  1. Yeah, I realized that a few minutes ago, maybe I have covid brain fog😂😂 Sherri🙂
  2. Lois, your trip should be amazing! The fall colors were pretty on ours, especially up around Quebec, but should be spectacular for you! What’s your itinerary? Sherri🙂
  3. Thanks, Melody, the home tests are known for giving a lot of false negatives and, since they are antigen, not very good at picking up the newer variants. I am just going to piggyback on to my husband’s results!😂 Sherri🙂
  4. We have over 60 cruises on Royal and 12 on Celebrity. There are things I love about each line, so we started switching back and forth on them prior to the pandemic. back and forth between them. I think as far as food and service they are are very similar but I do think Celebrity offers more choices in the buffet and MDR. But, I prefer the specialty restaurants on Royal over those on Celebrity. I think Celebrity offers better choices for wine. I also love on Celebrity not having to checkout pool towels and return or exchange them! IMO, Celebrity ships are more elegant and relaxed, Royal ships are more energetic and fun!😂 Sherri🙂
  5. Kat, the pictures are amazing! So, I have had my husband’s symptoms since Wednesday morning, only not quite as bad. Last night was the worse, bad HA, muscle aches, UR congestion. I have taken 2 tests now, both negative, but I am going to assume that I am positive. Feeling better this morning, husband is almost back to normal. While we have had minimal symptoms compared to others, covid is nothing to take lightly. Mr. T, I think a lot of positive energy is coming to you from the states. I am hoping for a great outcome for you! Sherri🙂
  6. That seems rather rude to throw one’s napkin down and stalk out. And I can’t imagine complaining to staff about others dress, I really don’t care. Sherri🙂
  7. I noticed but doesn’t bother me. My opinion is people can wear what they want unless the crew tells them no. It was a great cruise, only negative is my husband came home sick with covid but he is doing well today. Sherri🙂
  8. Funny, there were quite a few men wearing shorts, t shirts and baseball caps in the MDR each night on our Summit cruise that ended Monday. No one seemed to care. Sherri🙂
  9. We are D+ on Royal and started sailing on Celebrity a few years ago. We really liked it and now go back and forth between the two cruise lines. I do think Royal has better perks, ie drink vouchers to be used anytime at any bar, a free picture each, D lounge for continental breakfast, etc. but Celebrity is just a more elegant experience. It is very nice not to have to check out and return pool towels and I like having the wine stewards in the MDR. I also think you get more choices in the MDR and buffet. We called Celebrity prior to our first cruise, they linked our Royal status to Captain’s Club Elite status and gave us our CC numbers. Very easy. Sherri🙂
  10. Thanks, Sharon, I think he is doing well with it, as I said, it is just a bad cold . He was actually feeling a little better last night after he ate his ice cream!😂 And yes, II am happy that he started feeling symptoms on the last day, there were quite a few people confined to their cabins during this cruise. I am so envious that your granddaughter is coming to visit, 18 months is such a great age! Tiring but so much fun! I hope you did some napping in preparation! Have fun! Sherri🙂
  11. He just has upper respiratory congestion and a cough at times. No fever or HA. He has always been someone who thinks he is dying when he gets a cold🙄 and likes to be a big baby. I went to the grocery store and he wanted chicken noodle soup, crackers and ice cream.😂 Kitchen Reno has made some progress, I would say we are about 3/4 of the way done. It was nice to walk in the front door last night and see the changes. Great news for you, Lois! Sherri🙂
  12. I think you are right, Melody. And I hope this works out in your favor, Lois! So my husband woke up with a HA Sunday morning that I was hoping was one too many martinis, took some Ibuprofen, HA went away. By Sunday lateevening he appeared to be coming down with a “cold” and was feeling worse by the time we got home last night. He did a home test this morning and he is positive. I did a test, too and I am negative. This does not surprise me with all the coughing we heard on the ship and in the airports coming home. Otherwise, very fun and uneventful trip! Sherri🙂
  13. Wow, that is certainly crazy! I would want a hard copy, too and would not be in any hurry to pay it! We are currently sitting in the Boston airport waiting for our first flight. We won’t get to our condo until around midnight. Long day! Sherri🙂
  14. I like sailing on a cruise ship and if I have to wear a mask, I will. I didn’t feel stuck having to wear one and it did not ruin my cruise. We had a great time! Sherri🙂
  15. It’s no big deal for me or my husband to wear a mask and I am pleasantly surprised by the apparent compliance to do so from my fellow passengers. Sherri🙂
  16. Petrillos closed before the pandemic and the building is still empty. We have not tried Napoli. Sherri🙂
  17. I don’t think there was much, mostly limbs and trees down in the neighborhoods. Some flooding on the river side. Will find out more when we get home tomorrow night! Sherri🙂
  18. Agree with you! That was the really hard part of moving to FL, I finally have a hair stylist and dentist that I like but not to sure about the doctor!😂 Sherri🙂
  19. Last day of cruise, a sea day but kind of cool and dreary. Captain made an announcement Friday afternoon in which he said we had exceeded the threshold number of positive covid cases; therefore, it is now mandatory for all to wear masks whenever in an indoor area. Surprisingly, the majority of passengers are complying. Lots of people coughing where ever you go on the ship. The couple in the cabin next to us have been quarantined in their cabin since day 3 due to positive tests. We can hear them outside on their balcony coughing, they both have nasty sounding coughs. I feel very bad for them as they flew to Boston from Scotland for this cruise. My husband woke up with a HA today but I think he just spent too much time in the martini bar last night!😂 Sherri🙂
  20. We are currently on Summit, our Captain made the same announcement yesterday afternoon only we were told masks are mandatory anytime indoors unless seated and eating/drinking. Majority of passengers now wearing masks. Sherri🙂
  21. The fundraiser sounds like a lot of fun! We went to an annual fundraiser for the Damien Center in Indianapolis, The Grand Masquerade, which sounds very similar to your upcoming one. Lots of glitter and drag queens!😂 I miss it! Sherri🙂
  22. That does not surprise me to hear the river flooded, it floods easily. I think our area of. Brevard, Satellite Beach, just had some fairly mild wind damage and some power outages. Nothing like the west coast experienced. I hope your family in South Carolina get through this without any major damage. Sherri🙂
  23. This has been an amazingly smooth cruise, hard to believe Fiona followed us up here and Ian had caused so much devastation in FL, the pictures I have seen online are just sad. It will take years for Sanibel Island and Naples to recover. I hope Charleston does not get hit as hard as forecasters are predicting. Maybe Ian will change course again and go out to sea. Have not heard of any major damage in our area. Our condo has a generator that will provide limited electricity to each unit, so freezer should be ok. Hopefully, the new straps we put on the air conditioner a few months ago worked and the unit did not get blown off the roof!😂 Hope everyone is well and safe! Sherri🙂
