  1. How about a sandwich without bread? Gluten intolerant and I get the same responses to my needs. Can't do breads, rolls, cakes, pies, desserts, anything with wheat flour or breading, etc. Either go hungry, or eat it and get sick. Sorry 'bout that. BTW we do care about you and yor needs. Did you know that 10% of the population is gluten intolerant? That's significant but cruise lines don't seem to know that.
  2. Exotic. And she knows it! If you've got it, ...flaunt it!
  3. Buffet: You don't. You just hope that they are marked GF or wait til someone comes along and ask (then hope they know what you are talking about and give you an honest answer). MDR: Talk to the maitre D and prearrange GF meals. Good workable system, or see readily marked GF items on the menus. High tea: You can ask, but then you may never see the server again. Lucky you if he comes back with something within 30 minutes. Tea time is very problematic. Thus, my question.
  4. One Army retired and one Navy veteran here. Princess and Cunard are both under the Carnival umbrella. Both will give you each OBC with verifcation with DD214 each. Don't confuse Carnival 'corporation' with Carnival 'cruise ships'. They are all in the same family but the children can be very different. We're seniors too but we are way beyond doing another Carnival cruise because we're too old 'to have fun' on one of those ships. Be aware that you will not get the same benefit on a Carnival 'fun ship' that you get on Princess and Cunard although both are under the Carnival corporation umbrella. If you take a 14 day+ cruise on Princess or Cunard, you should receive $250 EACH, obc. Now if you own 100 Carnival Corporation shares (about $9.80/share now) you also get $250 OBC as a shareholder benefit. On a 14 day cruise with two military and one shareholder you should get a total of $750 obc plus anything else your travel agent may throw in. Verification of stock ownership is necessary for each new cruise You must apply for the OBC with each new cruise and submit a litle paperwork but it is well worth it! Shorter cruises offer a smaller benefit, but still worth it! Also, this is usually IN ADDITION TO any other cruise offers you may get with special promotions or offers. I find it amazing that there are so many who do not know about these benefits. They aren't advertised or promoted. Come on. Get on board. And if our paths should cross, you can buy me a drink!
  5. I'm wondering what gluten free options are available on the QM2 at high tea. Secondarily, how does one request the gluten free options (if available)?
  6. Mexican Coke in a glass bottle! The only real Coke as it was made when I was growing up. No chemicals, zeros, diets, etc. It's the real thing and tastes great.
  7. Not really necessary. I use denture tablets. That sugar won't hurt plastic! 😉
  8. I prefer tap water. It's much less expensive and doesn't come in a plastic bottle that is hazardous to your health.
  9. Try Celebrity. You still get the benefits for Diamond and I think it's a step up.
  10. Certainly. And MAYBE they will adequate staff.
  11. And do you still believe in Santa and the Tooth Fairy, etc.? I do believe you really ARE dreaming.
  12. Likewise. Going back to Celebrity. Princess has burned their bridges. Enough is enough.
  13. I thought it was made from dissolved cow hooves.
  14. I think they chop it up, dehaydrate it and sell it as "Bac-O-Bits". There is also an alternative version: They chop up leftover cardboard packaging, pour rancid bacon grease over it, dehydrate that and sell it as bacon bits.
  15. Favorite dessert ...durian! Never see it. I wonder why.😂
  16. Bring back the old McDonald's fries! Down with the food police! I'll decide what is best for me.
  17. Least: I call it fish jerky. Many don't know how to cook fish so that is is soft and flaky. One waitress in a restaurant wanted to argue about it. Said that EVERYBODY wants fish jerky. FWIW: The Health Dept. shut that restaurant down because of sanitation and improper food storage temps.
  18. Are the scrambled eggs from an eggshell or a box? Makes a big difference. How long are they cooked?
