  1. I too have done this - Hong Kong was the port. However is was several years ago in pre-Covid times. My TA cleared it with Celebrity before I booked flights.
  2. 2023 has been a spectacular year for the NL in UK with visibility as far south as the CI.. However it is rare. Best season is normally after the clocks go back end of October and I think Celebrity repositions away from UK then. A link to the CI sightings: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-jersey-65374996
  3. Don's family vacations , a YT vlogger. has a very inaccurate account of one family's experience. However more bad publicity for Celebrity.
  4. Yes that was my understanding too. JMO Celebrity have no liability. Caveat Emptor.
  5. I thought purchasing Air through Celebrity afforded the customer the opportunity to defer payment of air until FP and in the event of cancellation, there would be no liability on the part of the customer??
  6. Thanks. I suspect she kept repeating because upper management had not written a script??
  7. Thank you but what about the cruisers who PAYG for their alcohol??
  8. I thought the 15 a day limit only applied to alcoholic beverages on HAL's Signature Package not the Elite Package ??
  9. The NCL Star story now on YouTube. Cruisemummy is the stated source.
  10. Good Morning Not good but I am unsurprised especially with ref to TA. I recall your earlier post. I think I may have deduced the TA you used. Persistence is the key and under UK regs, they must refund your money within 2 weeks. Contact Trading Standards if necessary. Good Luck
  11. Celebrity did not ask for volunteers. The family have not updated us.
  12. I will cite one example. A family booking of 2 cabins on my cruise date. Different cabin grades but both cabins belonged in the overbooked category. One cabin only was cancelled.
  13. Also Celebrity created the problem?? 1st May 2023 is the deadline - may I ask which timezone?? and it is reported that some cruisers only received their notifications in the last 24 hoiurs.
  14. Did you ever receive a reply from the Celebrity rep in Belgium ? I appreciate it is a Bank Holiday in most of Europe today and all offices may not be open.
  15. Possibly for USA cruisers but I doubt that very much in the RoW.
  16. Sorry to hear that. Maybe of interest, but MSC have just announced they will be sailing year round out of Japan. Between Jan and Mar, the Bellissima will homeport in Naha.
  17. On my Oct 24 roll call, some 'low margin bookings' were confirmed only in April just before the 'culling' - they had previously been waitlisted. Go figure as they say. Which cabin grade I don't know. Occasionally I have had the thought, that X selected cabin numbers by lottery, I have no evidence that I have been culled but thinking of cancelling and offering my cabin to a multi-generational family impacted but that would cost me my non-refundable deposit (SOP in UK).
  18. I don't mind people being 'short' - I can come across like that myself. I do mind other posters who do not want to search the posts themselves even though they say they are curious. Anyway I am out,
  19. Well I have read on this thread from more than 1 pink slip victim comments they have received from Celebrity agents that the Oct 2024 L&S cruises are no longer available. I was not party to the conversations. Maybe the cruisers who were will wish to unmask themselves but I will not. If you read the thread carefully you will discover who they are. Silly me, I believe them and on that note I am out.
  20. The goalposts are shifting all the time ........... One 'pink slip' party tried to L&S from Oct 23 to Oct 24 but that was overbooked. They are now booked on a Sep 24 cruise which was not on any list. I suspect Celebrity may have to expand the number of L&S cruises as there could be a supply issue................
  21. Sorry my convoluted brain. Has anyone read an update from any of those cruisers who were, IIRC, had B2B2B cruises booked and Celebrity cancelled their 2nd leg?? This really isn't rocket science.......................
  22. Yes! We are witnessing a cruise line whose senior management team may be on 'gardening leave' ?? - JMO. May 1st there will be a new broom.
  23. JMO their short term goal is to maximise income.
  24. I know of one poster who had originally a 2023 booking. They phoned Celebrity to transfer to Oct 2024 cruise and were advised that the cruise was sold out. Cruises were made available but what we have not read how is many cabins were impacted in total and how many cabins were made available on the L&S dates. I have my suspicions............
