  1. your review is very helpful - thank you!! We have our first med cruise coming up in YC grandiosa. Having sailed YC seaside us and our traveling partners would agree with your assessment on the food! We were not impressed. With that said - the price we got we still feel as if it was a good value.

Seaside grill did have buns for its burgers and hot dogs - did we ever find out if its a european thing to eat hamburgers and hotdogs without buns lol?

  2. we found NCL's food alot better than MSC's, except for MSC's pizza. We also felt the buffet had better options on MSC. Otherwise the dining rooms ad speciality dining (in our opinion) was not as good on MSC. But with that said we booked another cruise with MSC - wasn't a deal breaker.

  3. Thank you! Nice job! Google automatically translated your site for me too - you have very helpful content.

Elevator Digital screens look cool - but I but I wonder how it will work when the ship is full and a bunch of people are crowded around it wanting different floors at peak times. When an elevator arrives as you are approaching is it too late to go to the screen and press a floor? Regular elevators you'd be able to jump In and touch your button. Also, I wonder if yacht club is still able to use it as a priority elevator.

Is this changed and available now to YC? and All ships?

Yep, i wasnt offered free internet for our spring Grandiosa YC cruise.

We were also on the Seaside for two weeks in October and had the exact opposite experience. The butler handles this and they couldn't have been more accommodating (we had a different butler the second week as the original one went on vacation). The mini fridge was stocked with only what we wanted and we never ran out. Not only did they both offered to bring specialty drinks to the cabin, from any bar on the ship, but also offered to get us drinks when he escorted us to the theater for the shows.

Wow what an awesome butler!! So i can have our butler bring us drinks from the champaign bar or a beer from the pub?

Norway continues to behave extremly ugly to cruise companies. It will get totally worse in 2025. If you not done the norway cruise until now, I would recommend to go no matter what ships MSC sends.

What do you mean? Environmental issues?

  7. I am going to book one of the Cirque Du Soleil shows for Grandiosa. We have 2 kids and was surprised that the Show and drink ticket is the same price ast an adult ticket. What kind of beverage do they serve the kids?

We have the premium drink package - do they allow us to bring in a drink incase we dont like the one they serve? How long is the show?

    Thanks!

  8. I would be pretty annoyed if Ocean Cay was cancelled for my cruise too - its been delayed...what..2 years!? I do feel bad for those that will be missing out this month and I sympathize with them when they vent about it. With that said every seasoned cruiser knows (or should!) that every port is not guaranteed. It still sucks though when it happens. We all need to be kinder to each other here on the boards too.

And talking about MSC being a great value - 100% it is - at least in our case! For around $4000 my family of 4 has sailed in the yacht club this year and next year - try getting anything close to that on another line. It doesn't exist!! BUT with that said - once the price goes up (I'm sure it will) I will not be loyal to MSC anymore - it comes down to whoever offers my family the best price/value.

MSC is still a baby in the cruising industry and are still going through growing pains. I'm ok with that. Constructive criticism is also ok- supposibly the cruiseline does read these boards. And for those that aren't happy with MSC - there are many other cruising options out there that are great and may suit your needs better - that's whats great about the cruising industry!

Just booked a last minute cruise (on-line) for Thanksgiving week cruise on Seaside... YC Suite.

I used a very popular and well known online booking agency. For Yacht Club they showed 2 pricings  which differed by almost $300. The higher was the "all in" option. Since I have cruised Yacht Club in past I knew pretty much everything is included except internet. So this is very deceiving if you are new to booking a Yacht Club cabin.  Additionally I called that said agency (for a question on another issue) and received 3 different prices every time I questioned the pricing. I just kept thinking to myself.... anyone who actually would try to book via phone would really be getting "screwed" ...The phone agent seemed to have no familarity with MSC. I hung up and booked online at the regular YC cabin price ...LOL.  Just be careful and its always best to do a dummy booking to get your pricing before talking on the phone to an agent!    FYI...The reason I used this internet agency instead of my regular online agency is because my regular agency offered a significant  ($650) onboard credit for YC category. This agency offered no onboard credit but their price was approx $650 lower ....so knowing I spent very little out of my pocket on last YC sailing I didn't want to have to deal with a huge onboard credit I likely would not use up.

does this agents company start with an 'A'? if so i use them too and know exactly what you are tlaking about because i did a similar post here about the same thing almost 2 years ago because I was confused. Thank god for cruisecritic steering me in the right direction. I was new to MSC so i didn't have a clue.

With that said I have booked multiple cruises with them including my upcoming Grandiosa cruise because they do come out several hundred -$1k cheaper than booking direct. Too bad they dont offer nice OBC anymore for MSC (I wasnt offered anything for our grandiosa cruise either)

  10. Thanks sidari! This won't be a deal breaker for our family. We didn't eat the snacks (those are cheap dollar store snacks really) or take or use those mini bottles of alcohol (prefer to have our drinks made at the bar or brought to us). Infact in our mini bar the pringles were old and 2 of the mini alcohol bottles were open(yikes!). We also just took the champagne bottle home at the end of the cruise. Happy we can still get water soda and beer supply as much as we need though.

Trying to get further clarification from someone onboard in the YC.

Thanks so much! Hoping this wont affect room service and the ability to have the butler bring food and drinks. Crossing my fingers this only relates to the minifridge alcohol and snacks - which we could totally live without.

We loved having our butler bring our children a milk shake or cookies at night, or delivery a box of pizza and along with drinks from the bar.

  12. what!? I'm confused. We will be sailing on the Grandiosa in a few months. This is disappointing.

Does this mean I can't have the butler bring us a glass of wine or cocktail to the room from the yacht club bar?  I thought room service is free for yacht club - including having your butler bring drinks and snacks.

Does this only apply to the little beverages in the minibar?

We took this excursion with MSC. IMO it was money extremely well spent. .....

Thank you so much for your feedback I am weighing all of my options and looking into every suggestion people leave. This MSC tour keeps coming out ahead in price for what we want only negative is the tour group size may be large.

Do you remember around what time this tour was offered? (morning i hope)

Does the MSC Gaudi tour end on La Rambla before going back to the ship? Do you think we would be able to go to the La Boqueria Market off La Rambla at the end of the tour and just taxi back?

I would look at Barcelona day tours they are great

I looked into them and it ended up being too pricey. The MSC excursion - granted its not private - was almost half the cost and goes to the same places as the private one i inquired about. I keep hearing how great they are though!

I can not compare since I have not sailed the Caribbean with MSC but sailed Western Mediterranean on MSC Seaview and MSC Bellissima in Yacht Club. YC guests meet in the Top Sail Lounge and get escorted by a butler via VIP ‘hijacked’ elevator and expedited security to the bus. Once handed over to the tour guide you are on your own. No seat reservation for YC guests as per my experience.

thank you for the feedback. So it looks like YC guests dont need to go meet up where the excursion meets up before exiting the ship (like in the theater) That's a big plus and I enjoyed the same type of service with NCL Haven (taking us right outside to the tour guide). thank you. By any chance did you do an MSC excursion in Malta, Palermo, Barcelona, Genoa or Marseille that you recommend?

  16. I haven't seen a whole lot of chat on here about the new MSC Grandiosa. MSC just took delivery of the ship this week - christening next weekend.

If you search on instagram #mscgrandiosa there are already photos and videos from some people in the past few days.
