NOLA deserves a better ship.  TBH should send Magic or Breeze over there.

They used to have Dream but not enough demand for a bigger ship so they switched it with Valor. Might still not be enough demand for a bigger ship.

Agreed, they had to discount Dream to get it to sail full, but the demand was there for 2 smaller ships.  They MIGHT send a Dream class ship there, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Those saying "I've never had issues getting drinks in the casino." The difference is that a PREMIER cruise is full of people with the same DOU offer so there are fewer waiters and bartenders to handle the demand compared to a normal sailing with a casino offer.

I've been on premiers and elites and still had no issues getting drinks.

I'm going to be on the Panaroma next week. I wanted to ask how it was using Carnival's transportation from Pier to Airport (Long Beach)? Are there benefits like getting off the ship earlier or getting out of the parking lot any faster? We have a flight that leaves at 1pm. Is that enough time?

1:00 is easily done.  Shuttle is at the parking garage, but I don't remember getting anything to get off the ship earlier.

Thank you both for the suggestions - I really love the chapel idea, hadn't even thought about that.

Just a heads up, but there hasn't been a chapel on Carnival ships for a few years.  Spirit class was the last to have them and they have been converted to arcades.

  5. Yeah, I wasn't impressed with Vista last month.  I think Ben Gentry just got back on the Vista and he is one of the best, if not the best.  Sadly during COVID, many of the PBE found other jobs, but some are slowly making their way back onboard. And PBE you may like, may not be liked by others.  Personally I am not a fan of Eden or Mike(don't remember his last name, but he was on Mardi Gras last year). Doesn't mean they are bad, just not liked by all.

    I'm just curious...
Were you not impressed with it based on a sea day lunch you had there?  Or did you dine there for dinner?

I'm not all that impressed with the sea day lunch buffet they offer outside the Pig & Anchor...  but the sit-down dinners inside the restaurant, I LOVE those.   The dinner at the Pig & Anchor is completely different than what they serve at lunch time.  I worry that people might be un-impressed with the lunch, and then never try the dinner version.

Do try the Trash Can Nachos sometime, if you never have.  They are unlike other nachos you've probably had.

I'm just not that impressed with anything on the menu, other than the nachos.  I can smoke things at home that taste better than they do onboard.

  7. You are supposed to get the perks, but when it happened to me last month on Vista, I was given a gold card, and received none of the other perks of being platinum.  I went to guest services and they said the computers changed to no reflect changes during the sailing.  I was able to get the card and applicable perks, but just be warned that it happened.

Maybe Carnival could mix in some Journey's type sailings that are shorter than 10-14 days. Many of us can't be gone for that long at this point in our lives (kids, work, etc.). Maybe have a smattering of 6-7 day voyages that hit some of the lesser sailed to ports. This would I think satisfy a big need!

The issue is that the ports that people want, simply can't be done in the time frame.  Yes, they may be able to get 1-2 ports, but many people want more ports days and less sea days.

We sail out of Galveston and its the same ports they've been going to for as long as we've been cruising with them. I have noticed that they've added some new iteneraries but its just a new shuffle of the same old ports and more and more they are adding Puerta Maya, that is not a addition.  These new ones are never iteneraries we'd be interested in going on.  I don't mind there being one port out of 3 that we don't care for, that's just a fun day on a less crowded ship, but all 3 ports, no thank you.

You do realize that Galveston takes too long to get to any other places right?  Its why an 8 day cruise goes to the Bahamas and Key West.

FYI, the Sensation is to the middle of the Imagination(left) & Ecstasy(right). Appears they've barely touched the Imagination yet.

I read that Imagination is being used as a hotel for the workers.  Not sure why though, unless they needed a lot of new workers to help with the scrapping of more ships lately.

  11. They say to send in no later than 4 weeks prior to your cruise.  Not sure why you keep sending it.  Some email programs, every time a new email is sent with the same information, it moves it to the newer emails.  So each time you resend it, it may be moving your email further down the list.

  12. Not sure why you expected there to be a separate non-smoking casino.  Vista was never a ship that was listed as one with it, so you went into it with incorrect expectations.  I was on the Vista Oct 8-15 and during the RFP tour, he was saying he was having issues getting deliveries of what he needed to brew certain beers, I would assume that is one that you were wanting.
