Thanks. If only I have been made the offer 😉 I have no complaints. On board purchases will improve my cash flow; pre-board purchases will benefit Azamara cash flow. As a solo passenger, at least I am not charged the solo penalty for buying drinks packages as Celebrity now does on some of their sailings. I know I am easily pleased 😉

Thank you. Got it. I am a returning Azamara passenger, from years ago, and very surprised that I do qualify for any discount. Some cruiselines reset your loyalty level if you have not cruised with them for 3 years so I think Azamara is generous in that respect.

Thanks - no senior moment 🙂 So your loyalty discount gives you a 20% discount of the upgraded price but a newbie to obtain the discounted price has to buy a package which is a flat rate irrespective of length of cruise?? or are they just discounting the upgraded package to increase sales?? Is that correct ?? PS I do think it is odd the onboard Experience More package prices are a flat rate irrespective of voyage length (apart from those less than 8 days??) - I think Azamara are missing a trick there.

However if I understand correctly, a newbie has to purchase a package to obtain the discount but you don't?? You save $1600 by not purchasing the package and the complaint is ?? Sorry if I am having a senior moment. Annie

Contrarian that I am, I would look forward to Drake Lake as I only experienced a calm Cape Horn - so disappointing. NYC is not the best comparator perhaps?? I was thinking along the lines of Grand Canyon. You can enjoy a helicopter ride across the GC and /or hike in GC. Both different but enjoyable experiences. I would not dismiss either, Or perhaps the Great Barrier Reef?? You can fly across GBR or snorkel?? Again very different but enjoyable experiences. Thank you - you have given me food for thought. Thank you. I had already discounted NCL but TBH I am surprised they are spending so few days there. The wildlife interests me less than the scenery. I have a library of footage of whales and penguins from previous trips to the southern hemisphere. I am conflicted about visiting the region because of the impact of global warming but I DO want to see it before it is possibly too late.

Is the number of days spent 'driving by' material ? NCL has 1 cruise with 1 or 2 days 'drive by' whereas HAL et al normally allow 4 days. JMO it is a very long distance to travel for 1 or days 'drive by'?? or am I missing something. Mobility issues preclude me from doing zodiac excursions. Thanks in advance.

Stayed in 3400 on Zaandam and have no recollection of any noise from deck 4. Well if there was, it did not wake me.

They shouldn't be but I know of possibly 10 cruises they were booked twice and no-one is sales dept noticed. Some of the customers bumped were in guarantee cabins but not all and had booked very expensive air with little recompense.

Alas this is not the first example of people being displaced from a cruise. There was a very long running thread on a number of Japanese cruises which were overbooked for part of 23 and 24. Very few offers were made. Your cruise was cancelled. When Celebrity repeat a similar error within a short time period, you do wonder.

The variations within the British Isles for a cooked breakfast are endless. Irish breakfast would substitute soda bread for lava bread. A 'full English' breakfast is such a dated concept. We have vegetarians, vegans and pescaterians within our extensive family. I can't eat a cooked breakfast because I am egg intolerant. I wonder if the MDR caters for Asian breakfasts ??

Of course we don't ! We call it a cooked breakfast. Heathen that I am, I favour a Dutch or German continental breakfast. BTW it is the pronounciation of the word scone that invokes most debate.

Ach no. The quality of the ingredients. English sausage varies from the Scottish Lorne or even black eye sausage. When we purchase sausages from a butcher in Scotland, you are asked round or square 😉 I prefer a breakfast roll - my favourite a black pudding/tattie scone doubler ! A good order to place in MDR is beans on toast - most haven't a clue.

The Scottish variation will substitute tattie scone for fried bread. Don't knock black pudding until you at least try it. I am very fussy about BP - it has to be Stornoway BP and not one of our English poor cousins. Don't forget the Haggis! Back to OP - there are so many regional variations, I would not expect a MDR to serve it. Heck I don't trust the quality of Full English in England.

Hi Just asking did you book direct or use a TA?? If the latter, I would ask your TA to field the question with Celebrity. If the former, I would submit the question in writing to Celebrity. I also recall when my cruise ended in Hong Kong, once the ship was cleared, there were at least 100 pax lined up with their luggage boarding taxis. Good Luck

I too have done this - Hong Kong was the port. However is was several years ago in pre-Covid times. My TA cleared it with Celebrity before I booked flights.

2023 has been a spectacular year for the NL in UK with visibility as far south as the CI.. However it is rare.
