 regardless of test outcome.
  8. I was able to add CO directly through HAL but my TA had to do the room upgrade. I had to educate TA on CO
  9. And just to add … we are triple boosted and had Covid last May after a trip to Paris. There are no certainties ..,
  10. We also make sure we have masks on when meals are delivered to our room
  11. No I am free to go wherever including dining room and off at ports. I do not want to take the chance of possibly exposing other passengers so I spend my days outside in the sun away from others. I take a long walk on the promenade deck at night. We order all meals from in room dining and eat on our balcony, we leave our balcony door open for fresh air and if I do go somewhere on ship, I wear a mask. I am tested by medical service every two days and I self test in between. I have heard that others in a similar situation are not taking any precautions and one in particular is going unmasked to the dining room to eat at a table with others.
  12. We are cu We are currently on the Rotterdam 22 days 1/14-2/4. My husband came down with COVID the night of 1/25.The six day test this morning was positive. He will be day 10 on disembarkation day at which point he is cleared. our understating from Guest Services if you are COVID positive on disembarkation day, you will be escorted off ship in an isolated disembarkation process. if you call during dining room hours, you can order whatever you want fro m the menu for the day.
  13. We have done a cabana on two past cruises and have one for an upcoming January cruise. We get a cabana for the "retreat" aspect. The area has always been peaceful and quiet ... no kids running around and no one blasting music or partying loudly. I would be beyond angry if this situation occurred.
  14. We are on the Rotterdam sailing 1/14-2/4. The itinerary for the 1/14-25 segment has been completely changed. I have been trying to rebook HIA included shore excursions but no excursions are shown for most of the ports. Have talked to Shore Excursions department and keep getting a reply that booked excursions will be moved to the revised date but so far that has not occurred. Our shore excursion at St. Thomas was cancelled by HAL .. I am assuming because arrival time was changed or ?
  15. We are on the Rotterdam Jan 14 - Feb 5. I am bringing my Mahjongg card with the hope of playing so there will be at least two of us ... now to find a couple more fellow players!
  16. We have booked 5050 on the Rotterdam for an upcoming winter cruise. This is one of the "sideways" layout rooms. Recently I have read that 5050 and 5053 may have only the balcony door (single) and no other window in the room. Has anyone stayed in one of these rooms? I would appreciate any feedback.
