  1. I gather you were upgraded to two different cabin categories. If it was the same category, you should be able to swap to another cabin for no charge at all.
  2. Oh my. All I know is that I forward tour info via email to anyone sharing a private tour with us and clearly indicate how payment is to be made. Sometimes a payment is required via online portal from home as a deposit and often it is cash on the day, but they expect Euros in Europe. I don't care what people do with any personal gratuity after, but better have the correct cash to pay on the day. Never had an issue yet. Most people doing this are experienced I have found.
  3. What I do is track all tours on a spreadsheet with the cost and what wife and I owe and if in USD or EUR. I get all that cash ready ahead of voyage and put the correct amount in an envelope and label with date, port, and excursion company. When we get on the ship, I keep them all in the safe and take out each envelope as needed. In addition, some additional for walking around cash.
  4. Don't take the post literally. I did not indicate that I was the one setting the flag. (That said, PCL should have this flag option present in the self-booking process). PS - No, I am still not a TA.
  5. I have no idea how the actual construction was done, but sister ship Coral has identical cabins on Deck 8 aft.
  6. It is a piece of cake if you have B2B... voyages as you book the outbound on the first booking and the return on the final booking. I do believe with a single voyage, you cannot do it. At least you cannot do it self-serve. I forget if an EZ-Air rep can do it (but then you probably cannot change yourself). I was thinking in the context of multiple bookings. Also, for a single voyage, the depart and return dates are generally closer together and perhaps not as much cost variation?? (I do know pricing can be different on the same route in different direction).
  7. Oh, sorry, I am thinking of Promenade - Deck 7. No, Deck 8 are not new. I have read of some vibration in parts of Deck 7 aft. Hope you get a better answer for Deck 8. I am thinking not an issue.
  8. At least one or two. I think one has AARP Gift Card in the subject line. ETA: How about this one?
  9. I have read positive reports about those newer cabins (part of the expanded cabin build when Island was refurbished some years back - much to the dismay and consternation of many long-time guests). There is no soot issue with Island - I have never read of a soot issue other than with the first Royal Class ships. Bed wear can vary, depending on when last replaced, etc. If your individual mattress is a problem, speak to Stewart and escalate if necessary. Hope you get a recent first-hand report.
  10. Yeah, but who needs a bonus card if you can get them from AARP Rewards?
  11. I have not laughed this much at a Princess Forum post in a long, long time. You win the prize of the month at least. ETA: I think I would need the Sanctuary the next day just to recover.
  12. You didn't say where cruising to/from. If closed cruise around Oz/NZ area, then prices will be AUD and exclude CA. Otherwise the cost on board is same as pre-cruise and you can pay for it with any OBC you have.
  13. We always paid to select a cabin. They are offering a lower rate to the lead-in categories as a GTY. Guests can still book a GTY at the higher categories. You get refundable deposits then. The biggest change is non-refundable deposits for those lead-in GTY categories. I'd avoid them like bad food. PCL has the right to move, but I have never been unwillingly/unexpectedly moved and always use the DNU flag on our bookings. Hope you get a better CVP or an outside TA (find one that discounts cruise fare). At least make a call in to PCL after a booking is made and ask that random rep to check your booking and make sure the flag is set. You will also have to make sure flag is reset if you do a re-fare or cancel/re-book as the default is for it to be active. PS - Did you try getting original cabin back? Guests who have the DNU flag set have more luck at this. A guest open to upgrade is not going to have much luck unless catch it almost immediately
  14. That list is for Solo guests where they don't have to pay upcharge. Not the same as a cruise for 50% off for the "normal" 2-in-a-cabin booking.
  15. You are lucky if you aren't the type to handle own travel arrangements and perhaps TA figures she is making enough from whatever revenue you swing her way. I do my own thing for decades and know what I want and can look for price drops on hotels, car rentals, etc. I'd even book my own cruises, but do not want to give up the excellent discount I get from TA.
  16. IMO, it's the only way to go for overseas travel. And I prefer to be able to book one-ways as you can change one flight that may drop while leaving the other alone which may be more expensive at the same time.
  17. I agree that is the correct answer. Never heard of an airfare credit being applied as OBC - refund goes back to original CC once accounting gets around to it. (I suspect PCL accounting may get a notice of airfare rebate from EZ-Air).
  18. You are highly unlikely to find Premium Economy section on a regional short-haul. Also, I wouldn't bother paying the upcharge for FC (really Business Class with an old name that doesn't reflect the service level) for a short flight.
  19. TA's are not working in EZ-Air booking - guest should be doing their own. TA's get didley-squat for booking airfare and if they do it, just doing client a favor. I wouldn't impose (and besides - prefer to do my own so I have control and these days you have airline profiles and all that to have setup including FF account number, etc).
  20. BS - TA is not involved with EZ-Air booking - that is guest directly in Cruise Personalizer.
  21. No, Americans (and soon, Canadians) may have received them at home before flying over. Won't necessarily be the huge majority of guests, but the US represents on Princess, no question.
  22. And just wait until Sun comes along. I am thinking a lot more reservation type situations for the top cabins.
