  1. I'm pretty sure the youngest Captain is Tasos, who is currently on Constellation, and single.

Of course, I could be wrong.

    Happy Sailing,

    Is Tasos cute?

I had dinner at the captain's table with Tasos and we discussed an increasing problem ,being looked upon as sex objects by so many women. We both want you to want us for our minds.

  2. I don't have menus in front of me, but honestly I do not remember being overwhelmed with only mashed potato offerings.

The only time I was ever overwhelmed with mashed potatoes was on a potato tasting vacation in Idaho. There were mashed potatoes to the left of me,mashed potatoes to the right of me,in front and in back...finally a mashed potato tsunami swept over us and we had to be rescued by a group of St Bernard dogs staying at a nearby resort for a dog show.

  3. Problem with a larger group is that you only get a little taste of each food that you must share, or even less as in a polite crown ,no one takes the last piece of anything.

When you go with two, they will not limit the number of your choices and you can enjoy what you like and spit out the rest ;)

You can also go back and try new thinks if you like.

  4. If you put in $200 and get back $150 ,it lists $ 150 winnings...ridiculous...they would never print cruisers losses or the house profit...which is always the case.

All the number represents to me is a measure of how much is played.

All the tightness means is fewer dollars are returned as a percentage of money put in.

Another thing that irks me is that the 'Progressive" jackpots are reset every cruise Pennies are added for each dollar put in and unlike normal casinos on land they don't accumulate .

  5. This looks like it would be fun and interesting, but there are just two of us, and everything I read says to go in a large group. Is it worth it to book for just two?

Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

It's fine with two. Don't let the large groups bully you into thinking they're better. ;)

  6. I loved the Bangers & Mash in the Golden Lion on Cunard, but I see your point. I'm sure you can get a substitute. It's not like you're ordering "off menu" Ask for another veg. such as carrots, peas, corn. Sometimes they can't do it the first night, but once they know your preferences, it should be easy for them to accomodate you. Another thing to try, is a sorbet "intermezzo" between the app. & your main dinner. Nicely refreshing.

Thew intermezzos are great, particularly on formal nights, but I find Champagne does the job for me quite well.

  7. We just received luggage tags for an upcoming B2B cruise we are doing with my sister and her husband. The tags are all the same color but theirs have a red border that says "Captains Club" while ours do not. Our reservations are linked. They have been on 1 previous 12 nt Celebrity cruise. We were on that 1 with them and did 1 additional 7 nt. We have our captains club numbers on our reservation. Our staterooms are both basic ocean view just 2 doors apart.

    So my questions are:

    1. What exactly is the purpose of this designation in regard to luggage handling?

    2. Why would they have it and we do not?

    3. Is there any reason whatsoever to even think about it any further?

I don't think it makes any difference...It's just to make CC people feel special. It's not like you'll get your bags sooner or theirs will be tossed into the sea.

  8. I will have my children with me, both girls age 17 and 14. I also hope I am not sacrificing their enjoyment with my turn to a more upscale cruise, but honestly on my last Carnival cruise I felt at several points that they were being exposed to a level of non sobriety I was not comfortable with.

I will let you know of my next Celebrity cruise so a a courtesy you can avoid it for the same reason. ;)

  9. We are taking our family of 6 on an Alaska Solstice cruise.

The cabins we reserved are two adjacent cabins on the hump with the outer connecting doors, but I'm not sure how the keying works for the outer door arrangement.

We desire that all the room keys we receive will be configured to open the doors for both cabins so that family members can easily come and go (regardless of which cabin the individuals are assigned to). Will Celebrity accommodate that?

Maybe, maybe not unless you are super maximus double Zenith triple star plus.

Just ask guest relations when on board..

  10. French Fries,or as you might call them fries or chips are always available as are other options if you request them ahead of time from your maitre d'

You can even get them raw for a refreshing change.

  11. Some people have expressed concerns with aft cabins just under the Oceanview Bar. People hanging over the back of the ship can look down and it may affect your sense of privacy if you were sitting out there.

Yes but it's SO easy to hop the rail and get back to your cabin after you've had a few at the bar. No need to walk all the way up to the elevators then back down the hall.

  12. On the Solstice class ships many of the tables for two are arranged in rows just a few inches apart. And because the tables are small you are closer to your neighbors than on a large round table, though you are technically at a table for two.

There are a few scattered about that are better.
