  1. I am having knee replacement surgery on January 9th, and we have a planned cruise on March 27th. It will be 11 weeks after my surgery. I am being to have second thoughts about doing this. Has anyone cruised after having a total knee replacement? I am 63 and in good health. We are not planning on a lot of excursions, just trying to get out of the snow. What do you think? Am I crazy? Kaye
  2. Thanks for the picture and info. Might try The Leaning Tower since I love tiramisu. But one during the week is more than enough.
  3. Thanks everyone for all the replies. I think I will get a plain hot fudge sundry instead. 😀
  4. thanks for the good idea. I did go to You Tube and saw the huge shake thing. I can't see anyone eating two of them a day. But they did look fun. I might try one during the week!
  5. Hi Everyone, Does anyone have pictures of the premium desserts offer with the Plus package? How many different desserts do they offer with the Plus? I think there is a special shake but other than that, I don't have any idea what to except. Thanks, Kaye
  6. It has been a while since we notified Princess. I think I just called them and asked to speak to someone that can help with disabilities. I can't remember for sure. But this is an email you could try. accessofficeprincess@princesscruises.com If they can't offer assistance, they should be able to direct you to the right person. kaye.
  7. Thank you for your post. We can relate to your situation. We too have an autistic adult son. He has done 9 cruises with us. He loves cruising and does a great job. But with his autism we never know how he will react or what will be too much stimulation for him. We have been very happy with Princess. All of the crew have always been kind and helpful. Since we know the brand and DS is familiar with Princess, we stay with the Princess line. Thanks again for your informative review, and here's to many happy years of cruising for your family! Kaye
  8. We also watch from our balcony, the ship being loaded with suitcases, food and pallets. It entertains us too. 🙂 I don't know why but we think its interesting. Love the first day of the cruise. It's just exciting!
  9. We ate very early, usually 5:00 to 5:30. We couldn't get reservations, ahead of time, so we were there early in the evening. Hope you enjoy the rest of the cruise.
  10. First of all, I am not a writer or storyteller but since I always enjoy other reviews, I thought I would give it a try. This is our first cruise since covid. We were supposed to go last year, but I got covid two days before the cruise. (Actually, it was a long story and big mess.) I was very nervous that something was going to go wrong before we left. I checked our passports, plane tickets, weather conditions, etc. at least a dozen times. I drove my husband crazy. But everything went fine and embarkment was a breeze. Embarkment was easy and fast. Our room was ready, so we dropped off our carry-on luggage. We decided on the buffet for our lunch. The buffet wasn’t too crowded, and the food was good. I was so happy to be on the ship that I didn’t care what I ate. Before we ate, I ran up to the Sanctuary to reserve a lounger but I was too late. While I was in line just four people back, they said they were sold out. My mistake that I took the time to drop off the luggage and went to the buffet to get my husband and son a table while they got their food. Learn from my mistake. Do not stop for any reason, go straight to the sanctuary!! The Enchanted is a beautiful ship. Super pretty and clean. We had a deluxe balcony and we loved it. Our room steward was wonderful. He came twice a day. The room was always clean and tidy. We couldn’t ask for anything more. (well, maybe chocolates on my pillow 😊) The internet was fine. We didn’t use it much just to check emails. The medallion was worked good for us. I like being able to locate where my husband was without walking the whole ship. We did order drinks with the medallion app. It worked most of the time. We had two times it said drinks had been delivered when we never received them. We had the plus drink package that was gifted to us from the PVP. Since we are not drinkers, we would not have purchased the package ourselves. But we did enjoy nice coffee latte in the mornings and pop around the pool. We ate in both the buffet and main dining room. We found the food very good. The dining room menu was different from our last cruises. We prefer the older menu. All the deserts were very good. We really enjoyed the international café, especially for breakfast. We always found something we liked. I loved the tiramisu. Sorry I didn’t take pictures. The entertainment was fantastic. Just super! We really enjoyed the production shows. I think they were the best production show we have ever seen. They were new shows, Rock opera, 5 something and Spotlight Bar. The singers and dancers were so good. Really, really enjoyed it. The only negative thing about this cruise, was the lack of steps going into a pool. We really missed having a pool that you could walk into. All the pools only have ladders to get into the pool itself. I certainly don’t expect all the pools to have walk in steps but at least one pool should have them. It was a real miss from Princess. We also noticed how friendly and kind the fellow passengers were. We met some wonderful people and enjoyed talking to people from all over the world. The Enchanted Princess is a beautiful ship with a great crew. Anyone who cruises on her will have a great time. kaye
  11. We cruise with our adult son that has cerebral palsy. Like your husband, he can walk with assistance but has balance issues. And tires easily. We also thought about a mini suite for the tub (he prefers baths) but realized he wouldn't get out very easily. We get a deluxe balcony. It just has a regular shower but with the small sofa it adds more room to the cabin. We had an accessible suite cabin once and didn't like it. The bathroom floor got so wet and seemed to be too slippery. Maybe it was just didn't fit our needs but will be ok for you. We also order a wheelchair from www.specialneedsatsea.com.They also have walkers. They will deliver to your cabin and pick up item in your cabin. We only use the wheelchair when we are walking in port or when he gets too tired. Hope you find a cabin that suits your needs. Enjoy your cruise. Kaye
  12. I have never ordered food with the app before; can I order drinks and food in the sanctuary? I have the drink plus package. Do I tip them when they deliver the drinks or food to me every time? I don't want to be a scrouge, but a $5 tip on every drink gets to be pricey. Thanks, Kaye
  13. Does the Plus package include milkshakes? thanks Kaye
  14. How much is taxi fare from cruise port to Magens Bay? Is it easy to get a taxi both ways? second question, can we rent a beach chair or lounger? If so what is the cost? Thanks Kaye
  15. thanks for the replies. I guess I will just be patient. If they don't come, I know I can get them at the port.
  16. We have a cruise the first part of February. When should we expect the medallions to be delivered? I feel like we should get them by now but maybe I am jumping the gun a little. thanks, Kaye
  17. So sorry for your loss. Deepest sympathy to you and your family. Kaye
  18. Thanks for your replies. We decided to make the reservations. It looked clean and newer. Does this hotel have a complementary shuttle from airport? thanks
  19. I think AC Hotel Fort Lauderdale Airport is a newer hotel, but I am not sure. Has anyone stayed there? What's your thoughts on this hotel? Thanks Kaye
  20. emailed ours in a week ago for a February 2023 cruise, received it by the next afternoon. Very fast and easy.
  21. Thanks for your reply. Our son is an adult. He has cerebral palsy and autism. He can walk but not distances. My husband and I has been to OSJ years ago. We were hoping for a new way to visit around OSJ, maybe a golf carts or trolleys. We might just need to rent a wheelchair. Thangs again.
  22. We are cruising this Feb. and would like to explore Old San Juan. But our son can't walk very far. Is there some trolleys or golf cart available? Or any other options or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks,
