Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I was eyeing a pair of Alexander McQueen Armadillo shoes which Lady Gaga fancies and look like lobster claws... Call me practical
  2. If the Crab House does not work out (and it wouldn't be my first choice), and you want to stick with seafood, try Avra Estiatorio or Sea Fire Grill.
  3. Thank you for the recommendation. Always interested in exploring a new neighborhood. No shoes for me...only lobster.
  4. I hope you do find some time for your quick fix. I know some people have a tendency to separate downstate and upstate, but I am not one of those elites. 😉
  5. Yes...more sarcasm and grumpiness...please! Reading your reviews is like wrapping myself in a warm blanket in front of a cozy fireplace with a cup of thick, rich, hot chocolate after a fun-filled day of skiing. I will be sailing across the Atlantic on the Prima during your two weeks on the Jewel, but I will be looking forward to ending my evenings onboard with your daily musings.
  6. Thank you @natefish95 for sharing your journey on the Jewel as well as those fun days in Japan pre-cruise. I particularly appreciated the food pics. Hope to take this transpacific itinerary soon. I agree that the Sealife Center is a great place to visit in Seward. I took the free shuttle from the port and the driver also recommended lunch at the Highlander. While at the Sealife Center, I spent about an hour just staring at the puffins. Am sure they were creeped out by me. Any idea where you might want to explore next?
  7. So sorry this threw a wrench in your day. I received an alert earlier that there was a track fire near the Avenue H Station, shutting down the B and Q lines. Feel free to reach out tomorrow if you have more transit issues. However, if you are sticking around Manhattan, there is always a way to get from A to B.
  8. On the Encore in January, one of my male traveling companions wore a Nehru collared shirt to Le Bistro. The hostess needed to check with the manager first before seating us. At least this time, a Nehru collar was acceptable. 😁
  9. So far I have only packed my first aid kit. So yes, I might need to borrow many things from your bag of tricks. Agree, all along I have mentioned it is best to pack multiple thin layers and a good waterproof and windproof shell. Water resistant pants are also recommended. Add a scarf (or a neck gaiter for me), hat and gloves, and I am ready for temperatures above freezing. No parkas or puffy coats for me. I try to avoid the marshmallow look.
  10. Mayor Adams cleared out the vendors on the Brooklyn Bridge back in January, knowing your pending arrival. Unfortunately, he was unable to shoo away the pesky tourists today. Glad you are enjoying the NYC sights and sounds and smells.
