  1. Looking forward to following along! Have a wonderful trip!
  2. Add me to the many who are enjoying your report! We are booked for Alaska one-way next June on Sapphire Princess, which will be our first Alaska cruise as well as our first time on Princess. DH and I are both +1 packers (though I suspect he returns home with more than one clean pair 🙄) Thank you for the time you are devoting to this report!
  3. Bon voyage! Thank you for sharing your trip with us. Hope you have a wonderful time!
  4. Thank you for bringing this up! We are booked on the Sapphire Princess next June, so I only looked at one-way options for that month. Right now on the Princess website it looks like Northbound cruises are visiting Skagway, while Southbound cruises are visiting Icy Strait Point (the other difference in itinerary is College Fjord for NB and Hubbard Glacier for SB, which we already knew). This is for Sapphire, Grand, and Majestic. I will keep an eye on this while I research which option sounds better for us...
  5. Thanks for your review! Glad to hear you had such a good trip.
  6. That's great intel, thank you! We're a family of 5 so we'd go for the townhouse as well.
  7. Thanks for mentioning this; I just recently became aware of this option and am considering it for our trip next year. Have you stayed there? Reviews seem to vary a lot...I guess it depends what you're expecting.
  8. We are also a family of 5. When I have tried to find cruise cabins that would accommodate all of us, they have always been suites that were more expensive than getting two regular cabins. The Norwegian Jewel is doing Alaska one-ways next summer and has a few different family-size cabin categories (both Haven and non-Haven), but even the non-Haven option is more expensive than the two balcony cabins I've booked on the Sapphire Princess for next June. As another mom of three once said to me (jokingly of course), if we had realized how much we enjoyed cruising, we never would have had the third kid 😁 We are doing the land portion on our own, to give us the flexibility to do what interests us at our own pace.
  9. Wow, GTJ! What a wealth of information. Thank you for sharing your expertise.
  10. I too am enjoying your wonderful report! The pre-cruise information is very helpful as I am trying to figure out what to do before our southbound one-way next year.
  11. Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I searched for my question and hopefully this information is still valid. We will be on the Sapphire Princess in a regular balcony cabin. Am I understanding correctly that we may use the steam room, sauna, and pool in the spa area without additional charge? Thanks!
