  1. I’m going to need it if I call HAL! 😂 I’ve sent an email to Intercruises. If they don’t respond, I’ll try calling.
  2. Although I didn’t take a bike tour (couldn’t fit it in with all the other great tours!) the people who did, loved them. I never heard anyone complain about the condition of their bikes. The Adventure Host, who took them out on their tours, got a standing ovation on the last night by those who did. Here is a pic of the bikes. They looked in great condition.
  3. Thanks. I’ll be dropping family at the port and will check my luggage there. The problem is timing. The last time I did this, the wait to enter the port was a really long uncertainty at 20 minutes, and then there’s the shuttle from the rental facility to the airport to factor in. I’ll be FaceTiming with them tomorrow so I’ll ask what time they’d like to be at the port. Thanks for the agenda item! You are so right!!! I just hate taking a cab in Fort Lauderdale.
  4. Yeah, only by $4.00, though. I just hate having to assert myself with the driver and sit awkwardly alone with them. Uber/Lyft are out due to past experience so I was hoping the HAL shuttle would be a good option.
  5. Thanks, again, @shipshapegirl. The info they gave you is as vague as the info in the online shopping cart. 😂 I’ll probably just hop a cab. I don’t do well with uncertainties.
  6. Thank you, @shipshapegirl! Do they send additional information post-purchase with timeframes and last bus? It’s super-hard to plan without any details.
  7. Has anyone taken the HAL transfer from FLL to PEV? I’ve attached the screenshot of the only information they give you. I’ll be dropping some of my party off at PEV then returning the rental to the airport and was thinking this might be a good option to avoid the lines at the entry kiosks.. Except there are no details to base my decision on! Hoping someone on the board has done it and can give a brief rundown; most notably, departure time and place. Thank you!
  8. Those are gooseberries! Although @colbe could be right. Were they the size of grapes or larger? You were very brave to arrive on the day of the cruise. Especially on a TA! We did that. Once. First and last flight out of the day as the rest of the flights were cancelled due to weather. One time our flight was delayed and there was a family sitting behind us whose cruise was leaving that day. At 4:00pm we had just landed and were taxiing to our gate. I doubt they made it but I hope they did. We got to our hotel and the bellhop asked if we had missed our cruise. He said they’d had a lot of walk-ins that day (from missed cruises) and that it happens a lot. Anyway, thanks for the trip report and I hope you have a wonderful time! Oh! The safety video thing happened to us too! Watched the whole thing before checking in at our muster station. When we got back to the room we had to watch it all over again! I’m guessing they ran into a glitch when they switched from shore power to ship power and it reset something.
  9. What a great picture! Have a fantastic time and safe travels, @1of4! Looking forward to reading along.
  10. I was just thinking… try uninstalling the Navigator app, and then reinstalling. When you open it to log in, it will ask if you want to allow notifications. It might be that it just needs a boot up the backside and this will help.
  11. I never knew that either! @POA1, do you happen to know what time the Tamarind Bar opens? For the life of me, I can’t find that information. Thank you!
  12. $50 for US citizens, Canadian citizens, US and Canadian Permanent Residents, and certain Mexican nationals. But not for long. As of October 1st, the price goes up to $120 and will be harmonized with GE.
  13. Those kiosks rejected me and sent me to the back of the “World” line for a face-to-face…. After waiting a good 1.5-2 hours in the Canada/US line! 😠 Well, 😤. That World line was slow-moving so I asked the roaming officer if GE people had to wait through yet another line. He hesitated, then said I could go through the handicap line since there was no one there. Others who had been rejected at the kiosk piped up and said “We’re GE too!” So then we became another line. 😂
  14. That sounds like a fun time. 😂 Any wonder they’re working on limits.
  15. Perhaps because an agreement was reached last year to limit the number of ships to Juneau in 2024. I’m thinking this is the tip of the iceberg, so to speak, and we can expect to see even tighter restrictions on numbers and sizes, etc, (akin to Venice and Norway). Maintaining a presence to keep your foot in the door is probably easier than trying to break back into a popular market.
  16. I would check HALfacts within the comment section of each linked room. Sometimes the contributor provides good information along with the pictures. HALfacts R-Class Ships
  17. Since it is a US CPB Pre-clearance for entry into the US, it is officially called the Global Entry line, which NEXUS Pass holders may use. So, yes, you may use the line, providing you have either a NEXUS Pass or a Global Entry Pass. If it is available. On my Alaska cruise out of Vancouver, the Global Entry line was unavailable to passengers. It is up to their (CBP) discretion whether they open it or not.
  18. This topic made me go back to my cruise summary to count the physical sailing days I actually have. I had never paid attention before! It looks like they gave me my medallion two cruises after I attained the required # of days.
  19. The NEXUS pass gives pre-screened travelers expedited processing when crossing a Canadian or US border. You may know it as Global Entry, which is included as part of the program.
  20. Maybe try turning it off and on? 😂 I know that’s a basic but sometimes when my iPhone and iPad aren’t cooperating, I turn them off, wait a minute, then turn them back on. Other times I need to turn airplane mode on, then off, for certain issues. It’s like giving them a shake and saying “WAKE UP”!! I will keep my fingers crossed for you!
  21. Apologies if this is too basic, but here is how I have notifications set for Navigator:
  22. We really enjoyed the artisan shops in the terminal, as @Navybikermom has mentioned. We took a walk through town and then back along the promenade. There’s a little fish and chip shack, there, with really great fish and chips and a great view of the ship! There was also a banjo player along the way, who we really enjoyed. Loved the pewter in one of the shops. I bought myself a maple leaf!
  23. It’s amazingly safe. Whenever my husband went on business I’d happen to be free that week. 😇 We stayed at the Brooklyn Bridge Marriott and I took lovely walks through the elegant brownstone streets in Brooklyn Heights. It’s also lovely walking the prom along the East River. They have amazing bagel shops along the way! (Gosh, I miss those bagels.) I would send you to my favourite Italian restaurant but it’s gone. 😭 You could take the ferry from Red Hook over to Manhattan, and I like @tv24’s suggestion of the museum. Speaking of ferries… For our last cruise out of NYC we stayed at the Residence Inn Central Park. It was amazing! (And I’m not easily amazed.) There are many pubs and restaurants a few steps from the door and it is right across the street from Studio 54! Also across the street is The Ed Sullivan Theatre where they do The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Maybe you could get tickets to a show, if one strikes your fancy, at one of those venues. Anyway, from there we had a car service drop us at Pier 11/Wall St to catch the ferry over to Red Hook. Highly recommend! On my last visit, I picked up a postcard of the twin towers and the Brooklyn bridge, found some nice frames at the dollar store, and now they’re in my powder room! 😄
  24. The person who responded gave erroneous information. The reviews which show up on the excursion lists come from the excursion review requests sent separately from the cruise survey.
  25. I was just about to write the same! @dogo88, it may have disappeared into your junk mail folder.
